“Shockingly bad customer service June 2022”

Their website to amend a booking doesn,t work on either my iPad or Windows PC, both with updated software. Contact via email is via a dodgy looking address and in the unlikely event they answer, you,ll get someone who hasn,t got a clue. Persevere and you may end up with someone competent enough to deal with your enquiry. There is no other way to deal with them directly and any links send you back to your account or the ferry company who are sympathetic but say because you used A Ferry, they cannot make changes themselves.. The entire operation has changed to a rather shadowy and shoddy third rate outfit. They have no interest in any type of customer service or fair treatment of genuine enquiries which the ferry companies offer as a matter of course. Avoid this company like the plague and deal with the ferry companies or Eurotunnel directly. Hard to believe they could be so blatantly bad.

“PLEASE BOOK DIRECTLY, DONT USE AFERRY”

One of the worst place where to book your ferry ticket. I am so surprised that there no proper 24/7 customer service. So, yesterday 04.02.2022 I bought a ticket from Dover - Calais. For some while I'm driving to France with my Vauxhall Movano car trailer just to pick some goods up, and when I book a ticket I have always choose car type - van ( 8.00m - 2.20m) and I never ever had some problems even booking ticket through Aferry. So yesterday,I couldn't even went through the check in because, at least person who works there explained me), from the 01.01.2022 there has been some new law which says if you are driving with van you immediately are a commercial driver and you need to have some GMR form ( does not matter if you are just private driver with empty car trailer). Why, when you make a booking there is no some warning message which tells you about this new rule?? I lost nearly 300£ for two tickets because of that ....and even worse is that , that there is no-one who could help you. Every single person who works at the port were saying next time please don't use Aferry - book straight from ferry company. So yes, from this time on i will never use Aferry again. I am so disappointed loosing my time,my money...

“Don’t use book direct”

Booked with Aferry and could not go due to corona virus issues. Try to contact them but they have no phone number that works ! So I emailed them to change the dates , which I am still awaiting a reply and quite frankly don’t expect to get one, as this was several days ago. My advice would be do not book with them book direct .

I booked online a ferry ticket and never got it, They told me you will find it in the port. But nothing found, I was forced to buy an expansiver ticket. I hope I will get a refund.

“You just cannot contact these people!! ”

Due to Covid we’ve had to alter our trip to France, a ferry are impossible to speak to, don’t answer letters and you simply cannot do what they advise on there website, to add insult to injury when I’ve try I’d to cancel there is NO refund- what a bunch of robbers don’t give them any of your hard earned!!

“Avoid Aferry at all costs”

Don't book with Ferrysavers/Aferry till you read this....... I wrote this 3 days ago. (it's got worse) Are Ferrysavers going into administration? By their recent actions, I'd say they are. Seriously, book with another company. I wish I had, because I seriously think I've lost my money. I initially booked a crossing prior to the lock-down. I was due to travel to France with my family, my dog and my severely mentally handicapped daughter. We own a house there, and we planned to go for a month. This crossing, Newhaven to Dieppe needed to be changed, so I contacted Ferrysavers online. You can't contact them any other way and online, it's all a bit vague. I altered my crossing to 28th July but I couldn't pay the extra fee (£21) via credit or debit card. I tried several cards, it kept saying I needed to 'authenticate' the transaction ??? I tried Paypal and that worked. They took the money, I was sent a receipt for the new crossing, but almost at once, I was sent 2 further receipts for additional crossings, on 9th July and the 24th July. Here you go Ferrysavers, AFerry 13274654. DFDS 19766639 this is the references for the 28th of July. I have sent several emails since to Ferrysavers and no reply. All I get is, There emails are not monitored. I don't want to drive 300 miles to a ferry port with my family, severely mentally handicapped daughter and elderly dog, only to be told No Sir, we have no record of your booking. Nightmare. Please. Don't book with Ferrysavers. I honestly think they are about to do a Thomas Cook. Accrington, Lancs. So, with the booking ref. for the later crossing, Newhaven/Dieppe 28th July and the ticket I paid more for, I ring DFDS ferries. No Sir, We haven't got your new booking. Only your old one and we can't change it, only Ferrysavers/Aferry can. So DFDS try to ring Ferrysavers/Aferry and they can't get through. No surprise there. DFDS then send them an email. Good Luck with that one too, I've tried that also, to no effect. DFDS say, Leave it a couple of days and try ringing Aferry. I said, You rang them, you've emailed them. If they won't reply to you, I don't expect them to contact me anytime soon... I'm told others are contacting DFDS like me with the same problem. You have been warned.

“Absolutely terrible service”

I made a RETURN booking with AFerry for the 2nd May and understandably It was cancelled due to COVID 19. AFerry offered a refund VOUCHER but only for the OUTWARD journey. Apparently they are treating it as two separate bookings which they were not. How am I supposed to use the return booking when I have not travelled there? I understand that if I had booked directly with Brittany Ferries both journeys would have been credited and a cash refund would have been available. I will never use AFerry again! DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY WITH THESE PEOPLE!

“Can’t speak to a human”

No ferries sailing. Lockdown over all Europe. Aferry say, if I cancel there will be no refund. Try to ring , get 0844 number which is expensive and tells you to go online, but no one responds. Just got text message saying no refund. I am angry, frustrated as you are not able to speak to a human being. Cowards, unhelpful and money making from victims. I will never use again ever.....

If i could have given '0' stars i would have. Awful service. So the Goverment announces a lock down and because i can't now travel this company want to keep 50% of my money! Another company trying to make money from this awful time! No care to how it will affect their customers potentially out of work!

La compañía a ferry no me informo de un cambio de horario en mi ferry. Lo cual retrasaba todo impidiendo que llegara a valencia a tiempo a coger un vuelo para la boda de mi hermana. Tuve que irme en avión, dejar mi coche en un parking en canarias y luego a las 3 semanas volver a por mi coche. Después de un mes aún no saben darme una respuesta es imposible contactar por teléfono y encima te contestan a los mensajes cuando quieren. Sinceramente he viajado mucho a lo largo de mi vida y nunca he tenido tantos problemas relacionados pésimo. No lo recomendaría bajo ningún coche concepto

“Appalling”

A few days before our crossing from Italy to Albania we had to cancel. We then realised that aferry had never sent us a confirmation email of the booking; we had only received a payment confirmation from paypal. We tried to log into our aferry account, but couldn't, and when we clicked reset password, the reset password email never arrived. WE HAD NO MEANS OF CANCELLING THE BOOKING AND LOST £290 BECAUSE THERE WAS NO CONTACT NUMBER ON THE SITE, AND THEY NEVER RESPONDED VIA THE EMAIL ENQUIRY FORM.

“They did not inform me about the cut of boarding time!”

I purchased tickets from Aferry to travel from Japan to South Korea. When I purchased the tickets from Aferry I MADE SURE to read all the information provided to ensure that I wouldn’t miss the ferry. In regards to the departure of the ferry, they gave me only two pieces of information. 1. Ferry’s departure time 12:30 2. It was mentioned in this exact wording “Check in is at least 90 minutes prior to departure.” Based on this vague information. I turned up at the ferry desk at 12.12 and was refused to board the vessel. A laminated sheet of paper was shown to me by the ferry staff which said “Check in time: 10:30am-12:10. Check-in closes 20 minutes prior to departure" Even though I was only 2 minutes late and it was physically possible for me to board the ferry the ferry company would not let me board. The information Aferry provided was vague and not even correct. Check in time started 120 minutes before departure (not 90) and ended 20 minutes prior to departure. This CRITICAL information was NOT given to me by AFerry. A cut off time for boarding you would think is important? When I book train, plane or bus tour tickets etc this information is always provided. But with Aferry, apparently it's ok not to tell people about this. I have sent several emails to Aferry asking for a refund but they are saying it’s my fault. This situation obviously caused me enormous grief as I was stranded in Japan for an extra night and my contact was waiting for me in South Korea to pick me up from the ferry terminal. I booked the tickets in advance to save money and now I was forced to pay more than double to book tickets on the more expensive ferry the next day. AFerry you are NOT the worlds leading ferry website, you are a sham, dodgy company with no consideration for the damage you cause to people through your lax business practices and it will come back and hit you in the head one day and I'll be laughing.

“NIGHTMARE COMPANY. AVOID. SHAMEFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE.”

Avoid AFERRY at all costs! Booked return from Nice, France to Corsica. On day of return sailing heard that ferry had been cancelled. Ended up having to get a ferry to Italy. Ferry was packed, noisy and NOT even the country where I had booked to. We had friends expecting us in in France and AFERRY were completely unsympathetic. AFERRY customer service was very poor. They couldn't offer any alternatives to France, it transpired that AFERRY were encouraged to book passengers to Italy to avoid any refunds. The ferry to Italy, rather than back to France was a very poor alternative, was packed, dirty AFERRY reluctantly undertook to pursue compensation with Moby Lines but I had to chase them up many times, only for AFERRY to disable emails on my account after 8 weeks! SHAMEFUL service from AFERRY and Moby Lines.

“Would never use again”

Booked return ferry with them to Ireland from Liverpool. For small minibus and family of 8. Received email 8 days before travel to advise P&O had cancelled ferry and suggesting rebooking on ferries later that day. No sorry, no assistance, that was it. Trying to find a phone number, impossible, all the existing numbers find on the web have a recorded message saying need to email them. This is not a situation to deal with by email, ferry's likely to be fully booked / booking fast (school summer holidays), children and cabins to consider too. Phoned P&O direct who couldn't help, but did give me a phone number - this is Aferry's line for the ferry operators but phoned it anyway. Did actually speak to a nice lady who advised all other ferry crossings that day were fully booked as to was the one before our crossing. Only one had was 9am on Friday (vs our cancelled 3am Saturday) would mean trying to find accomodation for 8 people in Ireland for the one extra night in the school holidays. She advised to book and if could sort something else out (cancel holiday / find another way across) we could get a full refund. Sorted alternative crossing with Irish ferries direct, so phoned again to cancel. This time handler was unhelpful just said couldn't cancel or change booking as this was ferry operator's line. Have had to email to cancel and request a refund. We wait and see............

“Be careful with this comany”

Hi, Please be aware that this company has a very bad booking system. It is mostly not possible to make a correct booking if you have a Deviating vehicle. You can see this problem mostly after you receive your booking by mail. So, after payment. And when you contact Aferry about the problem the give you the wrong advice. It cost my a complete booking. No refund and i need to make a new booking as a need to do my job at a specific time. Very, very strange The site has a problem and Aferry says there is nothing wrong with their system. I know for sure it has. So please people be carreful with this company or your money is gone. “Charge me 5 Times for same travel ”

Hi everyone , I booked a ticket for Dover Calais for Easter and my départ was at 6 but I decided to change for 12 and 5 days laters .... 1 ticket at 155€ return its take in my account and 5 min later 5 times more they take 600£ on my account for nothing .... and now I need to wait the money back ! And they don't want to give me all ! They said I booked this but I'm not crazy I can't book 5 tickets for different way the same days I was in France already ! Anyway bad customer services , they speak with me only by text no call ! And the web site didn't work since one night when I booked my ticket so for change or cancelled your ticket it's not possible ....

“Cheap means 10% more”

If you use aferry you will e paying a 10% fee compared to booking direct. Ok if you are in a hurry but book direct with the ferry operator to save money. I am a regular Dover Calais traveller and aferry NEVER offer better deals than the ferry companies

“Ferry cancelled”

Booking process was absolutely fine for ferry to Corsica and outbound trip from Nice with Corsica Ferries was pleasant and a great way to start our trip. That's the good part, now the poor. We'd booked an overnight return trip with Moby Line and despite having my contact details, no-one advised that the ferry had been cancelled. Now that I'm home - not received any word of explanation, refund or compensation for inconvenience (bear in mind that we required to book flights back to Nice as well as a night accommodation in Bastia. Won't be recommending on basis of post trip customer service.
