Written on: 18/10/2002 by Rothan. (1 review written)

1st thing to do when getting this Siemens M35 mobile phone is to get rid of the standard battery and buy a Lithium ion battery. Fixes all battery/battery meter issues.
The SMS message bank is too small. I always have to be deleting old messages to make space for new. The received SMS messages are not keeped in order so sometimes I have to read all of them to find the last one that was received. I can't have a seperate car charger, and hands free kit plugged in at the same time as they use the… Read Full Review

Written on: 03/10/2002 by GusD. (1 review written)

Overall, this Siemens M35i is a very good phone. It is very reliable as the plastic covers protect it against dust and water. It has many features and no bugs. I also like its menu, especially the shortcut functions that are available. However, the original phone's Nickel battery has a somewhat poor performance. Luckily, the S35i's Li-Ion is compatible with M35i, so I bought it… Read Full Review

I have a Siemens M35i for a second mobile (my first is a ME45). The M35i is a really tough phone. I have dropped it MANY times and still works perfectly. It has good reception and nice features like WAP, calendar, chronometer... It is also quite small and can easily fit in my pocket. If you find one nowadays, I suggest you buy it. This phone is great value for money… Read Full Review

I think that the Siemens M35i is a very good mobile phone and a great value for money. Its dimensions are very good and has an internal antenna. The phone is really tough, I have it almost 2 years and I have dropped it MANY times... Also, the M35i has adequate features: WAP, calendar, currency converter, chronometer etc, and its menu is functional and user friendly. The display is clear with dimmer, which is something I like very much. Sound quality and reception are very good and I haven't… Read Full Review

Written on: 09/08/2002 by chris bajada. (1 review written)

Well, this phone is rather old and for the generic type of person who wants a mobile phone to phone and recieve calls and sens SMS it would be quite good (however take care of that battery life!) However it lacks a lot when compared to the 3310 (it was launched in that same period).

Now i am considering purchasing the 8310, after all nokia are dedicated to telecommunications and not dedicated to fridges, cookers........ and finally mobile phones… Read Full Review

If esthetics and games are what you want, then this phone is not for you - however I disagree on most of the bad points mentioned by Chris Bajda about this phone. All in all it is a rugged phone and MUCH more reliable than the 3310. Other than that, like the 3310, it has features that doen't exist in the 3310 such as WAP and Battery Care. Battery life is good initially however if the Battery Care feature is not used then I agree with chris that it will only last 2 days - this afterall, is only normal for a NiCad battery. Update the firmware to v21 and the phone ceases to switch off auto. This comes from a guy who currently uses and batters one of these phones.

Well Duhhhh!!!! Who takes off the waterprofing tabs, uses the phone in the shower and trows it delebriately hard to see if it still works? I mean come on, ok. How often do you use it in the shower anyway? Can't you just leave it off for 15 minutes it takes to have one. That should not be taken that into account (and who would in all fairness). Second, if your phone drops fair enough. I have dropped many phones but never deleberitaly bashed them on the ground. There not designed for that. So what, if it never worked again he is probabbly the type of person who would have written, "well it had a little fall and never worked afterward". His little fall was smashed on the ground but rather than admit his wrong he would be daft enough to blame the phone. I mean why!!! Why would you want to take of the rubber waterprofing?? Just cause the some phones can take that, doesn't mean there ment to. Get REAL!!!!

Written on: 07/07/2002 by Lutaaya Arsen. (1 review written)

I have had my Siemens M35 mobile phone since March 2002. Before I bought it I had had a Nokia 3210 for 2 years which endured a number of falls. I had missed out on the vibrator & organiser, I found these features in such a small, compact, fine & dandy siemens M35 gadget. Being an ardent user of SMS feature I noted that editing of long text was kind of slowed as the phone's T9 does not 'remember' new words used earlier. The rubber at the back keeps the phone from sliding off bevelled surfaces… Read Full Review

your right this is a great phone. i've had it for about a year now. battery life is good, about 3 days using it a lot. it is also water and shock resistant (it really is water resistant cos i poured a glass of water on the keys(am i mad?!?) and all is still fine). it has some cool features such as the automatic keylock, auto power off. good phone, just love it

Written on: 23/04/2002 by simon. (1 review written)

I initially liked this Siemens M35 mobile phone - it looks pretty good and is supposedly shock and splash resistant. But I would have thought that for a mobile phone a decent battery life is a prerequisite... I soon found myself completely ignoring the battery-life indicator and charging the phone every night as on numerous occasions I was cut off mid conversation. Even when at home it is a nuisance, as it gives you approximately five seconds' audio warning to get to a charger to keep talking… Read Full Review

Written on: 09/04/2002 by Rickster. (1 review written)

The Siemens M35 mobile phone, in my opinion, is terrible. As you may see above there are more bad points than good points. Don't buy this phone, it's incredibly dull, will cramp your style, and is just a nightmare to use. The buttons are really hard to press so sending a text becomes a bit of a task. The menu's are too complicated and really it's just very user unfriendly. This phone was obviously designed for builders as it's water and shock resistant, but the builders would have to be very… Read Full Review

As the above person said that the SIEMENS M35i is crud,It think that he is mistaken as from my past 3 yrs expernce the battery has a long life compared to some nokia phones.I support him with his statement that the rubber peels of and it sometimes shows card error, but the menu is the most user friendly compared to Nokia models of which you have to hunt the whole phone to change the ringtone. So friend don't be too harsh in your reveiws as there are some good points of the phone plus mainly this phone has the least ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION compared to any other mobile phones.

Suepoo.'s Response to 18614_Rickster.'s Review

Written on: 15/12/2002

I agree somewhat with this review but feel it is a little harsh. The rubber does not peel! The buttons are slightly more stiff than say on the nokia 3210 but that is not really a bad thing. One thing I slightly agree on is the appearance. It is quite dull looking compared to other silver/coloured or flip fones. But the worse thing by far is the battery life. It is bad and it is hard to judge how much battery life you have left. After about a year it becomes a little untrustworthy. If you make calls you would have to charge it every day or so. Having said that I found my old nokia 3210's battery life to be even worse so I dunno!
