“7 day rule review”

Written on: 18/05/2014 by Sutton491 (1 review written)

will not fly with them again until they have done away with this rule. What does this 7 day rule mean for people? well , if you trip is lasting more than 7 days you cannot print your return journey! oh you can? just as long as you pay extra for allocated seats. I refuse. so this means I will have to find , whilst on holiday an internet café or computer with a printer and print my boarding passes then. good luck with that everyone , have a nice holiday!… Read Full Review

“bad experience”

Written on: 17/05/2014 by audingola (1 review written)

I'm really disappointed and had very bad experience at Ryanair company. Today I had to fly to Portugal to Porto and I missed my flight but the thing gates close 06.30am and we been 06.20am at the gates. Of course we should come earlier but still we had 10 min. Staff who was working even wanted to talk to us and told us if we want we just can change the flight to another time and we need to pay extra money 105 pounds or more. And also we weren't just few people who missed the flight, there was… Read Full Review

“much much better”

Written on: 07/05/2014 by MarinMedina333 (1 review written)

just got back from Gerona. first time I have flown with Ryanair since recent changes in baggage and seat allocation. I have to say that I believe the changes are brilliant and as a regular user (only because fly from Bournemouth) I thought the changes absolutely transformed the service. easy to board with no seat panic and even the staff were a little bit better. credit where credit is due!… Read Full Review

“Shocking customer experience”

Written on: 03/05/2014 by 327Wiley (1 review written)

Customer experience here is terrible. Rude and lazy staff, complicated website, extortionate additional costs, airports miles away from the cities they claim to fly to. I avoid them now like the plague. EasyJet are miles miles better… Read Full Review

Grossservice's Comment

Written on: 04/05/2014

I agree completely. I will never deal with them again. Imagine this. We are going to London and Paris later this month. We were considering taking a side trip to Dublin. We attempted a booking through FlightNetworkSales. For whatever reason, it came back as "not accepted", confirmed later by the booking agency, who were good to deal with. We made other plans which do not include Ireland. Lo and behold, somehow the information got through to RyanAir and they pushed through the ticket. The email confirmation came through from RyanAir and we phoned within ten minutes to point out the error. We were told to basically shove off and complain to whoever we wanted.

FlightNetwork was unsuccessful in trying to get our money back. RyanAir would not honour the agency's cancellation policy of $50. So we are out the entire ticket price of the return tickets.

RyanAir ---- sue us! The truth is an absolute defence to defamation. I have never seen worse customer service.

“Boarding cards only available to print 7 days before...”

Written on: 29/04/2014 by SDabasia (1 review written)

re: stupid rule of not being able to print boarding cards until 7 days before travel meaning you can't print your return flight boarding cards before leaving home if you are on holiday for 7 days or more. I had no access to internet whilst on holiday (which is the way most people want it as they are on HOLIDAY) so unable to print boarding cards and ended up having to pay 210 euros for 3 boarding cards at the airport. Completely ridiculous rule designed to make as much money out of us as… Read Full Review

Can't be bothered to waste my time writing too much. Used them for many years, but now the new 7 day check in rule, I will Never use them again! “vouchers no”

Written on: 23/04/2014 by EveKennedy (1 review written)

I have spent 3 hours trying to book flights to Edinburgh from Dublin with a voucher i received for christmas. I can not continue unless i give my card detail. The voucher is worth €100. The flight was €79.96. I spent over €9.00 on the phone to 2 different gentlemen at 5.50 this afternoon. neither had a clue what i was talking about. if there is somebody answering the phone they should be able to help with ones query. I am livid so so annoyed. One gentleman said if i put in my card details… Read Full Review

Seminara's Response to bumflapped's Review

Written on: 12/04/2014

I too had a similar experience. Last year I was flying from sanstead to Sicily to visit my father who was terminaly ill. I had a small case that was smaller than the size allowed.
I had a small hand bag with my tickets, purse etc in, I had a duty free carry bag with two box of chocolates roses in . I was told I had to put everything in the case. I did put my hand back into the case. However I did not put the chocolates in the case (I did not want them to squashes them) the young man at the gate told me as I had disobeyed I would not be flying that day.( I handed the chocolates to the ground staff at the gate and left them behind) When I got to the entrance of the plane had to unpack to get my tickets out. Once on the plane it was apparent they had over booked and one person was left standing. After a lot of arguing they found the gentleman a seat (one that had been sectioned off at the front) Then the guards came on the plane and asked me to get off. (Their only reason was the young man at the gate wanted me off) I refused. Four armed policemen came on and took me off . I did not fly that day. I did not fly for another two weeks. Fortunately I did get to see my father just before he died but it could have been a very different story.
Ryanair throw me off the plane because I had tried to take two boxes of roses on knowing I was going to visit my dying father.
I would never fly with Ryan air again and I would advise others to boycott Ryanair

“Exceptional Customer Service”

Written on: 03/04/2014 by rhodes169 (1 review written)

I know that there's a lot of poor reviews of Ryanair. Often it's their ground handling staff who are to blame and usually these people work for other companies who are contracted to Ryanair. I have flown with Ryanair many times and do accept that they have many rules which you need to follow if you are to avoid any hassle. I have flown with them twice recently and since they changed their hand-luggage and reserved seating policies. What a difference that has made and travelling with Ryanair is… Read Full Review

Sorry to hear your story. Ryanair have changed their hand luggage policy recently and having flown with them 5 times in the last 6 weeks, I have noticed that things are considerably more relaxed. You can now take a small bag as well as your hand luggage case although some hand luggage gets put into the hold (at no extra charge!) but I've always been able to get mine into the cabin.
The problems you had at the gate are probably down to the ground-handling staff who are not Ryanair. Some of them are really offensive and I know they can be difficult. From what I've seen things are a lot easier now and although this won't help you it might persuade you to give Ryanair another chance.

“would give 0 star if could”

Written on: 24/03/2014

DO NOT USE RYANAIR!! Booked a trip to rome for mothers day as a present for my mum. Paid more for the morning flight so we could spend all mothers day there and I could show her around as I have previously been. Then ryan air informs me they have changed my flight to the cheaper afternoon one, and that they will give me a refund but not for my hotel. I explained the circumstances and asked if as a gesture of good will they could so something, not arsed is an understatement. I know it's a cheap… Read Full Review

“The baggage weigh in racket .”

Written on: 07/02/2014 by JoshC (1 review written)

When we checked in at FuertaVentura with our cases , the lady behind the counter told me I was one KG overweight , I thought this somewhat strange seeing as when I left Luton with exactly the same suitcase and contents I was a bit under the allowance, I had to go to another cubicle and fork out 20 Euros for the excess ??? weight. I said how do I know those scales are accurate ? Also I would have liked to seen some proof that the scales are regularily checked . She pleaded ignorance and I added… Read Full Review

“Terrible Customer service”

Written on: 28/01/2014 by pete-mac (1 review written)

My wife and I booked in early December 2013 to travel from Leeds Bradford to Alicante the following May. We like to sit together and we booked our seat numbers and paid extra. We received the email confirmation that our booking was accepted and the payment left my account. We booked the Hotel separately to suit the flight dates. On December 24th 2013 I received an email stating that our flight time had changed and we could fly on the following day or we could cancel and get a refund. I… Read Full Review

“allocated seating”

Written on: 28/01/2014

We fly frequently with this airline and to be fair you have to abide by their rules and all will be fine. However, we recently paid for booked seats in January and went through smoothly, unlike the normal "cattle market" dash. Have been trying to book for June to go to Kaunas. Now understand you are allocated seats as Easyjet and others do. I was told you could be placed away from family and friends and as I am nervous for me that would be awful. What is worse, unless you pay £5 a seat you… Read Full Review

Actually to clarify this, Ryanair will try and allocate your seats together, therefore if you check in earlier (2 weeks before) you have a better chance of seats together. Its the same with any other airline. Also as with every other airline, if you do get split up, then speak to the cabin crew. Im sure they will help move people around, they aren't that awful!

Flew from Dublin 24/12/2013 to lanzarote for 2 week christmas break. Check in went very smoothly but that was all that was smooth. Our flight was to board at 11.25am and naturally everyone started the mad dash to be in the queue as you are not allocated a seat unless you pay... I realised there was no plane outside so didnt bother.
