I put in my claim to recover PPI in October. I've had to do all the chasing. I called today for an update, said it's now with the FOS and could take another 6-9 momths!!! Website says claim back in within 8 weeks. I've got friends who claimed elsewhere after I did, they've had their money and spent it!Don't bother with these. Wish I'd read these reviews before. I agree. We have exactly the same situation with this company. I was told our claim was successful in December 2010 and have still not received any money yet BT are claiming that we are seriously overdue with our payment to them.
I also wish we had never heard of them.

I would like to note as with other recieved confirmation back in dec for a settlement which we accepted,was informed that cheque would be sent to BT and they would forward rest to us.We are now end of March and still waiting.Although i do have correspondece from finnance dept every secon day looking for payment.I have now informed them that no fee should be paid as no settlement has been recieved,keep getting excuse after excuse that company have not sent them amount, so I now am threatening… Read Full Review

All I can OMG!!!! They are the worst company imaginable. I have been made an offer of settlement from Cental Finance, which has been accepted, but sadly Central Finance cannont pay out for several months. I have now had a threatening phone call from BT demanding payment for their services. What services? no payment has been received and doesnt look like I am actually going to recieve it. I have since found out BT was paid by Welcome finance on 17/1/2011, still have not recieved money from BT now they are saying that because Welcome has not sent written confirmation of breakdown of payment(it was higher than original claim by a small amount)and (they were given it verbally) they are unable to give me the money until this is recieved. since sending proof of payment from my PPI provider to Belmont Thornton along with a letter of complaint threatening the Minister Of Justice i received my cheque 9 days later. I suggest anybody who is waiting and has waited what could be considered an unreasonable amount of time take the same action, it seems they only spring into life when a letter of complaint is made and the MOJ mentioned. Belmont Thornton have bar far the worst customer service i have ever come accross, if your thinking of claiming your ppi back choose another company. I made a ppi claim against Welcome finance through Belmont Thornton which took over 12 months to process, after they recieved my compensation they held it in there account almost 8 weeks, Welcome wrote to me advising me that they had not actually paid me enough compensation back in December 2010 Belmont Thornton have been holding my compensation… Read Full Review

Belmont and Thornton what a complete joke! July 2010 I put in a claim for Welcome finance filled in countless forms and sent off proof of my PPI's Janurary this year was delighted to find my claim had been successful and would be recieving my cheque shortly after. A week later i recieved a letter which was an invoice for their services, i phoned them up and was told not to worry as they will deduct the money from my cheque and send me the rest, I was also advised this could take up to 28 days… Read Full Review

Started my claim in October 2010, at first it seemed really good got the welcome pack within days, then sent that off about 4 weeks later sent me a form to fill in why my i think my ppi is invalid, sent that off then waited about 8 weeks before i got a letter saying that i won my claim and i just needed to sign it and send it back.so three weeks later i phoned up to see what was going on and they told me that welcome have refused the sign agrement as it was missing/blank so they would need to… Read Full Review

Two words sum up Belmont Thornton - "Absolute Shambles". In November of last year i had a letter advising my claim had been a success as well as advising me the amount to expect by refund cheque - great i think! I called them about a month later to be told they're waiting for the money to be sent to them, "fair enough" i think. This is for anyone who has had a succesfull claim but has had problems getting their cheque. I had same problem and got so angry i took it further ring the Ministry of Justice on 020 3334 3555 follow the instructions and then tell them your problem with BT. They got intouch with BT for me and guess what i had my cheque within a week, this after two months of non successfull phone calls to BT. Good Luck… Read Full Review

I have several claims going through them which have not been dealt with like they say.
I was paid out by one credit card comapny but as i had an outstanding balance they credited it to that and i stilled owed Belmont Thornton 25% which i paid back over four months but as of today they still claim i havent paid for two of the months although i have proved with bank statements it has been paid. As with all others I made a claim through Belmont Thornton and without the money being in my acount they sent demands for payment. Despite several calls and confirmation from my bank that the claim would not be settled for up to 8 weeks this company are sending treatening letters. I have let them know that I will not settle this claim until the money owed to me is in my bank. I say to others do not use these for they are expensive and not very nice to deal with. Please Please do not use this company, I have an outstanding claim which has been settled, am still awaiting cheque from Belmont Thornton, as with other users of this firm I am being bombarded daily with request for settlement of invoice. the 21/12/2010 and as of today 15/02/2011 no cheque. Customer servuce isnt worth a star and no return phone calls. Last sunday i had two txts and four emails demanding payment of thier invoice. The company we had the PPI claim with paid the money direct to Belmont Thorntonw are still waiting on our cheque from them. We have made numerous phone calls to them but have got one excuse after the other.
