Does anyone know whether or not we can insist on the drivers taking their shoes off to enter the house? We have new carpet in the hallway and on the stairs. But from previous delivery drivers they have mentioned health and safety, so they could not take off the shoes.

There seems to be a pattern here. The product is good however, if its damaged on arrival they don't want to know and it costs the customer if they try to get replacements. Look at all the reviews and its very obvious. Surely island furniture cannot blame the supplier all the time, if it was damaged from the supplier to them, why would they send it to their customers? Don't you think?

I completely agree. This has been the most ridiculous company I have ever bought from. It ought to be closed down. I don't even think they are legal - I still have miss-mathcing furniture from them because of their un-corporative way in replacing damaged goods. They have no customer skills. They are a joke.

There is certainly a pattern here. Please stay away from this company. I am so disappointed with our furniture and have failed to get an adequate response from island furniture. Anything can be damaged in transit but the expectation is that this is reviewed and managed. Looking at the volume of complaints these are not isolated incidents and buying from this company is high risk.

Yes it is an unethical company to deal with. I actually import from Indonesia ( though not bedroom furniture) and it is imperative that every item is checked before being sold due to quality issues. To send products out still in original unopened packaging then refusing to change when item is damaged is immoral and illegal. However I gave up trying to get my furniture changed and painted it myself.... Not great having spent £1000. Also several of the positive comments on the reviews are suspiciously similar!

We had a bed delivered about 8 weeks ago and it was damaged by the couriers but Island Furniture did replace with their own truck, so cannot fault them for delivery
