A friend ordered two calendars for me, one for my daughter and her children in New Zealand and one for me so that I could follow it and would be able to talk to my young grandchildren about it on Skype. Such a disappointment as my daughter is unable to download the advent calendar. Her husband has been unable to download it either and he is totally IT savvy so I guess there is a problem. “Advent Calendar 2012 a Disappointment”

I have love the Jacquie Lawson Advent Calendars for the last few years and have sent many to friends. This year I find it will not work correctly, hangs up, does not perform interactive tasks. I have tried contacting the "Help Desk" which, as others have said, is NO HELP. Perhaps they've grown too quickly or gotten complacent but I doubt I will be ordering another calendar. “It is a lemon”

I have been sent an advent calendar but it is impossible to load it. The help desk was no help. I have done everything they have suggested - turned off the firewall (reluctantly), downloaded Air, kept the browser open - and all I get is an error message. “No help dek”

“Member for years - Never a problem”

I have been a member for over 5 years, and have sent dozens of cards. My friends and family have never had an problem with the cards, and security has never been an issue. I don't understand the comments about certain "tactics" as I have never encountered this. “Customer service is last priority”

Over three weeks ago I have paid one year subscription via PayPal . I am still unable to send any cards. Every time i try, a message comes up saying that i must become a full member. There is no way i can contact Jacquie Lawson. Having to rely just on their help line, does not help the situation. What a scam!! I am a full member, joined in November, whenever I try to send an e-card I am told that I have to join. I have sent numerous messages asking jacquielawson.com to check their records to see that I am a full member. No response. It is extremely frustrating. If you know of anyone who is planning to join, please discourage them from doing so.

“Advent Calendar takes a lot to install”

I love Jacquie Lawson cards & have sent them for years. No problem. This year I decided to send a bunch of friends the advent calendar. Bad move!!! The way they were sent meant they ended up in spam for many. You need a fair amount of computer savvy to install the calendar - installing/updating several plug-ins, downloading the program & installation. “Circus Screensaver Poor Taste”

“Poor Australian Exchange Rate”

I have been using Jacquie Lawson cards for over 3 years. For the past three years I have been complaining that their subscription rate for Australians is $14.75 whereas the actual exchange rate is $11.10. The American subscription rate is $12.00 whereas the actual exchange rate is $11.53. They say they only adjust the rate once or twice a year. They have not adjusted the rate for 3 years. Sorry to hear you're suffering from Jacquie Lawson-itis, but you've joined a huge club! They rip us all off, right, left, centre, then come back for more!
This year I'm so fed up of them but have found 2 other card sites to use, getting more variety. Katies & Ojolie both have a good offerings, different style from JL but prehaps we need to get out of a time warp?

“Pay Pal pymts doesn't work here”

I made 2 seperate payments and they never did show they got them but Pay Pal did so had to make a dispute because Jacquie Lawson site cannceled me and never refunded my money. I never had any trouble making payments until I started using Pay Pal. I have gone round and round trying to get some kind of communication with this site. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!! I was also very surprised to read the negative reviews about the Jacqie Lawson service. I have been a member for many years and NEVER had any problem with friends and family receiving the beautiful cards nor have I experienced any Virus problems. “won't let you send cards”

I have a two year membership with Jacquie Lawson and when I go to send a card they want you to click on some circus desk top or a a gift membership to someone if you don't they will not let you send the card. Reading the complaints on this site I was surprised. I have been a subscriber for many years now and I have always had a good experience. Friends always get their cards and they are very pleased. I just signed up for another two years. The cards are beautiful and the classical music is lovely. I also like the orginal music. “BEWARE - unauthorised debit from credit card!”

Jacquie Lawson took a payment from my credit card without permission. Be very careful if you have previously bought a subscription. I bought a subscription a couple of years ago and now two years later another payment has been automatically taken without any authorisation. The only contact is by email and it is impossible to get a helpful response. Follow-Up. After sending directly to help@jackielawson.com I received a reply: It was the bog standard answer from the question and answer page - ie it told me I could sent a gift membership but I had to pay for it. My email to them had quite clearly given them all the facts - including that I HAD PAID. I have requested that they re-read my email!! I have also now told them that I am putting this on forums (and updating when I hear from them). I am also going to trawl through this and other forums to see what evidence I can get before taking this further. For info, I read on another forum that you may get an answer if you write on a forum - or email directly to: help@jackielawson.com. (but it seems on this occasion they have NOT READ what I have written). Also, if you read Jackie Lawson terms and conditions, they do have an address you can write to in Devon. I will continue to write updates until it is resolved one way or another.

Second follow up: After writing last review I wrote a rather strong email back to (name removed) at JL and asked them to re-read my email and that I had paid! They did and after investigation they informed me that I had ordered twice and against the payment order I had placed an incorrect email address. This was rectified and the card and gift were sent to the correct address: (name removed) then asked me what Forum site I was using and I advised him of this one. He implied that he would be looking at this to see if they can learn from the feedback. I know on another site he contacted some people and resolved this issue to perhaps it is worth looking to see if you have a comment back from him.

ISSUE RESOLVED: 2nd update: JL's reply to my email did not answer my issue (re: comment 1 to this initial review) so I wrote back rather strongly asking them to re-read my email. (Name removed) from JL replied within hours and apologised for the confusion. After investigation, it would appear that because I had tried to initially pay by PAYPAL (JL website had a problem with PAYPAL) and had to pay by card instead that I had ordered twice. My actual payment went against an incorrect email address. (Name removed) resolved this and sent the email and 2 year subscription gift to the correct person. I am now invited to cancel the incorrect card details in my pending box. It was a nice email from him and all is now resolved. He also asked which forum I had been writing on so that he could have a look to see if there are any other unresolved issues he has missed. Perhaps some of you may hear from him in due course.

I am so over Jacquie Lawson! Twice cards that I tried to send did not arrive the other end. The recipients checked their in-boxes and their spam file. Nothing. Trying to contact Jacquie Lawson is impossible. All you ever get is an automated email telling you to check this, this and this. When that fails, you simply cannot get hold of a human being so you have no alternative but to give up, which, presumably, is what they hope you will do. I have just paid for a "gift" subscription on this site - having enjoyed using the site myself for some years. The card is stuck in pending and invites me to "Pay Now" - BUT I HAVE ALREADY PAID AND THE MONEY HAS LEFT MY BANK! I have written 3 emails via website + 1 email directly to help @ Jackie Lawson. Like you, I am getting nowhere. If they know that they have a problem, they should resolve it. To take money intentially knowing that you cannot deliver is totally unacceptable.

I have now resolved my problem with Jackie Lawson. And in fairness it may have been something I did. Full details are on 118, my Review. It took some doing but it you send an email directly to help@jackielawson.com it does seem to get them and it does seem to help in getting a reply. I have also advised (name removed) from their company about this forum - so perhaps many of you will have your problems resolved in the future.
