AVOID - Substatinal order placed and pay extra for next day delivery - Deliverty didn't show up. Left with an unhappy client. Communications confirmed that show order would be the following day - Again absolutely nothing arrived. After 4 days order arrived - At this point we have unhappy client whose event has been and gone and Solopressare unwilling to refund after not been fulfilled. Several emails back and forth blaming with varying excuses. Delays can happen - but taking ownership is key - Will not use again nor recommend. - Managing Director - Big Blue Dog

“Big let down”

I should have read last few reviews before ordering pullup banners. Before my payment I ws assured of next day delivery and late evening received email they missed deadline for parcel collection. I have been trying to reach customer services and sales dept..but no answer... Big disappointment and unprofessional Never again...

“Shocking experience”

Sadly Solopress badly let me down. I placed an order on Friday and realised straight after placing it that there were problems with it. No button to cancel the order; nobody available to help on phone or chat. I sent an email but nobody manning emails or phone over weekend. Somehow, however, my order printed and on Monday morning it was “too late” to cancel. If printing can happen over the weekend there should why not customer service too, even if more limited, in case of emergencies like this? Or at least a cancel button. I asked how to make a formal complaint and nobody had the courteous to respond to my email. Deeply disappointing :(

“Appalling service”

We have ordered thousands of pounds worth of print from them. But we have had a number of issues. The biggest is there colour shifts, we have just done a few items together printed at the right quantity to be done in litho, and the colours are massively different, even though the same images are on each. Our client rejected them rightly so. We spoke to Solo Presses customer service team then supervisor, they insisted there was no issue, though photographs of the print showed clear differences. We have had to argue our case, eventually they have offered to reprint the items but in digital to hit the client's deadline. This is the only option for us due to the timescales, so the client will have a digital job, when we paid for litho, and it will not match all there other litho printed materials. Solo Press do not see the need for any compensation on the job, apparently this is all they can offer. If I owned their business I would be alarmed at how casual the customer service supervisor about losing important clients unessesarily. It doesn't matter many jobs you put with them, it seems your job is not important to them, nor your relationship with your client.

“Very poor quality print job and abysmal customer service”

My company ordered A4+ glossy folders for a client seminar. When they arrived the quality was shoddy to the point of being unusable. The edges were not aligned, there was cracking on the folds and the business card slits had been cut landscape rather than portrait.I complained and asked for the job to be reprinted. I was asked to send photos which I did immediately. The response from was that as I had missed their error with the business card slits in the proof it was my fault and as they had overprinted by 50 folders that made up for the poor quality. I did miss the error but that does not excuse the edges of the folders not lining up because they had been constructed badly, or the cracking on the folds. The fact that they sent an extra 50 folders that I couldn't use in no way addresses the quality issues, it just meant I had an extra box to throw away.

“Quality Print, but management of deliveries needs...”

Quality of print is great, but it's the poor management of deliveries that lets them down. Despite written instructions, follow up phone calls and verbal confirmation, they still sent delivery to wrong address, causing immense inconvenience, embarrassment and additional expense to ourselves. We had to ask for a refund for the additional delivery charge we had to pay, and this was only offered after Solo said they would rather give us a discount on our next order!

“Do not order from Solopress - disaster!”

I have just received my leaflets, with a huge white line going across the artwork, which is obviously a misprint and a fault of Solopress. When called to discuss a refund I was told that they could refund me 25% of the price I paid; which is appalling. I don't have time to have them reprinted and lost my money. The customer service have no respect for the customers, money grabbing, unprofessional crowd. I will never use their services again. Lame.

“Flyers for business ”

Ordered online 5000 flyers and paid for them was promised next day delivery no chance I had email after email with excuses stay away for your own sake the first price they give you will not be the price you will pay these people should be stopped from trading never again.

“Bad Service & print quality”

I used to use solopress for a lot of printing but stopped using them as the print quality and service went downhill. A few years later I got contacted by a salesperson asking me to go back as their prices, service & quality improved. So wish I never bothered 3 jobs later all jobs are extremely bad print quality wrong colors, different colours in same batch and bad spot UV. Customer service is a joke and not helpful at all. Stay away if you want good quality or use instantprint.co.uk cheaper and better

“Worst customer service!”

I ordered some stapled brochures from jpg files which I have done on previous orders (same files, just changed some photos). The product was awful – they have compression artefacts around the text, the images are not sharp and there are red marks on some the brochures. The brochures had printed fine on the previous job. As I had an event I was forced to use some of these awful brochures, and have spent the following 2 months trying to get a reprint or refund. For the sake of 100 A5 brochures just do a reprint! I have sent emails which are ignored, I've even sent new artwork which was ignored. They have lied about the quality of my artwork, they have contradicted themselves in email communications, they have refused to answer questions about why they screwed up the printing, they have promised to call but not called, and have basically blamed me for their complete ineptitude. The staff are rude and unhelpful, and never once was my complaint dealt with as a priority. Nobody has bothered to even call me to speak about the problem, I've been put on hold for 10 or 15 minutes and also had the phone hung up on several occasions. They are refusing to refund me even though the product is - quite honestly - embarrassing quality. I would not recommend this company and will never ever order from them. They have lost all of my future orders as well as the future orders of some of my colleagues who have tried to assist me.

“great as a one off, terrible for anything more”

My first order with Solopress was great. Quick turnaround and good quality. Every other order since then has led to multiple reprints and countless emails and phone calls with a different person every time. If you need a quick one off job, then go for it. If you're trying to print business cards for an entire company and require ongoing service, consistent future printing and an account manager, look elsewhere. - I ordered a small batch for a few staff once, was happy with the results so decided to use them again later - I ordered 1 large batch of cards for our entire company. Received them but the printing quality was poor. They agreed and reprinted the whole batch. Totally fine. - Tried to order more for some other staff and received cards with totally different tones of the colour. This is the response: "I can confirm the colours will not be correct in this order because they are not supplied in CMYK. We will not be able to maintain a consistent colour if this is not supplied in a CMYK format." - Never has CYMK been requested on any of the order, and no where is it requested in the purchase process. - So now I am expected to provide a CYMK for my brand colour that may well be different to whatever the CYMK they have used on all the previous cards they have printed for us.

“Diabolical service”

Have used before with no problems, but the last 3 orders (placed within a few days of each other) have been a disaster. Appalling communication, failure to adhere to next day delivery guarantee, empty promises and a total and utter lack of understanding of their customers needs or indeed any customer service at all. Wouldn't touch again with a barge pole.

“APPALLING !!”

Appalling !! After having an amazing experience - I went back to solopress for a larger order, with a view to get work done over £1000 in total. This time around, they allocated a very junior designer - this designer was unable to get basic things like font size right in English, or the colour of the fonts. Kept asking for a new designer but to no avail- two weeks later, still the same designer and the same exact problems. Got a call from someone - customer service - told me they will have to charge me for additional work. When I asked what additional work, she could not tell me what they were and further became rude because all the changes I had asked for were correction to their mistakes and lack of attention to detail. Absolutely appalling - be careful. LATEST: Got proof back, mistakes that were corrected have been reversed! One step forward, two steps back. For Gods sake, third week now!!!

“Samples only reflect large print quality”

I ordered a sample pack to select the quality and then submitted an order and paid for 350 gsm gloss cards. Luckily I ordered a proof as the finish was appalling; the print quality was lack lustre, with little evidence of gloss card quality and the cut edges were feathered showing the white card stock. When I called there was no customer service support at all, I was transferred three times and then told the problem was that a print run of 1500 would be printed digitally but the original sample I was comparing it to was litho. Instead of helping me to find a solution they offered me a £600 litho run instead. I am sure they are fine for simple or large jobs but not the place to come for quality smaller print runs.

“Atrocious Customer Service, Misleading Pricing but...”

DELIVERY TIME: Excellent PRODUCT DESIGN & QUALITY: Excellent CUSTOMER SERVICE: Atrocious PRICING: Misleading. You may end up paying MUCH more than advertised. If you decide to use them, budget for twice as much as advertised because you never know what else you will be charged for. Trust me, they will milk you dry. ADVERTISED: £70. ENDED UP PAYING: £126. TEMPLATES: Abysmal. Nowhere near as good as Vistaprint's. Designed to make it as hard to design so that you end up being charged extortionately after being left with no choice but to use their design team who charge an arm and a leg. INSIGHT: If Vistaprint made roller banners, Solopress would struggle to sell. STARS: Zero. It is a shame you have to start at 1. Maybe one for delivering on time. WOULD I USE SOLOPRINT AGAIN?: Never. Not even at when desperate. VERDICT: I would not recommend them, not even to my enemy. Not good when things go wrong. WANT TO LEARN MORE? READ FURTHER Having tried to design a roller banner using converted to PDF, I was emailed and texted to be informed that the order had been put on hold. I rang them to find out why. A male staff member took my call and asked for my order number which, admittedly, I did not have on hand. Before I could explain, he just put the phone down. I rang again and spoke to a different person who asked for the order number. I asked him to use other order details, e.g. address, postcode etc since I did not have my order number on me. He did this and accessed my order without any problem. I was then told my PDF artwork could not be printed into a roller banner as it was A4. Instead, I had to use a template on their website. I downloaded the template only to realise it was not compatible with any software on my computer. I tried downloading a trial version of the necessary software but it was taking ages. I phone solopress again and, unfortunately, the same person answered it. He repeatedly hung up on me. When I said he was leaving me with no option but to cancell my order he asked for my post code and told me the order was now cancelled. I told him I was going to complain and hes asked what it was about and then he hung up. I phoned again and pressed a different option and spoke a different lady, more polite this time. Surprisingly, the order had not been cancelled, contrary to his claim. I asked this lady what my option was and was told to pay an additional £20 for my design to be sent to their design team to do the roller banner for me. I agreed as I really wanted this banner done and had no time to look for alternatives. After about 15 minutes I received an e-mail from someone in their design team saying that my artwork was 'pixilated' and the quality would not be good enough. For this to be improved, I was told I would need to pay an additional £45. I asked what the £20 I had been charged was for in the first place? He referred me to a different person who told me that she would remove the £20 and charge £45 instead. There was no explanation on why I had been charged £20 and then £45. They exploited the fact that I needed the banner urgently. What they forgot was that I would not be using the again. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. They are absolutely abysmal when things go wrong. If you are 100% sure things will never go wrong, then go ahead and use them. Otherwise DON'T. CG.

“Poor from start to finish”

I spoke to a member of staff about my requirements and was advised that they would be able to fulfill everything. On the first day I had sent my requirements via email and advised that additional graphic design will take another day. Taking that on board I followed up the next working day and was met with that it will not go any further until full payment is made otherwise there will be further delays. After payment I followed up and was advised that it had gone to the design team (11:40). Following up 3 hours later through live chat (avoid if possible) and telephone I was advised it was being assigned to the design team (14:40). At 16:40 I followed up again and told that no one was working on it, I explained the situation and within 25 minutes I had the proof. After speaking with several members of the solopress staff I was advised that they work until 18:00 but they understood the urgency of my requirements and pointed out that it will be on the 1st delivery the next day to apologise. After chasing again on delivery day at 10:00 I have established that it was not sent out on the 1st van but will be going out on the 10am van due to quality control. I have found out that solopress staff will say whatever they need to so you get off the phone but never provide a actual answer. I also have never been contacted by solopress when they have said they would come back to me.
