The Fiat Punto 1.4 GT Turbo is a good car, it is fast 0-60 standard is about 7.4sec and will pass its claimed topspeed of 127mph very easily. You can easily start to bring its 0-60 time down with a few mods. Its faster than a similar spec r5 turbo. But the r5 turbo does respond more to engine tweaks ...

Having owned the Fiat Punto 1.4 GT Turbo for over 10 yrs now its been absolutly fab. It beats so many cars off the lights, has 94000 miles on the clock and is still going strong.

I've owned my Punto 1.4 for 2 months, had a few minor problems, water coolant leak, oil leak, washerjet leak, mostly leaks actually. Anyway.
Overall I love my Punto GT! 0-60 is around 6.5 secs with a top speed of over 140mph before hitting the rev limiter. Very fast, turbo lag can be a bit irritat ...

I bought my Fiat Punto 1.4 GT Turbo back in February this year (2004) and have spent close to £1400 on repairs in 6months having to repair/replace:

Clutch slave cylinder (broke after 24hours)
Rear trailing arms + bushes (a common complaint)
Petrol tank (also a common fault)
    Rear offside ...

THE FIAT PUNTO 1.4 GT TURBO IS ONE OF THE FASTEST HOT HATCHES AROUND AND WASTED R5GTT RST AND TT'S AND A FEW COSESS OFF THE LINE. WENT TO TRAX THE OTHER WEEKEND AND GOT 6.4 IN 0-60. THAT'S FAST, BUT IN A LITTLE 1.4 THAT'S LIGHTING, I KNOW.

The slick contoures and its indefinate spacial look. The Fiat Punto 1.4 GT Turbo is a breeze to tune. It's a stallion in it's own right. It's an engineering masterclass in a league of it's own. Nothing more has to be said. It's a real racers dream but some only a fantasy.

The moment i saw my 1st GT it was love, she was beautiful - but was soon to reveal her ugly side. Week one - slave cylinder on hydraulic clutch started to leak fluid excessively which would have lead to brake failure. Easily changed at home but still £85 down in a week!
Week two - Reverse gea ...
