“Overcharging on bills by thousands!”

Business Been with Oous since Jan 2013 after told they were supplier for Scottish Power.. seriously! They are not! Moved business premises to another shop on the same walk Way, so same street different numbers. opus removed £293 out of my account without notice or paper bill.paid it put up with it moved. New shop is again supplied with Opus! Not good. I've left shop in Jan 2015, yo be sent a final bill of £1750.00 !! 7000 units different from the meter reading Ive given. When Opus Energy are unable to collect on a bill they send a letter supposed to be from a debt recovery company called Abbott Debt Recovery Ltd which is a company owned by Opus Energy this is an illegal activity, I know I recently worked for them

This company have ruined our lifes literally they closed us down by removing our gas meter for a debt they created false warrant impersonated a judge fought them for 2 yrs no help off anyone, we lived our business but lost all customers when they took our gas as it was gas we needed as our dryers were gas n water to be heated also they are dispicable just done a channel 5 docu about what thwy have done to us

“Missing Information”

Recently moved my business to Opus received all the paperwork detailing my account information .... just 1 thing missing they have failed to tell me who the supplier is so in the event of total loss of supply I know who to call. I have to wait until Opus open to find out who my supplier is. “Substantial overcharge and delayed refund”

I was only a customer of Opus for 3 months or so. They managed to overcharge for the whole period by such a margin that what had been paid by the end of month 2 was more than the total due. Needless to say, their demand for prompt payment don't apply when they are refunding. I am being inundated with cold calls from energy brokers to such an extent I have installed a BT call guardian which has prevented UK based cold calls but has now power over withheld or offshore calls. Since 10th Nov I kept receiving phone calls from Opus and various other suppliers claiming that my energy account is in danger and I need to urgently sign a contract with them. We were looking to move in to new premises were opus had been the supplier however the previous tenant had the electric supply cut off !! We called opus to ask how much they would charge before we signed up for the tenancy agreement. The worst energy company I have ever had the displeasure to deal with (and I've dealt with NPower). For the first four months I've been with them over charging by up to 1000%...yes 1000% every month, even with meter reading. I took over a new business in April 2014, the previous owner was with Opus. I changed the energy supplier and things were going smooth. Opus have made our health suffer so much infact we had to give our much loved business up a few wk ago we clung on for 17 months but it was affecting our health, opus created a debt for us we didnt owe then got an illegal warrant and took our gas meter 17 months we fort them lost all our customets n now lost our business but im not stopping there im taking them to court i have all the evidence of the debt they created and i wont stop till this company is brought to justice they are the most corrupt ignorant dispicable energy firm i have ever known they need closing down

I've never had a contract with Opus and that is the problem. I recently took over a pub and started a contract with Eon, all with problems. Apart, that is from the ten days between taking on the pub and the Eon contract coming in to effect. The previous tenant used Opus, so in the transition period they continued to supply the premises. I currently pay £200 per month for electricity. Usage is fairly static as the same items are used for the same time each day. The only extra usage is the oven… Read Full Review

This has exactly happened with us ! Opus had demanded payments for the period when I was not in contract with them and they are charging absolutely ridiculous amount of money for that transitional period. Despite raising my concerns they have referred the matter to the debt recovery company. To make matters worse , rather Opus forwarding the limited company details , they have passed on my personal details to the debt collection company whereas the so called bills were addressed to the limited company. I have refused to pay.

I have had a long standing disagreement with Opus energy regarding alleged out of contract rates. I am still a paying customer. This morning I received a personal charging order in the sum of £8500. Yes over EIGHT THOUSAND POUNDS. “Scamming Cold Callers”

This company cold me today saying I was owed £573.69 for over payments on my energy bills, they then proceeded to ask for my energy provider, card details and bank address allegedly to 'verify that I was the right person to refund this money to'. We were strong-armed into signing up with Opus on a temporary as we had just moved into new premises - however we wish we had read this review first ... we had no long term commitment so we rapidly switched to EON after 2 weeks. Meanwhile the first we heard from Opus was a terse and very rude person demanding £688 for 2 weeks supply (while the shop was empty) and threatening legal action on our first contact with the firm.
