The co. stated they sent the goods but after 2 weeks they had not arrived. After many emails they stated that they had sent the items again but still there was no deivery. We ordered a jacket for my sons Christmas present 7th Dec Chased every week or so till 28th Feb by which time I requested a refund. Chased this several times after emails to and fro advising refund was being done and they apologise for the delays...... 5th April and still no refund. Bought a pair of boots and two pairs of trousers online back in november. I received an email two days later telling me that none of the goods were in stock. Even thou it had said on their site that they were in stock. The boots arrived at the end of january with a note saying that the trousers would be arriving shortly. They never did. I wrote the above article last night. As i live in Ireland i was told to ring The European Consumer Rights [I think thats what their called]. They are based in Dublin. They told me to email them all transactions and emails i had with Surplus and Adventure. And to get on to my bank. Since this was all earlier on today i had not got round to doing any of the above. Earlier today i rang surplus and adventures head office. Not surprisingly there was no answer. I rang a number of times and still no answer. So i decided to ring their store again and ask for a phone number of someone in charge. I was told that they had no phone numbers of anyone above them and that they only email each other. I said i dont believe you and pretty much let rip into the fella. I told them that i had reported the company. The guy asked for my order number and gave me an email address of a lady to email. I went out for an hour and came back to find an email telling me that my money had been refunded to my account. RESULT. But took 3 months of emails to get it. My advice to anyone in the same position as i was, is report them to anyone that will listen and anyone that can help you. Ring their store and tell them that you are reporting them. Tell them how long youve been waiting for your refund. Kick up a storm on the phone. Good luck to anyone that is in the same position as i was. And remember do not buy from Surplus and Adventure.

Only wish I could give Zero stars. After goods I ordered hadn't been received I asked for a refund and was informed that they had cancelled my order and would refund. Despite emailing them every week for 3 months all they said was I will pass to our accounts to issue refund. You will never receive a refund. In the end I contacted Citizens Advice who logged a complaint and went to my bank Manager, Lloyds TSB. “Never use them, ever.”

After ordering a pair of trousers that were 'in stock' on the website, an email arrived a short while later saying the item was out of stock and would be sent as soon as it came in. After a month a chase email was sent, they responded saying 'we are sorry, the goods haven't come through in our normal order' etc. etc. After another month an email was sent cancelling the order and asking for a refund. “Still waiting for a refund six months after purchase”

Ordered a watch in August 2012 for a holiday. Missed start of holiday. Waited until New Year for delivery. Asked for refund in January. Still waiting in March. Next step will be to ask VISA for a charge-back to my payment. But this is a major faff over a fairly small purchase. Also of note, their admin dept is very polite and prompt in delivering its excuses - invariably their suppliers' fault. This is clearly part of their 'flatter and forget' business model. My suggestion is contact worcsregservice who is investigating this company from Worcestershire Regulatory Services - I have just had a letter from them as I ordered goods valued at £77 April 2012 - after reading terrible reviews when the goods hadn't arrived two months later, I cancelled the order, and after constantly badgering, emails, posting on various blogs etc, I got a refund in September 2012! DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THEM !

I ordered boots on the 12th November. it is now January 18th and I still haven't received them. Its snowing and I'm currently taping my shoes together because I cant afford new ones whilst waiting for these . Im in the same boat. Ordered a jacket early november and waited 3 weeks before i chased it only to be told it wasn't in stock and they had no idea when they could get it!
Promptly requested a refund and it's now 3 month since they took my £80!!

i honestly feel like driving the 4 hours there and storming in!

i get poor responses to my e-mails loosely saying 'i don't know whats going on' and i've yet to speak to someone on the phone as no-one answers!!

I called continually and didnt get through at all. So i called their sales department, told them to tell their other department I was reporting them to trading standards (which I did), that I wanted to speak to them (and he told me he wasnt connected to them and only dealt with sales, that I wanted their direct number (which he said there is only one and they mainly deal through emails so I should email which I did twice with no response). 5 days later I received an email saying sorry they didnt get back to me, what would I like to be done. I demanded a refund. I am still waiting for that refund. If its not here in a few days i am going to contact the sales man again and demand he gets their manager or whoever over and I will stay on the phone until they come, then if nothing happens, report them.

We paid on ordering and when after 2 weeks they hadn't arrived we emailed a complaint and were told we could not have a refund as in the small print we had to wait 28 working days for delivery.
