The Orange SPV has loads of features and once you get used to navigating - it's brilliant.
Had one problem and removed the battery, when I went back in the menu was in French. Took a while to work out what to change (never being any good at french)… Read Full Review

Heavier than my previous phones. Stalls quite often, slow. Had the service pack update (10 mins instore) and they wiped the canera software! Fools. Now i have to go back to the city to get it reloaded. The GPRS is a hassle getting set up on the SPV… Read Full Review

Many people have said bad things about the Orange SPV. I agree I am on my second handset as the first did crash on me however I have downloaded the firmware update on my second unit and have found only one flaw since. You need paitence with this phone it is not for tehno fools how many phones can you download software updates direct from the handset and how many can you surf the web. Perhaps we should look at this as a Pocket Pc with phone functions when you do it becomes a lot easier to use. A… Read Full Review

To the person regarding the ringtones, you can record your own ringtones from CD. You can use activesinc to import a .wav format tune and use it for a ringtone.
As for the person saying you couldn't find the thing for changing over your Sim card details. Go to SIM Manager. you can transfer all your details from your sim card to your phone. Hope this helps.

Bought one as an upgrade, day one it crashed permanently, took it back to Orange shop and they will not replace it until their technical dept can diagnose the fault (could take forever!!) so one week later I am still without a phone and out of pocket as a result of buying one of these! My feature ratings are from a theoretical point of view as I have no experience of the features seeing as it doesn't work! Orange shop staff also agree the phone is problematic and many have been replaced as… Read Full Review

There is no better 3G Phone available in the market at the moment to compete with SVP. This is the best one available. I was installing all kind of software on my phone in the beginning due to which the phone slowed down or sometime crashed. After all it's a PC. Now I added 512 MB SD Card and have everything in there. Problem resolved. The new upgrade has improved the battery life, the antenna and the value of the product drastically… Read Full Review

Its inability to perform simple tasks such as send photots and ringtones by infrared. And you would have thought on a phone as advanced as this you would be able to fully cusomise the home screen, rarther than just be able to change the colours, the presets are ok, but i would like to be able to start my home screen from scratch… Read Full Review

The phone is an excellent piece of equipment if you wish to combine a phone, personal organiser. The phone can seem a little slow, but this is mainly due to the fact that it is a computer rather than simply a phone. Once I updated the phone using the download option, the battery life has increased dramatically. You don't have to be a computer genius to operate this phone, but if you have a slight knowledge of computers, you will be able to fully utilise this phone and all of its features. This… Read Full Review

I bought a Orange SPV just over a week ago. Has crashed a few times. Also find the battery only lasts about 20 hours.
I upgraded to this phone from Pay As You Go and have been told I can't take it back.
If you are thinking of buying one DON'T. … Read Full Review

I bought one on Wednesday, it crashed about six times in two days, kept returning to home screen whilst using other features, took it back to Orange shop and got new handset, seems ok at present, but will give it some abuse over the next few days just to make sure. I have also experienced poor reception in previously good areas.

The phone looks pleasing to the eye, it is not heavy and fits easily into a coat pocket. The menu system is slow and at times seems almost non-responsive. The camera once connected makes the device clumsy and its picture is unstable..you need a steady hand for this one. Playback of multimedia is acceptable in sound form but the video is 'jerky' at best, leaving playback as a gimmic, and not a usable feature. The SPV battery life lasts about 18 hours if its used infrequently, so its not for the… Read Full Review

having been a phone nut for the past few years..sl45,t66,t68,t720,6610 etc i went for the Orange SPV as it could do the lot. Having used the phone for 3 months i can say that if you dont need all the functions look elsewhere as the SPV is hard to use due to small keypad not good for text etc. Battery life is also very bad, 1 day if you are lucky. The spv locks up every day, remove battery then start again...i have upgraded the software which seems to have cured some of the problems but not… Read Full Review

I got this phone last week with great expectations, but sadly i was greatly dissapointed. I will firstly tell you the good points. The features are ace, media player is a huge bonus allowing you to play mp3s, watch videos (low quality). The ringtones are extremely good quality but i recommend finding your own as the ones that are preset are absolute tripe, quite why they've done this i dont know. There is only 8mb of storage space so you are somewhat limited. GPRS allows high speed… Read Full Review

Excellent phone. Stops me being bored on long train journeys. A few minor annoyances, like it slowing down at random times, but, hey - it's Microsoft - you have to expect that. Things like All-Explorer and IAAlbum not shipping with the phone for free is a bit annoying. That functionality should be provided with the O/S as it is in all other versions of Windows. I was going to develop my own, but find that all software has to be certified for use by Orange… Read Full Review

The SPV is an excellent product which has allowed me to put my Compaq iPAQ away in its box. The camera is rubbish and the ring tones are extremely boring, would it not have been better to allow a mobile of this nature the very latest in ring tones. A car kit would be a very valuable piece of kit right now. … Read Full Review

I personally think this phone is the best out there now after considering all the features and value for money! But I do find one thing quite annoying though, is that I couldn't find any website for latest ringtones for spv. This is probably because this phone is still new and that not many people know bout it yet. But it's really getting on my nerves when some said the ringtones are no good and some say it's amazing (but where and how can you download it if the website didn't allow this phone… Read Full Review

Well I was pretty well impressed !! Took a couple of days to learn all the features and how to use them unlike the other two reviewers! They said the ring tones was poor and the sound not loud THEN CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS DUHH!. Once you have set up active sync which was I must say easier to download from microsft than the disc, you can open up your phone file and drag and drop .wav or .midi files direct onto your phone WOW hifi sound or what, I have a 15 sec clip from star wars film in the bar… Read Full Review
