i am in e situation and after 25 days of call and letter from my solicitor i have not news about my money , any call to customer service is a waist of time they just ask to fill a claim and wait, my accounts frozen and all my money from personal and business account transfered to manchester premier ,

I have been with barclays for nearly 2 years and after finding out they had wrongly been taking money out my account for business essentials that i didnt even need and told the business manager i would not need signed me up for them anyway after complaining i am getting nowhere i have had no contact off the business manager of the 2 years ive been with barclays i am moving to natwest with a helpful and friendly business manager and will NEVER use barclays again! If you are thinking of banking with Barclays especially for business then please DON'T. They are totally inefficient. I am still waiting two months down the line to get a debit card in the correct business name. I have only just received a correct cheque book and paying in book after 8 incorrect ones ( of each) were sent out. How are you supposed to run a small business when you can't access your money? in these trying times i was court unaware, in retrospect i should have had my wits about me. i was appalled how easy it is for a banking business manager to be mistaken for a used car sales person. i should have read the signs, the managers constant babbling was not over exuberance but compensation for lack of knowledge and that bright and bubbly was a mask for ineptitude. Perhaps I have been incredibly fortunate with my Small Business Manager (Nadim at Halifax branch) but he has provided me with a faultless service in every respect. I had a questionable credit history and was turned down by NatWest but Nadim battled to get me an account and was successful (after four weeks!). He has remained proactive and the customer service is wonderful. I wish I had never set up a business account with Barclay's. They are expensive, slow and at times quite incompetent. It can take ages to actually speak to someone via telephone banking and then they can be most unhelpful. I would not recommend them and would advise people to look elsewhere. Cards sent in the post have failed to arrive and you cannot query this in the branches. As for speaking to your business adviser - forget it, you won't get through!… Read Full Review

I hold a business account running for the last 6 months fine no problems in it. Yesterday suddenly when i checked my balance the account the balance is zero, £64000 is taken from the account.

I have been with Barclays for over 40 years and feel that they are dealing with me very shoddily. The only times they ever want to make contact is to tell me how they are increasing my charges and indeed today advised that they now require a personal guarantee for my modest overdraft facilities. I have large mostly ungeared personal assets and it suits me to run a small business overdraft ususally running between 5 and 15% of turnover. Sick and tired of dealing with Barclay staff that seem to be incapable of doing their job to a satisfactory standard. Their fees are high for the services they provide.
They continually put a stop on my business card when trying to buy things for the business over the internet and have never received a courtesy call when they have done so.

I formed a company and went to open account with Barclays, they asked to take up one of their services with up front fee and monthly charges, I told them I didn't need them, and two days later received a letter saying they could not open my account. at first it was great. Brilliant Brilliant business manager, used to Text me drop me e-mails a really pro-active guy. Unfortunately he left! The useless waste of space they put in his place...well put it this way he took over 3 months ago and I still havent been told that I have a new account manager.

Been with Barclays for over 15 years experiencing good and bad times in my business. Only reason I've not changed is because I couldn't be bothered with all the paperwork etc.
Help is there when you don't need it and not available when you do. So fed up with attitudes that even though the business is quite stable presently, am investigating offers from other banks for the first time… Read Full Review

shocking bank!, have banked with them for 4 years, went £200 overdrawn initially, am now 4500 overdrawn 3500 is in charges am getting charged more than i can put in, am totaly trapped by the b******s and now i cant set up another account anywhere else because they have ruined my credit rating, do yourselves a favour people and stash your money under a floorboard!!!

Assured when I started with Barclays that all Business Accounts were handled in UK with no Indian call centres used. Immediately I discovered all IT was handled in India. Later I dicovered that ALL business goes through India. Getting hold of your business manager means hanging on at the Indian call centre until they can track him down, after asking for your account and pass details 3 times... there must be a better way!!!… Read Full Review

Very simply, the worst bank I have ever dealt with. I cannot begin to explain the trouble that I have had! I am a small new business that has grown beyond expectations, the bank simply did not want to help and further more have created problems. I am unable to make international payments!
