“They live up to their low cost advertising”

Written on: 26/11/2013 by M.Henry (7 reviews written)

The concept of no-frills is one of the best things that have happened to the global aviation industry and in my book Ryan Air is truly a front runner. I have flown with them to a range of short haul destinations and found them to be efficient in every which way. Sure recommend them to all my near and dear ones… Read Full Review

Seminara's Response to M.Henry's Review

Sadly i cannot agree. Last year I was flying from sanstead to Sicily to visit my father who was terminaly ill. I had a small case that was smaller than the size allowed.
I had a small hand bag with my tickets, purse etc in, I had a duty free carry bag with two box of chocolates roses in . I was told I had to put everything in the case. I did put my hand back into the case. However I did not put the chocolates in the case (I did not want them to squashes them) the young man at the gate told me as I had disobeyed I would not be flying that day.( I handed the chocolates to the ground staff at the gate and left them behind) When I got to the entrance of the plane had to unpack to get my tickets out. Once on the plane it was apparent they had over booked and one person was left standing. After a lot of arguing they found the gentleman a seat (one that had been sectioned off at the front) Then the guards came on the plane and asked me to get off. (Their only reason was the young man at the gate wanted me off) I refused. Four armed policemen came on and took me off . I did not fly that day. I did not fly for another two weeks. Fortunately I did get to see my father just before he died but it could have been a very different story.
Ryanair throw me off the plane because I had tried to take two boxes of roses on knowing I was going to visit my dying father.

booked a flight for my son and myself. on previous day my son was very ill with severe infection, doctor told me not to fly with him. flight booked on the 02/10/2013 for the 04/11/2013. so i phoned on the third to inform them and ask them if i could rebook for an other date. no flights available until April the following year. They advised me to send a medical certificate via fax only (who has fax nowadays???)so i paid £10.00 for a medical certificate and a further £7.90 to have online fax… Read Full Review

“I was expecting the worst... But pleasantly surprised!”

Written on: 09/11/2013 by Ben1412 (1 review written)

I am a frequent traveller, luckily enough to be able to travel abroad around 6-10 times a year. I had always avoided Ryanair given their poor reputation but on this occasion the flight times and direct flight service was a no brainer that it was going to work in with our schedule. I must say, apart from them keeping the seatbelt sign on almost the entire flight for 'turbulence' but really being so they could complete their endless sales runs up and down the aircraft aisles the flight was much… Read Full Review

I am sorry for your father, but are you saying that you were asked to leave the aircraft because you either a) didn't read your flight ticket rules or b) you tried to disobey their rules and do it your own way? Just sayin...

Seriously there is more to your story, you did more than that to be forcibly removed from an aircraft by police. Your delusional if you think your actions were justified no matter how many terminally ill people you were visiting. In my eyes - reading between the lines - you deserved to be removed and I would have not let you travel at all.

“Not so budget airline”

Written on: 30/10/2013

The staff were not of any help, very dismissive. Was made to pay a fee last minute before boarding or risked not being able to fly. After this the staff continued to be argumentative even though I informed them that I am 2 months pregnant and was feeling distressed by their behaviour. I later overheard them bad mouthing another passenger. The plane was also very cramped. At 6.30am this whole incident is no what you want after being at the airport all night. As a first time flyer of Ryanair I… Read Full Review

“Security booking puzzle doesn't work”

Written on: 27/10/2013 by tegteg (1 review written)

The Solve Media puzzle is stopping me booking flights. Problems: - The puzzle doesn't seem to work on iPads, ie no question given to answer - if you're in a different country, ie France, the thing automatically comes up in French. I don't speak French that well! Ryanair could lose a lot of business using this. Already lost our bookings!… Read Full Review

“Poor customer experience”

Written on: 25/10/2013

Reviewing my first experience of Ryanair. Website VERY annoying - have to go through lots of sections asking if you want more luggage allowance, book seats, book taxi etc etc and this was repeated when printed off boarding pass. We flew from East Midlands to Rome: I found staff unfriendly and wasn't able to understand their on board announcements because member of staff had very strong Italian accent. Felt very sorry for stressed families with young children trying to get seats together, why… Read Full Review

“What do you expect?”

Written on: 23/10/2013 by littlestfish (1 review written)

Having just flown on my first Ryanair flight from Stansted to Lourdes,I can't see why everyone is so critical of Ryanair. The system worked well with online check in and was easy to follow. We opted to pay for extra luggage which was reasonable at £15. Everyone seems to moan about the "hidden" costs, but there was nothing I could see that was "hidden". If you don't want to reserve a seat (a waste of time if you can get to the boarding gate on time)or do speedy boarding (again, completely… Read Full Review

“Best value for money”

Written on: 20/10/2013 by daltosom (1 review written)

I have been flying Ryanair at least 10 times a year for the last 13 years. Because they have so many flights, it is obvious that from time to time one of them might have a problem. But they are much more efficient in solving problems than any other airline, just because paying vouchers and hotels to passengers is more expensive (for them) than bringing you safe at destination. And on time. One recommendation: read carefully their terms & rules the first time you fly and you'll never face a… Read Full Review

“ABSOLUTE RUBBISH (to put politely!)”

Written on: 10/10/2013

Didnt even want to give one star! avoid at all costs! so much for 'cheap' -easy jet flights were £24.99 but unfortunately all booked, yet ryan air were £151 EACH! Customer service is complete rubbish, no help at all. seriously need to sort themselves out. Will never use them again. Website is rubbish and it took me over an hour just to print boarding passes (and an extra 30 euros just to reserve seats!!!), again with no help when called customer service. wont let it spoil holiday, and… Read Full Review

“Cattle Market”

Written on: 04/10/2013

I had to update my baggage allowance from 15kg to 20kg. They charged me an extra £30.00. Seats are a free for all, many passengers very unhappy to be seated away from partners. About a dozen seats with reserved on but not claimed. 2 small beers £10 small peanuts £2.00 miniature vodka £5.00. Staff sulky and unhelpful could of been doing community service the way they behaved. Why work in the industry if you don't like the public? Yes they are cheaper now I know why. Customer service nil. … Read Full Review

“Just awful miserable female staff, uncomfortable seating”

Written on: 23/09/2013 by Wisbeeo (2 reviews written)

Ryanair is one of the worst airlines and I speak from experience since I have travelled around the world. The female staff never smile, do not ask for any help since they are not interested and they are always ready to start an argument. I would like to add that the male staff on Ryanair are helpful, polite and they smile. We have now taken the decision to fly to another airport which is further away but no Ryanair awful customer service to put up with!… Read Full Review

“Is she the most miserable hostess ever?”

Written on: 22/09/2013 by Mark A Lomas (5 reviews written)

Just got back from Gran Canaria on Flight FR3163 and can officially confirm that I have had the pleasure of meeting the most misearble Air Hostess on this planet. Yes it was very early but that is their doing not mine. She never smiled once, was determined to show everyone on board that she had no time whatsoever for anyone on the flight and if she could start an arguement with a passenger she would. Unlucky for her she picked on me. When getting ready to land she told me to switch off my phone… Read Full Review

I booked 2 tickets with Ryanair to fly to Rome on 10th - 14th of September. Due to a bereavement in the family we could not fly on these dates. I contacted customer service who A - I could hardly understand. B whe was rude and would not let me speak to ask if we could transfer the flights to another time and she then cut me off. “Cancelling Baggage Allowance”

After booking 2 flights with them last night, to both Dublin and then back from Knock to Liverpool and needing baggage allowance for both flights, I booked to have Hold Allowance of 15kg's added. I no longer require this part of my booking but still wish to fly with them so wanted to cancel the Baggage Allowance off. I spoke to somebody on their 10p a minute "Customer Service" line as I could not raise the query through the website as it did not have the option to do so!! I was then… Read Full Review

“Cattle Cart Sevice”

Written on: 27/08/2013 by ronniwin (2 reviews written)

Well first and last time for Ryanair. Did anyone else know that your seats are not saved unless you pay extra for them? We wondered why everyone was rushing to the gate and couldn't believe it when we got on the plane (2 adults, 2 children) and were told to sit anywhere. Lucky to get 3 seats together and me close by. On the return flight, had to stand for nearly 2 hours in a queue to ensure we sat together. One mother and child had to ask for help as there were no seats together for them to… Read Full Review
