There are plenty of comments on forums about this company. I ordered an inner tube. 2 months later despite several emails to them and nothing has arrived. DO NOT USE THEM simple as.

Placed an order. No next day delivery. No response to emails, no answer to phone calls. They took the money and no goods.

I ordered a bike that was supposedly in stock on 27/3/13 and have still not received it, despite the confirmation email saying it would be delivered in 1-5 days. I have had no replies to my emails and nobody is answering the phones on either the shop or online order numbers. Having tried for several days I have my doubts as to whether they are even still open. Avoid at all costs! I am now nearly £200 down and am contacting my credit card company.

I purchused a Falcon Montare 20" bike for my 7 year old girl for Xmas, I rang the store for some help with the correct sizes and details on the delivery, I placed the order online and promtley got a order reference emailed to me, 2 days later the cycle arrived, very happy customer and I will recommend Bike Outlet York to all my friends and family

Ordered my Peugeot Urbanite 2.0 on Sunday, and got it dispatched on Tuesday! Although I missed it & had to arrange a redelivery, & the delivery service they used (TNT) is excellent as well, easy & conveniet to arrange a redelivery with just a quick call.. Had it redelivered twice until finally able to receive it on Thursday.. No complaints at all with regards to that.. Tips: Before I placed my order I did some research on the bike & at this store it sells the cheapest.. I am careful when it comes to ordering as I called the Bike Outlet to confirm availability of the bike that I want & the frame size.. Called TWICE just to make sure & only then I placed my order.. Guy on the phone very helpful & polite as well when dealing with me.. I suggest & advice you to do the same, as things they list as available on their site may not be in stock, so just beware (applies to online shopping generally).. Overall, a five star rating from me.. Top class.. Bike delivered in pristine condition; no bolts, screws, or anything missing.. No problems whatsoever when assembling.. Definitely recommend ! However there is one problem: no confirmation of item dispatch (email or phone etc.), only confirmation email of successful order & transaction. Had to call them to ask whether it has been dispatched.. Other than that, great :D

The worst bike shop in which I have ever buy something. I ordered the wheelset Hope Hoops Pro 2 with Crest rims two months ago. The price was very reasonable. Delivery to Slovakia was 9,99 GBP but I´ve got some email that the delivery cost is 70 GBP with offer of transfering more money or full refund. I choose full refund and I am battling for refund till now. 2 months left and no refund on my account. Alex from bikeoutlet.co.uk doesn´t reply for my emails. The worst bike shop as I know...looks like fraud.

Placed order 3 weeks ago, cancelled it the same day (i.e. before it was shipped) as realised I ordered the wrong item. Refund promised, nothing happened. A week later contacted them again, promised again. Another week later contacted again and again more promises. Nothing seems to move these guys. Very glad I paid by credit card, as now my credit card supplier is looking into it. I doubt these guys are dishonest. Just hopeless I think - either way, they give the industry a bad name. Irony is I thought it was good to give business to someone other than Wiggle/Chain Reaction.... puts you off supporting the small guys in the future. Really poor customer service - wouldnt risk buying from them again.

Ordered some Hope brakes from this outfit 2 weeks ago, paid £9 for delivery. The delivery times stated were 3-7 days which I thought was acceptable considering the savings I was making. After a week they still hadnt turned up so I gave them a quick call and was told that hope hadnt sent the adjusters etc and would be a little longer. 2 days later rang again and was told Hope had sent the wrong brake. 2 days later again, was told they should be receiving them in on next day and would send out to me the same day. Funnily enough was reading the reviews on here when the courier arrived with them. Thankfully all looks good as I would hate to go through any sort of returns with them. Pretty poor service, and I will never moan about Chainreaction taking 2 days to deliver again !!

I purchased a Claud Butler Road/Racing Bike on 28th December 2011 - the price was very good. I had a phone call on 4th January 2012 - 6 days after the money was taken from my account, to say that the bike was not in stock, but I could pay more for a more expensive model. I refused and requested a refund. I trusted their word that they would refund my account, however, 3 weeks later, no bike and I am still over £400.00 down. I am disgusted with this poor service. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Was looking for a good value all rounder for road and track use and checked loads of sites and stores. Always liked Claud Butlers for build quality and UK design so read reviews on these. Found Cape Wrath MTB on the Bike outlet sites for quite good price so emailed them to see what they could do for 2 bikes as decided to replace both mine and my wifes bikes and wanted a quality machine that would last. The deal they offered was 2 cape Wrath 03 2011 bikes for £450 each! this was cheaper than I could find any second hand and £400 less per bike than the recommended price!! Ordered and paid for them but they took about a week as were out of stock, but they told us the day to expect them and they did turn up. Bikes are fantastic quality and at the price of a lesser secondhand one...fantastic value!!
