“The Worst Courier ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by anneliherzfeld on 04/01/2020

The driver was due to deliver a parcel for our company and each time he claims either nobody was available to sign for or the door was closed so he could not get in The customer service are just totally incompetent and very unhelpful , they even refused to help to call the driver to give him instructions as he was clearly at the wrong address and claimed that they were not allowed to help as my name was not on the parcel although I had the tracking number Totally unheard of - rubbish is the word -do not use

“They just keep getting worse - and are now part of DHL!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Macmuffin on 03/04/2019

Had a previous very poor experience with this company when they proved themselves incapable of delivering some Christmas gifts to my son and his family, either on time or to the correct address! This time I asked a friend to send some car spares for me for next day delivery to a garage in Stoke, and although I was a bit concerned when he told me he'd used UK Mail (because i certainly wouldn't) I didn't think things could go so badly wrong again. Oh how wrong I was! OK they attempted 3 deliveries; one when the guy wasn't there (no card left) and two more at around 6 pm each evening - to a business address!!?? How does that make any sense?? And now they reckon the parcel and parts are on there way back to me. Needless to say the guy has now bought his parts from somewhere else and I've had to refund him since the tracking now shows the parts are on their way back to me and he can't wait for me to re-send them when (if?) UK Mail finally deliver them back to me. No doubt I've lost a good customer now as well. It beggars belief that this lot have managed to masquerade as anything approaching a credible delivery firm for so long. If you value your business then for goodness sake don't trust your goods with this lot!

“Absolutely awful ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 1973Urquhart on 05/12/2018

Awful delivery service. Twice now they have 'delivered' parcels which never showed up at my door! I was in all day on both occasions, first occasion the tracking said parcel delivered, I contacted them and they said they were trying to contact the delivery driver. This went on for days until the retailer I purchased the parcel off gave up and refunded me. Second time it started the same, tracking said delivered and signed for. Contacted them they said it was left with a neighbour, even though I had received nothing to tell me this. However when I checked with the neighbour they said they never accepted any parcel. When the retailer I purchased the parcel off contacted them they said it was left on my porch, two different stories and both untrue! Nobody ever attempted to deliver a parcel to me that day! Seems to me the drivers can't be bothered and take their pick of what they want to keep out of it all and declare it as delivered. Their customer service is awful, many emails of mine were ignored and when I got replies it was one word answers, no apologies or attempt at helping. Bloody awful service and I'm never using them again

“Unable to locate UK address - maybe should utse google...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 15/10/2018

Lost for words, would give zero stars if I could. UK Mail is unable to locate a basic local UK address (never any issues with any other UK postal services). We have a concierge but judging by other reviews they prefer to leave packages in a "special place" behind rubbish bins - and we don't have one in front of our house. NO channels for contact!! A tel number that provides pre-recorded information and you can email them but they never respond. Also seem to ignore all negative reviews. Dreadful, avoid if at all can.

“Use this company at your peril!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GhengisKhan on 08/10/2018

Sent a parcel with UKMAIL and they delivered it to the wrong address. After I insisted they go back and collect it and deliver it to the correct address they did but only after 1 day. They then left the parcel at the correct address in a "safe place" but didn't tell anyone where the safe place was and the recipient couldn't find it. When I asked them to contact the driver I was told he was an agency driver and had left but not to worry I could claim for the missing parcel as it was entirely their fault. I sent a new parcel in the meanwhile and submitted my claim. The claim has been dragged out for 2 months now and they still just ask for copies of receipts I've provided already. Use this company at your peril!

I will avoid buying products from company's where the carrier is UK MAIL from now on. P.s Where the hell is my purchase ????

“Still waiting for the parcel that never comes”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Lawsonpf373 on 07/08/2018

On two occasions now I have stayed in all day awaiting a parcel. They send a message that gives you an approx time of delivery, which gives an hour window. I have been in all day on both times. My door bell works, my knocker works but on both occasions I have tracked online to find a message that says the driver tried to deliver, which is funny as on both occasions no card was left. Disgraceful, looks like I will now have to make an hour round trip to go to their depot as I am not prepared to wait in for another day. I would have preferred not to tick a star but was forced to, Terrible is too kind.

“Delivery expected on Birthday”

written by Claygw384 on 21/07/2018

I ordered a phone 2 days before my birthday 19th July expecting to have the phone on my birthday 21st July. I had a tracking number could not get into the tracking details.so was unsure when phone would be deliver. I waited in the property on 21st July waiting for the phone decided to make a telephone call to o2 who gave me the details to contact UKmail as the delivery service. I rang UKmail on the other side appeared an incompetent person did not have a clue. i explained that i have placed the consignment details in the information that i was receiving back from UKMail stated that the delivery was with the driver and would be deliver between 13:51-14:51 Saturday. Ok i will wait. today is my birthday sitting in the house waiting for a new phone. 15:10 decided to contact UKMail to be told that the depot is closed there attempted to deliver on the 19th,so i stated if there attempted to deliver on the 19th why was a card not left, i would of made an attempt to go down to the deport first thing Saturday morning and collected my phone, rather than spent all day sitting around wasting time.If you want reliability UKmail is not a company that i would ever have anything to do with again so please take note if your waiting for a delivery urgently UKmail appear not reliable and may cause upset disappointed disappointed disappointed now i am expected to wait until Monday 23rd for deliver of the phone no consideration that i may have a Job to go too Ukmail would be the last company i would sent anything could not be assured that it would arrive Jokers

“APPALLING SERVICE & CUSTOMER SERVICE IS APPALLING TOO”

★☆☆☆☆

written by EvelynAllen315 on 27/06/2018

NO stars. Apple Delivery was scheduled for the 19th June 2018. Tracking is not kept up-to-date. Couriers says attempted 3 deliveries which was not correct. I received no calling card or email or text beforehand to indicate that they had been!! Courier says they had come and my home had brown front door, which was incorrect as they had used google maps. I know they were lying as my door had been changed a year ago! The customer service avoid all calls of compliant and give you the run around. The customer service is based in Ireland going by the name of centrica (I think that what they annouced when receiving calls!) therefore they really do not have no control over their drivers based in Greater London and definitely do not know what they are up to when they are suppose to be doing deliveries. Simply pop trackers on their vehicles. It is now the 27th June 2018 and still no parcel. I would not recommend this courier company. I had never heard of this courier company before the 19th June, speaking to work colleagues and friends they have nothing but negative things to say about this company, I wish I had spoke to them beforehand! what a shambles of a company, very unprofessional indeed!!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE DO NOT USE UPDATE 276 a driver came and handed my parcel to me and called me an "idiot" talk about customer service, wow!!! will be putting in a complaint about this with the company (not that they care) and speaking to FOS about this company!! Hopefully they will go into administration soon. Consumers deserve good quality couriers not rude lazy ones!

“They do not collect, they do not respond to inquiries”

★☆☆☆☆

written by LibertyEgan on 27/06/2018

Unfortunately, they deserve no stars. They used to be good but they one of the worst now. Once again, they failed to collect. The frequency of this is 2 out of 3 times now. They no longer respond to inquiries either and the most annoying feature is that they send you an 1 hour time window for collection or delivery which seems to serve the purpose of mocking us as they never ever honour. Sorry UK mail, but you have become a bit of a joke and this was my last booking with you

“UK Mail doesn't deliver”

★☆☆☆☆

written by svGray324 on 04/05/2018

Received a note from UKMail that they would deliver a parcel. Rearranged delivery for date, stayed at home all day to accept and nothing arrived. Tried contacting customer services but it's a computerised system with zero human contact. Twitter support slack. Left hanging in limbo. Disgusted with service and would avoid UK Mail at all costs in the future.

“Uk Mail is a holy c r a p delivery company”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AmirahKeegan on 27/04/2018

Uk Mail is a holy c r a p delivery company. Web page is basic and it is very hard to manage delivery or delivery time. Driver arrives at my home only after 8:00 am when Iam in work. Monday to Friday and not possible to deliver delivery for collect. After 5 times when the driver arrives to the parcel address sent back to the sender. I never see this big unhelpful support for the customer. On the phone is only computer and not humman! INCREDIBLE !!

“Appauling”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Kian141 on 12/04/2018

Very poor service. Used their tool to reschedule to collect my parcel from their depot on a day offered by them and got confirmation from them. Without notifying me, they returned the item to the sender (apple) and didn't tell me. I was set to make a 1.5 hour round trip to their depot in the back end of nowhere, where I would not have found my parcel. Luckily I had the forsight to go in and print off my confirmation again and it said "returned to sender". What a joke. UKMail claim apple asked them to return it. Not true. Apple categorically (in writing) have stated they did not make any such request and that UKMail are not giving me accurate information. Apparently this happens often with UKMail depots just deciding to return stuff if it's been in the depot a couple of days (even when booked to be collected a couple of days later) without consent of the sender. Very poor company and very poor customer services. They are cheap which is why people use them that is all. They have no idea about good tech (look at dpd for an exampe of a carrier that actually has a decent website). Even Yodel are better.

“Appalling, appalling, appalling”

★☆☆☆☆

written by boscawen46 on 10/04/2018

I have used UK mail for a number of years and found their service to be acceptable. I have had the same collection driver and he has always been friendly and professional. Last week I sent a large box containing framed children's prints to a gallery in Amersham. I could not have wrapped and padded the pictures much better and used an oversize box to allow extra padding around the sides. I also used fragile tape all over the box and a sheet of paper on each side asking to please handle carefully. The box was delivered and when the gallery owner opened it she found EVERY picture broken, some just glass, some frames and some both. The gallery owner could not herself believe how it would have been possible to have caused this much damage unless quite considerable force was used. I contacted uk mail to explain the problem via their only contact option which uses a form and was told in a reply that the box had been delivered but not mentioning the damage I was concerned about. I sent three more contact forms but these were met with the same sort of response. I eventually managed to "chat" with someone on their web chat service but was told that because the pictures came under "artwork" I would not be able to claim compensation. Apparently in the reams of conditions it is mentioned there. She also told me that they couldn't assure customers that items arrived at the other end safely. I have decided not to use uk mail again and certainly will not be recommending them,it seems that from the countless negative reviews I am not alone.

“Absolutley appaling-DO NOT USE”

written by Benjamindog1 on 09/04/2018

I ordered an item. I didn't know UK mail were the courier. It was shown to arrive 30th March 2018. I changed the delivery as I wasn't going to be in on the Friday and left it at the depot. On Wednesday the 4th of April I asked for it to be re delivered. I received a vague email on the morning of the 5th that it was out for delivery, but the company I'd bought the item from sent an email confirming it would be delivered that day. I checked UK mail's site several times that day and it looked as though it was out for delivery and I was drop 60 and they were at drop 33. At 7pm I realised they hadn't been so looked online but there was no information by 9pm I knew they would not be delivering but as UK mail themselves had been so vague gave them the benefit of the doubt. Friday the 6th I got an mail from UK mail to say it would be delivered. I checked twice in the day.I was again drop 60 at 2pm the courier was at drop 43 at 2pm and at 5pm drop 51 of 60. Nothing arrived by 9pm, when to my surprise I was told they had tried to deliver, no one was in and they'd left a card. I sent a strongly worded complaint. I got an automated reply saying it would be re delivered Monday the 9th. I contacted the vendor and stated I wanted a refund and UK mail would be told where to go if they arrived with the item. I'm still waiting for UK mail to reply and apologise. The vendor's were great and agreed to refund me once they had the parcel back from UK mail. I now await to see if the so called UK mail courier company can return the parcel this side of May 2018 !!!

“AWFUL”

written by on 03/04/2018

This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. The item was sent out next day delivery, unfortunately we wasn't in. We went on the website to advise that they could leave the item with any neighbour. 4 days later after not receiving the package I contacted UK mail they advised it would be delivered that day. I stressed the fact I wasn't in and that it needed to be left with a neighbour, they said they would contact the driver to ensure it happened. When I got home there was a card on the drive, not even through the letter box saying sorry I missed you. I contacted UK mail and said I wasn't happy at the fact it hadn't been delivered, they then guaranteed it would be sent out the next day. I took the day off work to ensure it was delivered but they never turned up. even though the website said delivery attempt failed. A few days later as it has been bank holiday I have contacted UK mail again to be advised it has been sent back to the sender. We have contacted the company that has sent the item and left feedback about how this company has been and they have agreed to use a different courier

“no attempt to deliver”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Castrowe489 on 20/03/2018

the company say the driver attempted to deliver, I am disabled and got up at 5am to make sure I was up and dressed in time for my deliver, only to informed by seller they attempted delivery and no one was in, I live in a block of flats with a buzzer system to get in and no one used my buzzer, or even left a card to say they had tried, what total liars they are, I would never recommend to anyone.

70 letters is not a big enough order to attract any keen interest. Royal Mail 2nd Class will cost you £52.50. If you are going to do this regularly then it would be worth being a business customer and getting a decent discount.

I would not recommend them as their customer service is an uncaring useless lot. They delivered a parcel of mine to the wrong address and for some days would not admit it, then sent the following email "Thank you for your query. The driver delivered this to the wrong address in error. Since then he has tried to retrieve the item without success. We would suggest to contact the senders to claim for this item. Apologies for the delay. Kind regards, Customer Care" In other words, they just washed their hands of it and said to claim against the sender. Most unfair and unprofessional.

My delivery is showing on their website as having been delivered and signed for by us. We were out all day yesterday and cannot find the delivery anywhere and have asked all our neighbours. I rang today to ask if perhaps it had been delivered to an incorrect address and was informed that it was delivered to our address and signed for by ourselves in spite of me telling them I was in London with 78 school children all day and my husband was at work! I have asked for a copy of the signature but nobody returns my calls. It has clearly been signed for by somebody else who has my goods but UK Mail do not seem to care. Any ideas what I can do?

Don't bother contacting the courier, go back to the vendor and get them to sort it out, your contract is with the vendor and it's up to them to chase the courier. Hopefully they can resolve it and you won't have to (as I have in the past) take the vendor to small claims court because of the courier.
Report this content MissPractical Written on: 05/11/2015
As Strangelad has said below, I would suggest getting in touch with the supplier of the goods and having them chase it up. If they are unable to get it resolved quickly, they should send you another item the same as that which has gone missing (preferably with another courier company!), or offer a refund.
Report this content maryfrazer Written on: 05/11/2015
The 2 previous answers are absolutely correct. The law says the vendor is responsible for getting the goods to you. The fact that they choose to use such an appalling delivery company is not your responsibility. Go back to the vendor, explain you haven't received the goods and ask for a replacement. If he quibbles, ask him to establish with UK Mail what colour your front door is. I had exactly the same problem with UKMail. They claimed to have attempted delivery but I had been in all day and there was no card. When O2 contacted UK Mail, they claimed my door was red. This was completely wrong but I think they must 'note' the colour of the door as a matter of course as some sort of 'proof' they have attempted delivery. I found UKMail to be extremely unhelpful and rude. Don't waste your time with them, go back to the vendor.
Report this content JulianSw Written on: 05/11/2015
The previous answers are correct though it is of no use to the person who is waiting for the parcel..... Try to contact the customer care centre in Leeds, they are helpful.... eventually. The main issue here is that the driver is committing a crime which when I last looked was illegal. The only way to stop this is to publish your complaints on as many sites as possible and when ordering make it part of the contract that you will not accept deliveries by UKmail or iPost.
Report this content AlanGallon Written on: 05/11/2015
I entirely agree with the previous two answers. When contacting the vendor in this type of circumstance, I would always recommend writing a comprehensive letter, sending it by post and retaining a copy.
Report this content Imac1940 Written on: 05/11/2015
As the other responders say, your contract is with the supplier/vendor. If UKmail gave you a tracking number, inform the vendor of that too.
Report this content barlydd Written on: 05/11/2015
We had a similar thing happen about a year ago. It was shown on the delivery website as delivered before the latest delivery time, which was 12 noon. I gave up trying to contact the courier and instead phoned the company from which I had bought some cheese which obviously needed to be delivered within a few hours. He contacted the courier but it was not delivered until the next day. The ice around the cheese had melted but the cheese was still ice-cold. I asked the driver who delivered it and he said that he was not on duty on the previous day but said that our house was very easy to find and he couldn't understand what might have happened. Conclusion: always contact the seller not the courier company.
Report this content jules7jules Written on: 05/11/2015
Contact the seller of the goods, not the delivery company, the seller pays the delivery company to deliver to you, not to anyone else, they can put in a complaint with the delivery company, let them deal with your order which you didn't receive first, then they can deal with the delivery company, it should not be you chasing them around.
Report this content Rrth9948 Written on: 05/11/2015
I presume that your purchase was paid for by credit card. Under law you may claim back the full cost if you can get no satisfaction from either the vendor or courier. Inform the vendor that your item has not been delivered. It's not your responsibility to provide further information to the vendor. It is the vendor's responsibility to investigate the matter and provide either replacement or refund or reason why neither will be forthcoming. If in the second instance you are forced to take the matter further you should inform the courier that you are a victim of fraud. Demand a copy of the signature given and the point at which it was taken ( obviously not at your door) and suggest that the police will be involved. Don't delay. Vendor first. Courier second. Credit card supplier 3rd. Legal Fourth. This kind of thing is not uncommon.
Report this content LenaB4 Written on: 06/11/2015
Personally I don't think that somebody has signed for your goods, I just think that the van driver has said he has delivered it so that he could go home. I have had several parcels, especially live plants that should have been delivered on a Thursday, and haven't arrived until Monday. The answer when you ask the driver what happened, is always that they weren't on that day, it must have been someone else. They must have new drivers nearly every day. As the other answers have said, complain to the seller, they need their reputation, whereas UK Mail haven't got one to lose anyway.
Report this content Shopaholic2228 Written on: 06/11/2015
I had EXACTLY the same problem with my delivery, i had no joy from UK Mail so had to get back to the company i purchased from. I asked them to send me a copy of my 'alleged' signature, which they got from UK Mail. It was nothing more than a tick, not a signature at all, certainly not mine. I eventually got a refund through the supplier who i believe will then claim from UK Mail. I also contacted the police for there advice, they logged it & gave me a crime number. This seems to be happening far too often!! Stay tough with them until you get your goods or refund... Good luck hope this helps.

You will be lucky if they actually turn up on time or even if they arrive today at all as they are really bad at delivering items on time or delivering all of the items in a consignment! We often have packages delivered by UK mail and at least one item is always missing and then arrives a few days later or the whole consignments arrives late anyway. They are the worst courier company by far.

You should set your expectations low. Even if you wait, they are likely not to deliver at all. Often they don't even bother to try to deliver, or get the wrong address. Almost certainly they won't leave a card. And good luck with getting anything useful out of the help desk. I recommend calling your supplier to complain. This worked for me - eventually. Consider cancelling the order and ordering from a supplier that does not use this courier. I wish I had done this.

Report this content kchopperb Written on: 13/12/2014
The time they stop depends on the people who are delivering and what part of the country you live in. When ordering there is usually a box to fill in with any instructions, put "if not in please ring this number to arrange mutual time to redeliver". If you are ordering goods for a special occasion and they don't turn up on time refuse delivery and they will have to return the goods to the supplier and you can claim a full refund so saving on postage.

Try tracking the parcel from link in their e-mail, then search carefully for your 1 hour slot somewhere on left of tracking page. Not easy to find but I found it was worth the effort to work out their system! I expected them to email the1 hour slot but as they said they would, but it does not happen. Sometimes they are late, once next day. 0nce I contacted the sender and told them I would not shop there again, and the service improved since. Best of luck!

You never can tell. i recently found out that there are bottom line dates. I mailed about 6 parcels to myself, only 5 arrived. When I asked I was told to wait about 20 days before complaining. It never arrived.

Should arrive today. Have UK mail got your mobile number as then they send you a text. Otherwise go to Track your package here - just above

The delivery will depend initially on when Orange actually dispatch your item. If it is trackable then you should use that facility. My delivery was delivered to the wrong address.
