“Updates needed”

Written on: 16/07/2012 by ILindsay (1 review written)

I have found lots of lovely cards to send over the past 3 years but it is now time to update the cards on site as some are getting a bit 'past it'. Time for a revamp please Jacqui… Read Full Review

“Sent Jacquie Lawson card this morning..now cannot sign in”

Written on: 14/06/2012

I have been a member of Jacquie Lawson for 2 yrs. I thought they would send me an email when renewal was due...but I was looking at bank account to find they had automatically taken it out for another 2 years...How disgusting is that...This morning I sent one of their cards to a friend...wanted to send another one this afternoon and all of a sudden they do not recognise my email login name...keeps coming up..we have no details of this account. Complained on their form...but just an automated… Read Full Review

“Only Christian Cards!”

Written on: 07/06/2012

There are many different religions in the world, but Jacquie does not honor any of them. She won't even make minor changes to existing cards. To top that off I can find no way to contact them. The contact page leads me to a FAQ page, no place for communication from me. I'd think they'd want to reach out to other religious and non-religious people. Jacquie, make it easy to contact you, I AM a paying customer after all. And remember solstice is coming and many folks see that as an important time… Read Full Review

If you want a specific religion, go to another site that provides this, don't whinge.
Jacqui Lawson site is inexpensive and has lovely cards to suit many occasions, put your own messages onto the many blank cards. Easy!

“No longer reliable”

Written on: 29/05/2012 by Happytrails (1 review written)

I have been a subscriber for years, but the service is no longer reliable. I have just learned from my inqiry to Jacquie Lawson about an undelivered card that they know of the problem, but they have chosen not to notify subscribers. Instead, they suggested I send the card to myself, which apparently works, and then forward it from my mail to my recipients. That routing is what we are now paying for as subscribers!… Read Full Review

“Unfortunate Downhill Slide”

Written on: 05/04/2012

While I think the cards are lovely on the whole and the variety has greatly expanded, I am highly offended by the fact that I must enable cookies, not just on her home page, but with the behemoth Google. Reviews were interesting. Hadn't realized she'd sold out to American Greetings, or that membership was automatically renewed (we'll see about that). Just another example of Internet advertising clutter triumphing over useful information… Read Full Review

“advent calendar”

Written on: 30/12/2011 by Collecte (1 review written)

This used to be one of the best ecard sites ever. The graphics used to be really great, but now they are too airbrushed - not quite as meaningful as they used to be, and rather jerky in movement, which they weren't before. Little by little, cards I have sent to friends and family have remained in cyberspace. My last purchase was ten advent calendars for friends and family. Out of eight (I didn't bother sending the last two) only three people could open them and of those three, one had to… Read Full Review

I have run off a copy of my account showing quite clearly that I DO NOT WISH to automatically renew as I am very concerned about this company. They have just taken money from me but not delivered the goods. Cannot get a reply from them either.

“Pay Money and Never Have Your Cards Sent”

Written on: 28/12/2011 by garrycoleman (1 review written)

After registering with jacquielawson.com, I found that although the e-cards are beautiful, they are far too long for most of the individuals I send them too. If they were shorter, it would be much better. Here's my big problem. I tried to send Christmas cards to all of my contacts this year (figured I would save paper and take advantage of my subscription). When I attempted to send them, they stayed stuck on the jacquielawson server and no one received them. I contacted their support centre. No… Read Full Review

“Boring”

Written on: 22/12/2011

I am a web designer and a fine artist and I have received several Jacquie Lawson cards since they started on biz. Yes, they are nice to watch, like a old fashioned printed card but animated, and you can see the details they add to make it very Victorian. BUT in my opinion, they are sooo boring that I just jump to the end to read the message as soon as I get one. Probably the problem is the slow motion they add, in order to let viewers to enjoy all the artwork. I know some fellows might like… Read Full Review

“Jacquie Lawson Advent calendar”

Written on: 12/12/2011 by jkapke (1 review written)

If anyone orders this Advent Calendar please be prepared to deal with a high level of incompetence. I received an Advent calendar as a gift from my aunt: I installed adobe Air and the Advent calendar as instucted. The box requesting the activation code appears on my screen. I have been waiting fpr the activation code to be sent to my email for more than 4 days!!!!! I have sent at least 25 requests to Jacqui Lawson requesting them to send me the activation code. Please note, I will not use… Read Full Review

“2011 Advent Calendar impossible. So sad for the holidays!”

Written on: 12/12/2011 by lesliesalmonzhu (1 review written)

I have been a Jacquie Lawson fan for years and in fact, sent out 22 cards this season. Years ago, one of my friends liked a card I sent her so much, she decided to get a membership. This year, in a really thoughtful moment, she seny my kids and I the Christmas Advent Calendar, and now it's Dec. 12th , we have not seen on speck of it and we are giving up. Not only was it a disappointment for my family but a REALLY sad experience for the sender, my friend. This was a gift from her to us and it… Read Full Review

“Forced to install unwanted Bloatware.”

Written on: 08/12/2011

I don't think it is acceptable for an e-card to require the installation of software (Adobe Air), which I've never heard of, from a company infamous for Bloatware, and which I always avoid. An e-card should not require installation of ANYTHING… Read Full Review

“Advent Dud”

Written on: 06/12/2011 by cuilt-phil (1 review written)

I normally like the Jacquie Lawson products and have had an account for some time, sending cards and calendars to friends and family. This year's London calendar appears a dud to me: it won't operate on my virtually new, high-spec Dell laptop. Disappointing… Read Full Review

“London Advent Calendar won't work”

Written on: 05/12/2011

I received this as a gift. I cannot install it. My Mac is just 4 years old this month, but my operating system (OSX 10.5.8)is too old to use the Adobe Air 3.1 that is required to open the Advent Calendar. Macs with at least OSX 10.6 are needed to install the calendar. I think this is deceptive in that the demo works fine on all computers. If you tried the demo, wouldn't you think the Calendar would work? I have contacted them several times, but haven't gotten a reply. I think there… Read Full Review

If you have a Mac OS between 10.4 and 10.6 then you will need to download Adobe Air 2.7 rather than 3.1. Here is the info with a link to download and install Adobe Air 2.7

“Jacquie Lawson owned by American Greetings”

Written on: 03/12/2011

Jacquie Lawson is an outstanding English artist producing these cards & calendars. Lawson sold her website to AMERICAN GREETINGS (2006),2nd largest greeting card company in the world(annual sales of $1.7 BILLION. Members could easily be billed for the calendars activated instead of those ordered.Demand refund on calendars activated and call your credit card company. American Greetings is the greedy guy-not Jacquie!… Read Full Review

Professional-Greetingcard-Artist's Comment

Written on: 03/12/2011

I should have said \"demand refund on calendars NOT activated\". JL is a company of 5 people- the customer service should be coming from American Greetings e-card support. Check your credit card billing- the billing for your advent calendars is from American Greetings.

The calendars are outstanding as are the cards. I don't think most people would care if some of the calendars were not activated or didn't work on recipients computers, if the money really went to the artist. But why do we want to give charity to a $1.7 billion corporation, masquerading as a cottage industry in England.
