Dear Customer,

Thanks for your review. All car hire companies in Spain put a small sticker with the company name on the back but you are welcome to remove this is you prefer to!

The majority of our clients book our Ultimate package which is designed to offer a completely transparent package with no surprises. Our clients appreciate this level of transparency and it is by far our most popular package.

We do also offer a basic low cost package but with this there are excesses and this means that to keep the price low the client is responsible for any damage to the car. Naturally our advice for clients who choose this (and benefit from the lowest possible pricing) if to take our full cover which still overall adds up to a great value package but sometimes clients do just want the lowest cost so we have to make sure that they understand their obligations and responsibilities under the contract. it´s not about forcing anyone to buy anything but ensuring they are aware of what is covered and what is not.

“Horrible service!”

We rented 2 cars in Majorca. We made the reservation over the internet. The pick-up from the airport was fine and so were the cars. What was horrible was the service at the rental office. The ladies that work in the office at Palma airport are so rude you can't even imagine. I had to wait there a little while and I heart them talking to several customers. They were rude to the customers and when the customers turned their backs they were calling them names in Spanish. They are not flexible at… Read Full Review

“Awesome”

When we arrived at the Airport we did not read the floor where the pickup shuttle would be correctly, but the shuttle was there on time, due to delay on flight it waited for us. Thank you. The staff was very polite and extreme helpful, we had our rental car in a couple of minutes, and we already stood outside facing the car, and we thought what had happened. “Fast friendly service”

Rather than standing in a long queue in the airport concourse being jostled by all those around you it is so much better to be driven away from the terminal to collect your hire car - it really feels like you are making progress towards your final holiday destination. No hassle with the transfer it is a seamless operation, the staff are helpful and friendly. First time I have used Drivalia. Both at collection and return the staff were very friendly, helpful and professional.Collection took only 5 minutes but there were no directions in Alicante airport to where you pick up your car and I had to ask another rental company where I pick up my car ( shuttle bus). “Perfect experience”

We were concerned about having to take a mini-bus to the car hire office but it was easy, fast and friendly. When we arrived at the office there was no line, fast friendly service, and we were handed a new car (22km!). Similar experience when returning the car with quick check and fast minibus back to the airport with another friendly driver. A tiny tiny little scratch from some another car opening their door into our car and €240, just like that. Scratch was about 1mm outside their designated size for charging gullible tourists. We do explain scratch boundaries when you take the car but we are sorry if you feel that we were unfair. Any scratches up to 10mm are not chargeable but over this the standard scale of charges applies.

You can remove all risk by booking our Ultimate package or adding our SCDW cover but I hope that you can understand that on the low cost packages we do have to pass on damage charges in order to be able to offer cars at the prices that customers seeking a lower priced rental demand.

“Car Hire used to be so much less hassle”

I have used Drivalia many times before with little problem. Our recent experience was not a pleasant experience. There was a prompt polite pick up then hitting the check in desk. The problems always seem to be around insurance which must be there top money earner. On this occasion we had hired through a third party "doyouspain" and in addition to basic car hire had taken out their Allianz excess cover for 75 euros. We are sorry if you were unhappy with the service you received on this occasion. We will happily provide a personal reply based on your contract if you email our customer care team because our team certainly strive to deliver a great level of care and we expect this level of service which is reflected in the comments that we usually receive.

Customers who book the low cost packages always have a choice as to whether they wish to take our full SCDW cover or leave a deposit and assume the risk in the event of any damages to the car.

We do have a duty to ensure that the clients understand the charges that they will be liable for (for example scratches over 10mm etc) and the limits and exclusions associated to their liability. This should not however be delivered in any way that is deemed as aggressive in the way you have described which is why this comment comes as a surprise.

Deposits are higher on the basic car hire packages as the excesses are set at these levels to keep the costs low. It is normal practice in all car hire businesses for deposits to be left and these can very from a few hundred to a few thousand euros depending on the excess and the company.

If you choose to take insurance elsewhere then this is a contract between you and your insurers and does not remove your responsibility to us so a deposit is still needed. It is vital that customers know what damages they could be charged for to prevent surprises if a new damage occurs and the client has to be charged.

they are tricking hundreds of motorist who refuse there expensive insurance on arriving back to there Alicante compound with my disabled sister a man walked straight to the front passenger side and pointed to a scratch about the size of a finger nail and wanted 190 euro I refused to pay and they refused to let us leave the compound and I WAS FORCED TO USE A TAXI TO AIRPORT they where still able to take 190 euros from my account I contacted the credit card co and eventually received a full… Read Full Review

We are sorry if you are unhappy with being charged for a damage. Complaints about us are rare but usually come from when a client is charged for a damage. We check all cars very carefully and issue a report for all clients who take a basic package with limited cover. The report shows all damages on the car as well as the measure of damage limits. We also explain to clients to check the car to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of this report before leaving.
