I asked to test ride a bike after the one I tried first was too small. I went in at the agreed time. It was not built. I went in again and was taken through the set up and tried the bike. I liked it. I decided to purchase the bike. At no point did three of the sales staff support or offer any useful advice. One lad was really helpful and seemed to be concerned to help me make a good choice. Ordered tyres on Monday and paid extra for premium dispatch. Despite the tyres showing as in stock by Thursday nothing so I gave them a quick call to check every thing was ok. I was assured it was. Not happy with jejamescycles online service Ordered 3 items shown in stock, at very competitive prices with free delivery. Flashy website didn't deliver email confirmation of order. Ordered several items at a good price, all showing as in stock. Order arrived 9 days later. One of the items was incorrect. It was labelled with JE James' own sticky label as the item I wanted, but it was clearly the wrong item. I purchased goods from this company on 16th May and all items ordered were shown as IN STOCK. I went with Je James Cycles as they offered free postage (BIG MISTAKE) !!!!! Their delivery conditions state items sent free can take between 3-5 days for delivery. After 5 days and still no goods, I contacted the company (23.5.11) only to be told that the items were packed and ready to ship in other words they had not sent the items for delivery yet. I have never experienced such pathetic customer service as I encountered from Je James Cycles. I ordered a Specialized Tarmac S Works road frame over the telephone but my address was not recognised by their credit card security system. I conacted my bank who checked the address was correct, ordered an Ultegra groupset from another bike shop with the same credit card and then rang JE James back no less than 10 times to try and process the order. Having damaged my large chainring and having a worn middle chain ring for an MTB, I searched the net for replacement rings.
My usual trusted on-line bike shops (Wiggle, Cycle store and Chain reaction) didn't stock the brand of replacement so I cast the net wider and found JE James were able to provide replacement rings.

I ordered some new bike parts online, which included a SRAM chain and a freewheel remover.
I chose the free delivery option and the parcel arrived only a few days after ordering so I was happy with the delivery time.
Unfortunately, they sent me a cassette removal tool instead of a freewheel remover. The JeJames price sticker on the packet says "Freewheel remover", despite the manufacure's packaging stating it is a cassette removal tool- somebody stuck the JeJames sticker right over the top… Read Full Review

I can honestly say that in over 6 years of shopping online the service I received when dealing with J E James cycles is the worst I have ever experienced.
I ordered a jacket which appeared to be in stock on their website. It turns out it wasn't so they had to special order it. When the jacket arrived it was the wrong size, so I sent it back. I had read some bad reviews about products taking a long time to arrive and poor customer service, but JE James offered the best price for Tacx Satori 2011 trainer so I took a chance.
I ordered it on Thursday, and it arrived the following Monday, no problems.

I ordered a pair of MB shorts which according to to website was on stock. I waited almost two weeks and then I received a mail that items was no longer in stock, but money has been returned. I used JE James many years ago as a child when I was given a bike frame for my 9th birthday and gradually saved the money to buy extra bits. I moved away as a teenager, but the bike I built, with their advice, served me until it was stolen 12 years later, covering several thousand miles.

Very pleasantly surprised by the efficient website and quick delivery (especially after reading so many negative reviews online). Ordered with free delivery option on a Sunday and all goods had arrived with an excellent courier (APC) by Tuesday. Also got sent an ALERT message from APC telling me when the delivery was due, not something I've seen from other couriers.

Before anyone uses the online ordering system read the many numerous reviews on bikeradar and avoid JE James. Like the others my order was confirmed as dispatched 'first class recorded delivery' yet over 3 weeks later it still hasn't arrived. It can be excused that JE James do not have control over the delivery of items but what they can do is have the courtesy to answer your emails requesting the whereabouts of an item. Shopped via website once, never again. Excellent price advertised for Specialised MTB shoes and in (low) stock. For low stock read zero stock as advised by email 1 week later, goods will be sent in the next few days. Four weeks after order still no goods. Very poor, ordered 3 items. 4 days later, a 1 line email (with no references on it) said that 1 of the 3 items I had ordered would not be delivered as they had no stock (despite showing in-stock) - no opportunity to swap the item was given.
