“Terrible Customer service”

Written on: 28/01/2014 by pete-mac (1 review written)

My wife and I booked in early December 2013 to travel from Leeds Bradford to Alicante the following May. We like to sit together and we booked our seat numbers and paid extra. We received the email confirmation that our booking was accepted and the payment left my account. We booked the Hotel separately to suit the flight dates. On December 24th 2013 I received an email stating that our flight time had changed and we could fly on the following day or we could cancel and get a refund. I… Read Full Review

“allocated seating”

Written on: 28/01/2014

We fly frequently with this airline and to be fair you have to abide by their rules and all will be fine. However, we recently paid for booked seats in January and went through smoothly, unlike the normal "cattle market" dash. Have been trying to book for June to go to Kaunas. Now understand you are allocated seats as Easyjet and others do. I was told you could be placed away from family and friends and as I am nervous for me that would be awful. What is worse, unless you pay £5 a seat you… Read Full Review

Actually to clarify this, Ryanair will try and allocate your seats together, therefore if you check in earlier (2 weeks before) you have a better chance of seats together. Its the same with any other airline. Also as with every other airline, if you do get split up, then speak to the cabin crew. Im sure they will help move people around, they aren't that awful!

“Bad start to christmas break, delay with no frequent...”

Written on: 09/01/2014

Flew from Dublin 24/12/2013 to lanzarote for 2 week christmas break. Check in went very smoothly but that was all that was smooth. Our flight was to board at 11.25am and naturally everyone started the mad dash to be in the queue as you are not allocated a seat unless you pay... I realised there was no plane outside so didnt bother. Flight due to depart at 11.55 and by this time there was no announcement about it, a representative later came and told us the flight was redirected to Shannon… Read Full Review

“Aaaaargh”

Written on: 04/01/2014 by Clash (1 review written)

We are Scots but live in Oz. We booked online from Edinburgh and received our tickets by email. Ryanair know that tourists do not carry printers with them. On arriving at checkin we were told that we should have a PRINTED ticket. Naturally being travellers we didn't have a printed ticket. We were told it would cost (not sure but I think it was) 40 pounds extra each to get a printed ticket. Being a Scot I got a bit heated and said you have to be "b l o o dy kidding". I was told that if… Read Full Review

“Cheap Holidays”

Written on: 03/01/2014

I know that Ryanair gets many negative reveiws and comments but I have a positive comment to make. Thanks to cheap Ryanair flights I have had many holidays in places that would be unaffordable if it were not for Ryanair flights to those destinations. For example I have had a number of holidays in the Algarve Portugal at peak season time, Christmas 2013 in Gran Canaria, City breaks to Europe and many other trips all thanks to low cost flights from Ryanair. I tend to think of booking and… Read Full Review

“FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE”

Written on: 01/01/2014 by Wanda29 (1 review written)

Flew to Tenerife 17th December from Bristol for two week holiday. As the title suggests, fantastic experience. Was initially dreading the flight after so many negative reviews from customers, but must say our overall experience was fantastic. From check in to flight, staff could not have been more helpful - Thomsons and Thomas Cook could learn from them. Plane spotless - unlike flights previously taken with Thomas Cook and Thomsons. Would definitely use again… Read Full Review

“bad cstomer service”

Written on: 20/12/2013 by cappero (1 review written)

on the 10th of december flight at 8.25 am London Stansted to Pisa. Because of the fog no flights could leave the airport. Me and several people waiting at the gate, we had information about the flight after two hours. In the meantime waiting at the gate and there was very cold, no places to sit, me and some other people waiting on the floor. I am telling that, because nobody from the flight company took care about the people. No information given about the possibility of food and maybe a… Read Full Review

This weekend I flew for the first time with Ryanair,if I was to purely basing this review on our outbound flight from Birmingham I would be giving a very positive review.....sadly my return flight was a completely different experience! On boarding the aircraft the cabin crew appeared stressed and ratty. When we found our seats it was made apparent by the noise that a party of passengers had been celebrating hard prior to boarding although some members of staff joined in their singing, normally… Read Full Review

“They live up to their low cost advertising”

The concept of no-frills is one of the best things that have happened to the global aviation industry and in my book Ryan Air is truly a front runner. I have flown with them to a range of short haul destinations and found them to be efficient in every which way. Sure recommend them to all my near and dear ones… Read Full Review

Sadly i cannot agree. Last year I was flying from sanstead to Sicily to visit my father who was terminaly ill. I had a small case that was smaller than the size allowed.
I had a small hand bag with my tickets, purse etc in, I had a duty free carry bag with two box of chocolates roses in . I was told I had to put everything in the case. I did put my hand back into the case. However I did not put the chocolates in the case (I did not want them to squashes them) the young man at the gate told me as I had disobeyed I would not be flying that day.( I handed the chocolates to the ground staff at the gate and left them behind) When I got to the entrance of the plane had to unpack to get my tickets out. Once on the plane it was apparent they had over booked and one person was left standing. After a lot of arguing they found the gentleman a seat (one that had been sectioned off at the front) Then the guards came on the plane and asked me to get off. (Their only reason was the young man at the gate wanted me off) I refused. Four armed policemen came on and took me off . I did not fly that day. I did not fly for another two weeks. Fortunately I did get to see my father just before he died but it could have been a very different story.
Ryanair throw me off the plane because I had tried to take two boxes of roses on knowing I was going to visit my dying father.

“I was expecting the worst... But pleasantly surprised!”

Written on: 09/11/2013 by Ben1412 (1 review written)

I am a frequent traveller, luckily enough to be able to travel abroad around 6-10 times a year. I had always avoided Ryanair given their poor reputation but on this occasion the flight times and direct flight service was a no brainer that it was going to work in with our schedule. I must say, apart from them keeping the seatbelt sign on almost the entire flight for 'turbulence' but really being so they could complete their endless sales runs up and down the aircraft aisles the flight was much… Read Full Review

I am sorry for your father, but are you saying that you were asked to leave the aircraft because you either a) didn't read your flight ticket rules or b) you tried to disobey their rules and do it your own way? Just sayin...

Seriously there is more to your story, you did more than that to be forcibly removed from an aircraft by police. Your delusional if you think your actions were justified no matter how many terminally ill people you were visiting. In my eyes - reading between the lines - you deserved to be removed and I would have not let you travel at all.

“Not so budget airline”

Written on: 30/10/2013

The staff were not of any help, very dismissive. Was made to pay a fee last minute before boarding or risked not being able to fly. After this the staff continued to be argumentative even though I informed them that I am 2 months pregnant and was feeling distressed by their behaviour. I later overheard them bad mouthing another passenger. The plane was also very cramped. At 6.30am this whole incident is no what you want after being at the airport all night. “Security booking puzzle doesn't work”

Written on: 27/10/2013 by tegteg (1 review written)

The Solve Media puzzle is stopping me booking flights. Problems: - The puzzle doesn't seem to work on iPads, ie no question given to answer - if you're in a different country, ie France, the thing automatically comes up in French. I don't speak French that well! Ryanair could lose a lot of business using this. Already lost our bookings!… Read Full Review

“Poor customer experience”

Written on: 25/10/2013

Reviewing my first experience of Ryanair. Website VERY annoying - have to go through lots of sections asking if you want more luggage allowance, book seats, book taxi etc etc and this was repeated when printed off boarding pass. We flew from East Midlands to Rome: I found staff unfriendly and wasn't able to understand their on board announcements because member of staff had very strong Italian accent. Felt very sorry for stressed families with young children trying to get seats together, why… Read Full Review

“What do you expect?”

Written on: 23/10/2013 by littlestfish (1 review written)

Having just flown on my first Ryanair flight from Stansted to Lourdes,I can't see why everyone is so critical of Ryanair. The system worked well with online check in and was easy to follow. We opted to pay for extra luggage which was reasonable at £15. Everyone seems to moan about the "hidden" costs, but there was nothing I could see that was "hidden". If you don't want to reserve a seat (a waste of time if you can get to the boarding gate on time)or do speedy boarding (again, completely… Read Full Review

“Best value for money”

Written on: 20/10/2013 by daltosom (1 review written)

I have been flying Ryanair at least 10 times a year for the last 13 years. Because they have so many flights, it is obvious that from time to time one of them might have a problem. But they are much more efficient in solving problems than any other airline, just because paying vouchers and hotels to passengers is more expensive (for them) than bringing you safe at destination. And on time. One recommendation: read carefully their terms & rules the first time you fly and you'll never face a… Read Full Review
