“Safer, Regulated by FCA”

I use this service to exchange & transfer funds into a foreign (European) bank. Following registration of my details, it's always easy and clear about what to do, and how. Telephone help if needed is friendly and quick. The rates are always excellent, not misleading like others. I receive a confirmation telephone call to verify each transaction. These can arrive from some far-away countries, but always clear, concise and friendly. It's worth remembering that Forex markets close at 16:00 I think. The most important aspect, for me, is some guarantee of financial safety as I transfer sums which I certainly wouldn't like to lose! This is one of the few companies offering UK Financial Conduct Authority regulation. It's at least something, whilst the others can (and have in the past in UK) take your money and deliver nothing. Payment is made by bank transfer, and debit cards can be used too. This is quite straightforward provided you pay promptly. They do make the point, unfamiliar to most UK users, that the receiving bank may charge. However UKForex don't. Confirmation of each stage is provided by e-mail. Highly recommended (if you don't want to risk losing money).

“No-fee claim contradiction”

Ukforex was supposed to pay me directly into my Swiss IBAN account (listed as my beneficiary).There should be no intermediate bank to arrange this payment and charge for it a transfer fee (14 CHF). Ukforex stipulates that depending on routing an intermediate bank could charge a fee for the transfer and that Ukforex isn't responsible for such fees regardless the amount. And if a fee was charged I ought to discuss this at my end. I did just that because it sounds like some mystery bank that can re-route direct IBAN payments. The reality is as follows and I clarified it with my Swiss bank: Ukforex DOES HAVE A SWISS BANK ACCOUNT with a Swiss bank (happens to be Credit Swiss) which then will pay into my Swiss bank account. That's the only way it works. So for Ukforex to claim ignorance and mention a possible charge by some intermediary bank rings hollow. Credit Swiss is of course not Ukforex but that doesn't make Credit Swiss a possible intermediate bank to carry out the transfer since Ukforex has an account with them. The other thing is that online IBAN payments in Switzerland do not charge the payer (Ukforex in this case) a fee. Particularly account holders with large amounts on their account. I never pay a fee for transferring money to another Swiss account. Why should Ukforex?

“After a lot of research........”

My wife and I spent quite q while trying to find the best way to send money from the u.s to the u.k. Banks won't help you beyond trying to get you to take their wire transfer fees - it doesn't benefit them to do any more then that. With UKForex, direct debit option it basically cuts out all the fees that a bank in the u.s would normally charge you. This is by far the best option! - and.....you get the best rate! We've been using them for a year now. Very happy!

“Superfast reliable money transfer”

After Brexit I have decided to transfer my savings to another country. UKForex is simple to use and their market spreads are really tight. But the biggest surprise was the transfer timeframe. I have received the whole amount in just 15 hours! Incredible. Highly recommendable agent!

“Appalling service”

I have had a UK Forex account for several years and have made regular transactions abroad to a variety of beneficiaries. Until 2 weeks ago. When I tried to transfer funds (180GBP) for a hotel booking. UK Forex compliance had a problem because the receiving bank account was in the personal name of the owner and not in the name of the hotel - it's small family owned and run hotel, its not Ritz Carlton. After 10 days of submitting documentary evidence (some of it twice) UK Forex have decided that the payment is suspicious and won't transact it. To make matters worse, my online account is still frozen because of this compliance failure and I can't use the online platform and I can now only transact deals over the phone and only make payments to account abroad in my own name. However UK Forex have failed me on that matter too. Today, UK referendum day, I cannot be put through to a dealer on the phone to make a trade because they are 'busy'. I've used my bank to make my deals today, without any problems. It says a lot about UK Forex service when a bank is more helpful........

“Top exchange rates and super fast service”

I have been using another money transfer service, but following an email from Martin Lewis Moneysaving I decided to investigate other options as the rate quoted was not too good. The UKforex rate was a lot better and I discovered there is no charge for sending smaller amounts. The beauty of this is that money can arrive the same day, which in my case it did. This is great if money is needed urgently. I usually send about £500 at Christmas for gifts and I had been paying £9 every time, free with UKForex. The only thing which could be improved is if I want to send a specific amount in foreign currency, however this option may be available and I haven't found it yet. Absolutely brilliant!

“Poor Information”

I have just been informed today, 11 days after setting up a money transfer to South Africa, that you cannot take funds from a business account. The recipient had already paid out this money and therefore needed us to pay him as soon as possible. We now discover we cannot do this and therefore the deal is likely to break down. When I initially spoke to one of your representatives I explained exactly what the money was for and that it was a business transaction. At no time was any mention made of not being able to use a business account for what was a business transaction. I see it states on your website that you provide online payments for business clients - how so, if they cannot use business accounts to pay? I will not be using UKForex again and will not recommended you to any of my business associates either. C. Bruce

“Frustrating experience and lack of predictability”

While I have no reason to question their integrity, my experience with UK Forex has been very frustrating. Perhaps due to the fact I needed to transfer funds from my UK account in GBP to a foreign account in an 'exotic currency', the transaction involved 3 different banks: UK Forex's bank in the UK, the beneficiary's foreign bank, and a rather mysterious 'intermediary bank' which I wasn't told much about apart from the fact it was an 'intermediary'. Problems started when it took several attempts for the transaction to go through, my funds being stuck somewhere in the financial aether for two weeks before reaching the beneficiary. This may have been due to an incorrect format on the beneficiary's account details, although the exact cause of the issue was never clarified, making any prospect of further transfers something of a hit and miss operation. To compound this, an unexplained 4% commission was taken by the intermediary bank, and I've now been waiting several weeks for UK Forex to provide an update on the intermediary's fees and commission levels, so that future transfers could be made predictable. As it stands, and despite UK Forex amiable offer to waive their own 9 GBP fee on the next few transfers, transferring money in that manner feels akin to playing russian roulette, and I will avoid doing this until full clarity on these issues has been provided.

“Nobody answers the phone.”

Today I concluded many years of using UKforex to exchange currencies. In that time I have transferred over quarter of a million pounds and have not had a problem. All I wanted to do yesterday was add a currency to my account. Twice I rang the customer service number and endured the dreadful noise someone thinks entertaining for 5 minutes before giving up. I emailed them and received a reply giving me a different number to use. Same abysmal service today. Rang twice for 5 minutes each time then contacted FC exchange who answered! I don't do business with companies that can't communicate.

“Why advertise the 24hr dealers if no one answers the...”

Registered for my account and was told to ring 24 hr dealer number in UK to complete account opening. Tried at 8:40pm GMT and 9pm GMT and both times no one answered. Oh well I guess I'll take my business elsewhere as first impressions count and if this is the service I receive now, imagine when there's a problem? Going elsewhere to do the FX deal! Bye

“A disgrace”

Two weeks after UKForex received my money and I still have not received the money in my account. They were very attentive and active up to the point when they received the funds to be transferred. After that nothing but delays and outright lies from them. DO NOT USE.

“very very shady”

Liked the rates of UKForex in comparison to other foreign exchange services. It took almost 1 week for beneficiary to receive money in their Australian bank account causing so much STRESS and TORTURE when all required information was included on 04/09/15 only to receive money in beneficiary account on 10/09/15. Though UKForex says no charge but I suspected were busy trading on the stock market with the money making more money whilst putting depositor and beneficiary under enormous duress. No added information needed to ensure smooth and quick transaction between depositor and beneficiary through UKForex.
