The staff were friendly, brill service. The food was great (second time I've been here in as many weeks) and would recommend to anyone. Reasonably priced, great value for money. The fact that they serve real ales is a massive bonus!!

Went for Sunday lunch with my granddaughter, waited 20 mins to be served but we were a bit taken aback when they were only serving 2 meats, i'm sure the menu states choice of 4 meats, apart from that satisfied.

since the new manager took over the place has gone to pot. All he wants to do is post notices up warning bout this that and the other and then has to have team meetings etc closing the Carvery early . What's the point of having a team bonding night which yet again Carvery was closed at 9pm when more than half the staff are all from the same family. How many other carverys have done this. Wait till Christmas time yet again if you want a late meal goodness knows what time they will close but you can bet their excuse will be something stupid.

Went to a pub whilst on holiday Scarborough, scalby manor, tried to use a gift card i had been given but wouldn't work, told it was "invalid" so had to use my own money. the meal was fine the staff were good and overall pub was also good, just the card didn't work. contacted m and b dining card services only to be pushed from one to the other. in the end the pub manager contacted me and offered a gift card of the same amount until "guest Services" sort out mine. this came in the form of a text message, i tried to use it at my local crown carvery only to be told the same as the original gift card"Invalid". i then contacted the CEO email, only to get his secretary to reply saying, once again, this had been passed on to the relevant managers and i would have a response in 7 days...... now 15 + days later and no reply tried emailing the secretary but no reply. M AND B DINNING CARD CUSTOMER SERVICES are not what they say they are ....they are more like Avoid the problem services. I did try the original car at a Toby Inn and the card worked so obviously Crown Carveries Dining card readers are not compatible. I am still waiting for someone, anyone to contact me to resolve this problem. Overall i think the customer services stink and ever wonder pubs are closing down at a rate of knots if this is how you treat your customers.

We arrived at the Squirrel on Bispham Rd early evening on Tuesday 29th Sept 2015. We were told they had problem with the "steamers" & could only serve fish or 1/2 chicken in the carvery. We settled & paid for 1 of each only to find that not only was the menu restricted but also the veg- mushy peas or baked beans ! We noticed a number of tables with reserved notices on. As we sat eating people started to arrive & sat at these tables. Soon there were around 20+ & only sitting with drinks ! Why if there were problems in the kitchen, were these people not advised ? I believe the "steamers" problem was a ruse & that as soon as the non-reserved customers left, the serving area would miraculously be replenished with the usual fare for the "reservists". It turned out they were all in Mercedes cars ,so appeared to be a club do ! Better if the staff had been more honest. Having spoken to someone during our stay (a local) they said the standards at the Squirrel had become very poor.

Turned up at Princess Alice in Thamesmead for breakfast buffet and had to wait ages for eggs. When I asked for scrambled eggs - kitchen staff laughed in my face. Had to request well cooked eggs which by the time they arrived the tea that we ordered @ £1.69 a pop was freezing cold. PROS: nice atmosphere, cheap food. CONS: poor service, inconsistent breakfast offering, having to keep yelling and waiting for food! Won't be going back.

paid for large carvery only to be told when we eventually got food no sausages would be another 15 mins. Waited in long queue for food, table next to us waiting staff cleared drinks thinking they had gone, table was left for so long. when we got meals the veg was luke warm or dried up. Carving chef kept disappearing had to ask for gravy as did several other people. on the plus side I will not be going to this carvery again would be nice to know of non available items felt short changed no offer of alternative item

Awful meal days old food bad taste with miserable carvery chef and uneadable food that you could not cut. Staff were falling out with one another so it made for hirrible atmosphere and vibe. No customer service or helpfulness you were left to your own devices. Filthy toilets and a manager in a tracksuit and woolly hat very professional!! Never again will I go avoid it at all cost we left starving.

We had a family gathering so 18 of us went to the carvery at Peacehaven, sussex. Service was very slow and bar staff were non-existent. The poor lad waiting tables was run off his feet due to lack of staff. We finally got some food which seemed ok despite the stuffing being like granite. Then at 7pm they put signs up saying the kitchen was closed... they had run out of meat! how is that possible at a carvery on a Saturday night. Ok their other carvery down the road had shut because of no hot water so had a lot of extra booking but even so running out of meat...seriously! So any customers who had tables booked after ours would get nothing. After a long wait for deserts when they arrived most were barely edible, some were sickly sweet and some were just just soggy and mediocre, most got half eaten and left. It was a family get together so let that pass as it wasn't worth the hassle and after such a long wait we didn't want to be there till next xmas waiting for replacements. When paying the bill they then billed us for coffees from another table which had to be sorted. Then the next day we all started with food poisoning, one after the other it affected all of us that had the carvery, about 15 out of 18 were affected at last count. Just what you need when some of us had to then drive 300 miles home. Will we go again... not in this lifetime!

WE visited wistaston manor crown carvery on 30/10/2014.we had our meal about 3pm food was barely warm roast potatoes very hard .the presentation of the carvery was a mess .we realise this is a quieter time of day, but the food should be the same standard what ever time o day. We have had many meals there before and they have been good. Can not believe standards have dropped since a week ago !!!!

We regularly go to the Crown Carvery at the Old Quay in Parkgate, Wirral and have enjoyed the experience. However, recently they have acquired a new carver. Our first introduction to his carving skills was one of horror. The meat was so thin you could see through it like a rizla. Plenty of swarf of the plate and not one slice. Upon complaining, I was told he was in training. Every time we now go, we try to avoid him and his unique carving skills, but unfortunately, on Tuesday 26th August 2014 there was no other option. He had a knife in hand and was on full form carving with his usual razor-like skill. All customers looked on in horror hoping that they would change the carver before their turn; but unfortunately this was not to be and our day was spoilt again. On complaining to the management, I was told I should not have eaten my meal and showed the manager the "evidence" so she could confront him. Upon informing her that other customers would complain, she then took the smart move and moved him away from the meat. I hope I do not have a repeat of this experience on my next visit and will update my review.

We have been going to the Wheatsheaf Inn at Mollington Chester for quite a few years Four of us went on Thursday at 6 30 pm there was only gammon left on the carvery, enough for eight people, some of the veg was finished and there wasn't any more there was fish or sausage but not much of that. The meal The gammon was awful and the veg was dry. It was very embarrassing as the people wetook had never been and we had told them it was a great place to eat

My husband and I have a carvery during the week, and when we went today (sunday) we found that the veg had not changed from in the week it was the same old same old, nothing is any different from the week and I don't know how on earth they charge more for a Sunday lunch. The tables are not cleared or cleaned, for people to sit down. When handed plates to get your selection they feel like they have been washed in potato water. There is no organisation . NEED I GO ON! Could there be a training issue?

do not be in a hurry at the bar . young girl serving at bar was totally inefficient.all this while another member of staff was sat in the public area playing with her mobile! The entire premises could do with a good deep clean!Food , however was good and was good value for money.
