Spent hours ringing. On hold blah blah.... Arranged two replacement bikes after finding that most of the bikes on replacement website were not available. Assured bikes would arrive soon. “Awful, awful, awful”

Had to use this lot for insurance claim. Repeated calls, on hold for over 45 mins. Goalposts coninually moving. Despite lengthy conversations about stem and handlebar sizes fitted at no cost originally by LBS (as you would expect) Wheelies refused, then team leader claimed conversation had never taken place. “Terrible Service”

Placed the order over a couple of weeks ago and they will not ship until they have every product. I understand but it's not my problem, happy to wait for the extra's but I really needed the bike sooner. I was passed over to Wheelies by my insurance broker, Protect Your Bubble (who, incidentally, provided a great customer service and were nothing but attentive in their communications. Sadly I won't be buying insurance with them again after the debacle of dealing with their [referred supplier, Wheelies) I was told by PYB that the turnaround time for replacing my broken bicycle would be about 2 weeks. “Avanti giro 1 road bike from Wheelies”

Having looked at a load of options I had almost settled on a Merida when I came across this new bike from New Zealand ( yes, I know they make them in Taiwan ). It speced up on par with the Mereida but was a shade lighter. When I checked on line most places had it for £599, with a couple at £499. Wheelies Direct Bike Replacement and Wheelies online bike store are 2 different sides of the company!!!!! People do not realise this and slate wheelies when bikereplacement are trying very hard to meet the insurance company demands and the customer demands! I understand that some of this on the bikereplacement side can be tightened up to give off a better customer based service, but lots of this is what we are instructed by the ''Customers Insurance Policy''

Wheelies mail order side of things have an absolute solid platform and are extremely customer focused! Great deals, helpful and knowledgeable staff with the odd Super Deal thrown in now and again...a company that you can pick up the phone to and speak about what you are looking at on the website....where else can you do that with 1st useful information!

Choose your bike company carefully....Wheelies are the way forward and growing rapidly.

“bike not set up correctly”

i purchased a scott genius 740. it took 10 days to get to me and when it did it wasn't built correctly. the left hydrolic brake hose wasn't fix in properly and was leaking fluid every ware, not enough air in either of the shocks and the rear mech control wire wasn't fixed correctly. if you ever get a bike that was built by J evens and checked by j Gobbs(i think)for safety purposes take it to your nearest bike shop and get it checked properly. when purchasing a new bike i dont expect it to… Read Full Review

“Incompetence”

Having had my bikes stolen, I was informed by my insurers to use BikeReplacement. The initial call was poor - the handler didn't explain that basically I had to spend all of the £1500 in their online store, and that no change would be given; I had to get this information out of him. Having e-mailed Wheelies, I will concede they have finally taken some action.

They have explained the delays - one supplier has just moved premises so much of their gear is delayed. They also owned up to making a mistake on my helmet and had to reorder it.

The thing that was interesting was that the reason for not splitting the order is not as such the instructions of the insurance company; it seems it is easier for Wheelies to invoice my insurance company if all the goods are sent at once. This is a direct quote from Wheelies by the way.

What that seems to mean is it's easier and more convenient for them. Having pushed them, they are now sending out my bike by immediate despatch, and the two outstanding items will follow when they arrive.

My thoughts are that I shouldn't have had to spend my time doing this, and I'd still prefer to go to a local bike shop who have a vested interest in proper customer service. But if you're having issues with them, I suggest you do what I did:

1 - ask for the e-mail address of someone who deals with complaints

2 - mail them asking for a split in your order

3 - tell them that you will be contacting your insurers to complain about substandard service

4 - contact your insurers and let them know they're using a substandard service

Hope your order finally turned up. It took just over a month for mine to arrive. Spoke to them a few times and was told that it would be dispatched immediately. Blatantly wasn't. Terrible company, just a shame some of their prices are so appealing. I know it's not worth it anymore though.

Although others have had problems I have not.I ordered a new Bianchi off them on Saturday afternoon and it arrived on time with UPS (I think it was)first thing on Wednesday morning to my place of work.great sevice and even better bike.Since then I ordered some Muc off cleaners this arrived next day.So for me they have been great.Much better service than Wiggle,they oan only be contacted by E-mail!I wouldnt use them again unless desperate. That's interesting that your insurance company didn't mind the claim being split.

I've got £1500 of bike sat in their depot waiting two weeks now for a cycle jacket to arrive before they will despatch.

I have contacted my insurance company to find out whether this is correct about not splitting orders or whether it's Wheelies just being tight with the delivery costs. I'll update my complaint with any information.
