Used holiday discount before and got great deals but that has all changed now. The prices they put up now change when u go to book them and even tho they giv u refencce number they giv u a different price when u go to book it.. saved a few hundred euro booking flights on edreams and the same hotel on same dates on booking.com. pity really as they were a great service in the past

tried on four occasions to book a holiday with two different companys through holiday discount centre they both use the same ruse the holiday seems to be available until you decline their offer to arrange baggage and transfers which they do at greatly inflated prices then the holiday is suddenly not available at the stated price but they will find you another one at a much dearer price they are a waste of the phone call I am now awaiting a response from holiday discounts complaint department

I wanted to book a holiday to Boa Vista in Cape Verde . Thankfully I know the Cape Verdian islands very well as the Package holiday has flights to one island and accommodation in another island. Any poor person booking to go to boa vista will be stranded in Sal or have to pay a further 150euros (approx)to get a flight to Boa Vista. Be very careful and check all details first

Stay well clear from them! The price you see is not the price you pay. We booked a package holiday with them, they taken the money out of our bank account & then told us the fhotel was full & had to book another hotel. They were very very misleading & told us brilliant things about the hotel in which this was not true at all when we looked online. So we asked for a refund & they said no, the only thing they could do was offer us another hotel at a cost! A further £200. Then told us the supervisors were busy & to ring back, eventually when we rang back up to book it they wanted another £200 so in total £400 on top of what we already paid! So yes be aware of this company...

Went through everything with them hotel, flights, luggage and transfers came to the price advertised, gave them my bank details and thought that was that. Oh no 10 mins later got a phone call saying it will cost an extra £82 as the flight had just gone up do me a favour it was that price agreed on booking, told them to refund my card with the deposit. Never again will i deal with this company they are a complete joke and very rude. SO BE WARNED STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY

Rang HOLIDAY DISCOUNT CENTRE up today as we were attracted by their Cape Verde All-inclusives. We fancied going to PRAIA as we'd previously been to BOA VISTA. The person I dealt with gave us the details from Manchester (including Flight Times with THOMAS COOK or THOMSON).- What a farce !! I've checked with EXPEDIA, OPODO and MANCHESTER AIRPORT. There are no DIRECT FLIGHTS from MANCHESTER to PRAIA - ONLY INDIRECT VIA PORTUGAL (about 15 hours). ONLY GLAD I CHECKED BEFORE BOOKING !! MANY THANKS TO THIS REVIEW SITE - AND TO THE POOR UNFORTUNATE PEOPLE WHO GOTTAKEN IN.

I used to site to book a holiday to Cyprus price was over £100 more than wjat is advertised the man said the one i saw meant changing flights so I went with there expensive one only to be told at the end of the booking that myself and friend would have to pay £16 each In additional fees which was wrong as they should have informed me at the start of the booking and to add insult they took £32 each! I queried it and they said they would refund by £32 by cheque which 6 weeks later i am still waiting for!!! Avoid at all costs much better sites out there

I saw a few great deals which i could not match myself for Cuba at xmas that the HDC showed. I did read the reviews on here but thought i would try them anyhow. I finally agreed a price including the £29 per person online surcharge which they tell you right at the end. They said they would call me back to confirm once it was confirmed. They called me back 15 minutes later, telling me that xmas is expensive (i know) and that the price is £252 more than what was agreed. I could do better myself so i did. If you get a great deal then fantastic, just be careful....and do your research.

This company is worse than terrible, STAY AWAY! The holidays advertised are not actually available or booked, even when you make the phone call and pay, despite the lady stating it is all booked and confirmed. Moreover their partners Travelate and Travel23 access your method of payment and book holidays that you did not request or confirm, in order to legally justify accessing your funds. Disgusting company!! The prime focus of their partners was to take monies from an entire family, with young disabled children, for something that was not actually available or even booked, despite being advertised and confirmed on the phone.

Waste of time. When you phone the Barton price is gone and you'll only save £20 at best. And it gets worse. They then send you spam SMS/text measages! Which claim you can stop them, But the texts are from a short code, the number they give is a short code so may be a premium rate text number!

Over the last 3 years or more I have looked at the prices on line having first put all the travel details in ,ie dates etc etc and when I ring up the cost can go up by hundreds of pounds plus the usual baggage and transfers on top of that. I will never ring them ever again and if I go on their web site it will be by accident. My advise is to avoid this company at all costs and my next step is to report them to the otbonldson and any other trades association.

So alls well that ends well...... We thought we had booked a holiday last week to travel from Belfast to Tenerife. The last I spoke to was not the best speaking and having thought it was booked. A few hours after she called me back and told me she had made a mistake and that I need to pay another £178 each......I said no This was meant to be a cheap holiday and I had promised my 5 year old grandson a trip so I tried again. I spoke to a person at Travelate who was really sympathetic and listened to my needs i.e. cheap and travelling asap. Anyway he found me a lovely hotel in gran Canary which we checked and booked. Paperwork foollowed a few hours later and the next day we were on our way Having returned yesterday I cannot thank him enough for sorting it out. We had a lovely time and I promised I would write and say so

“Its all a farce!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Alyson91 on 01/05/2017

I am writing this review after spending two full days and numerous phone calls to Holiday Discount Centre to try to book a short weekend break for my stepdaughter. I saw a couple of holidays which were the right dates/times and the right price for her, I phoned up to book and was assured that the price I had seen was the price I would pay. I was booking 3 nights all inclusive at a cost of £104 per person (no transfers as they are hiring a car). I double checked before giving my card details and was told that it would be £104 per person times two making the total £208. I then said yes please book this deal for £208 for me. I was phoned back 15 minutes later to be informed that the hotel had sold out however he could offer me an upgrade at my expense, bringing the entire 3 night holiday from the original £208 to £375 for the same accommodation and board basis!! Stupidly thinking that perhaps it was true and it had just sold out I phoned with 3 further deals and when I attempted to book one the price had gone up by £200!!!! I think it is safe to say that this is mis-representation in the extreme in order to get further money from you and the 'advertised' prices are false. When I complained about such blatant price increases I was patronised, lied to and just generally treated like the fool which they must have hoped I would be. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Not impressed at all. Don't be fooled by advertised prices”

written by BigOrmo on 09/02/2017

Booked a Holiday to Puerto Banus for two adults. Price advertised was something like from £129 p/p bed and breakfast flight included from Belfast. Fair enough got me interested. Phoned and the cost came to £445 after all the fees etc got added. Real joke. Next bit was even better. I agreed and paid foolishly. Flight was to leave early in the morning which suited us tbh. I recieved a call from the company informing me that the flight was no longer available and they would put me on a later flight that day. This in essence was going to take a day off our trip. Best bit was they wanted another £100 for this flight!!!!!! After informing my partner she was going on holiday I had no real option at this point however not impressed. So I paid £545 now !!!! Next bit is the best bit. Work annual leave sort for both of us arrangements made for kids etc when I received email I state again email details of the holiday. It now showed us on the early flight as originally agreed. I was not informed of this until I read it. I called the company asking to speak to the rep who dealt with the holiday informing them of my concern. I was told he will call me back. 5 mins later my partner gets a call on her mobile from another person representing the rep!!!!! Obviously not wanting to speak to me as I had and still have great reservations of where my £100 went. They couldn't answer satisfactory. Not recommended at all. I asked for a refund of the £100 to which they refused. By writing this a thing I have never done a fact in itself show how unimpressed I am. I am hoping to save others from getting treated like this.

“Booked all inclusive holiday from Cardiff to Benidorm...”

written by on 09/01/2017

Booked all inclusive holiday from Cardiff to Benidorm last night, rung me this morning to say indirect flight which would result in a stop over in Barcelona for 7 hrs,or we could pay extra for a direct flight the following day, not acceptable for us but we have now had to pay a £100 cancellation fee, with an arrogant sales rep which resulted in him saying if you can find cheaper good luck with that! Wish I had read all the reviews first, do not use guys!

I rang about a holiday which was from £467pp,when I rang to book they said the price was £1136pp.when I said I should pay about £500 they quickly said the holiday for the price advertised was not available any more,I said that was a quick answer, and continued to insist on the price of £467pp.I was told the price was £1136 again and I declined the holiday.I emailed customer services at holiday discount centre and they eventually talked to me on the phone, they said SUNSHINE HOLiDAYS who the holiday is with (and told me the price of £1136)got it wrong and it was £1136 for two people, holiday discount centre said sunshine holidays would ring me and sort this out.But as of yet I have had NO phone call or email as promised.I advise all who get this situation contact Trading standards and report it like I did.

“Very hit and miss with pushy sales”

★★☆☆☆

written by Kash1016 on 07/09/2016

This site is good if you get the advertised price but often its restricted to either just a few seats or rooms. It seems that the trick is to lure you in then get someone pushy to give you the same holiday at a higher price. Don't get me wrong it still can be cheap but a 30% or so typical uplift is not a meagre thing. I have booked two holidays from this site and had numerous calls to enquire after others. Let me save you alot frustration and time by recommending that when you give the reference advertised you clarify either that you are only interested in the advertised holiday price or specify a budget. One thing that you get a lot is pushy sales, don't give out your phone number or email unless your actually booking as its an invitation to bombard you with deals that are significantly more than the one you were after. Also vast difference in hotels and what i do is type in each hotel I'm interested into google and see overall reviews and facilities. £200 holiday in a 3* hotel with good reviews is likely to be far better than a £180 holiday in a 3* hotel with pants reviews. Further the advertised holiday prices can often include a transfer or invariably late flying times as they are the cheapest. You may be lucky and get the occasional decent one but just bear this in mind - obviously for a few quid more you can get better times. It is annoying that you have to ring to get flight details. Generally just be patient, research appropriate hotels, persevere but don't get taken in by pushy sales.

Hi, Regarding your question about cancelling your recently booked holiday. It would really depend on the Company with whom you booked, so take a look at the small print. In the meantime find the link for the Citizens Advice Bureau, it will give you a better idea of your rights as a customer.  Good Luck

I'm guessing that you are not doing an online check in, which is usually free of charge and you print out your own tickets, or use an e- ticket which is also free. Check again to clarify what the £40.00 charge is for and ask the holiday provider for an alternative way to check in. Hope it helps

Just keep calling them or speak to your bank if you paid by card about getting a full refund . I had the sand trouble they are notorious for advertising one price then charging another price. I would never use this company again, I have used them twice and had nothing but trouble . Get your money back if you can and book with some one else as they don't even sort out problems on your holidays if you have any. I Seriously don't know how this company as not been prosecuted for fraud by now. Good luck

They usually take 2-3 days to confirm by e mail but check your e mail carefully to check it has the correct information. With ours they overcharged and I had to wait for a refund. It was very complicated but seems as though you will be ok if they have took the correct amount out if your bank. You can always ring their customer services and complaints if you don't receive this e mail and ask them to e mail it while your on the phone but be careful as the call works out expensive. Good luck

There isn't even a thing about how much I still need to pay etc. There is no information for when the rest of the holiday needs paying by ... I had problems with this company too in more ways than one. your better off ringing their customer services and complaints department.. Have they not even sent you an e mail of confirmation? If need be contact trading standards as many all ready have and they will help. Also when you speak to the customer services tell them because of their incompetence you have had to make expensive calls and tell them you will be sending them the bill, which is what I have done. Good luck on sorting it out. Try customer services first

Now they refuse to pay it back. Their customer service is terrible, all of them are angry and telling different things and lies to you!!!
