“No Diwali cards!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 24/10/2022

No Diwali cards or anything suitable. Amazingly un- diverse. Website address books chaotic and updated fir the worse. . Time consuming loading of cards/pages. Unsuitable fir those with ADHD. No faster speed option as with Audible. Video Cards are too long snd aged, suitable for children and elderly. None contemporary. Fee static cards and of the 2/3 they are too aged to send. No changes regardless of complaints. Hard to believe I paid for 3 yrs subscription for this with no redress!

“Great Cards Great Price”

★★★★★

written by Sweetydolly on 30/07/2022

Not sure how $20 with unlimited access is anything but FAB!! I have so enjoyed sending out the creative Artistic array of ecards over the years. My colleagues friends and family just love receiving the beautiful music with fancy videos to watch! I enjoy sorting through the collection and always able to select a card that suits their personality and occasion J

“Too Many Steps and Time Needed to Simply Send an Ecard”

★★☆☆☆

written by MalloryWard281 on 24/03/2022

New Site is not user friendly or efficient. I'm busy and want to get cards out thoughtfully and easily. There are other less expensive sites that are faster. After years of using it I will not continue. Unfortunately I renewed 2 months ago for 2 years, big mistake with no refunds, customer service is non existent.

“NO HELP AVAILABLE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by RedPin on 09/03/2022

I went on to find an anniversary card. I found one card and I didnt like it. Furthermore, several cards meant to have music didn't play. But no way to report it or fix it. Wish I could get my money back. It is nothing like it was several years ago. Purchase at your own peril.

“Lovely cards for everyone. BUT”

★★★★★

written by SusanJE on 03/03/2022

The cards and choices are lovely and make sending your love or best wishes to someone so easy. However they have 'Updated their Web site'. Why fix something that was not broken. the new one is not clear and not so easy to use. Very disappointed

“Do not trust this company ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Hamiltonmu482 on 05/01/2021

I am a pensioner and could not afford to renew my subscription. My listed. Registered credit card with them had expired so I did not update it. However, the renewal amount was deducted from my new credit card! How can they do this / I do not know!! It should be against the law to deduct without authorisation on a new card. I have sent two emails, but as expected no reply. Jacquie Lawson you should be ashamed of yourself.

“Their customer service is terrible”

★★☆☆☆

written by PlantJunkie on 24/12/2020

I joined 6 months ago and recently I wanted to send some holiday cards but I discovered I lost my password. Their Forgot Password NEVER sent me a link, despite numerous attempts. This is a company that constantly sends me emails, so I know that they definitely have my email. I sent a message to their customer service and NEVER got a reply. Really a marginal company.

“Disappointing”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Floodue130 on 09/12/2020

After years of enjoying the JL Christmas calendars our family has been so disappointed with the 2020 Nordic calendar. Very few activities in the cottage, no activities 9 days into the calendar and overall quite dull. I wouldn't recommend it for the cost. The children have been particularly disappointed everyday to open it up and find another animation, which isn't very appealing to the young ones. Also difficult that you can't access it through web browsers this year. :( Overall it's been pretty anti-climatic!

“Damaging the name of Jacquie Lawson. Tragic and shameful.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GrandmaConnie on 07/12/2020

I have purchased JL Advent Calendars every year since they began and been a member for even longer. In common with very many other negative reviews online my calendar does not work even though I have the correct Windows 10. two requests for help are ignored by the company. Disgraceful from a company that was so very wonderful for so long.

“Great disappointment ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 04/11/2020

Have been a customer of JL for years. Advent calendars have always been easily downloadable. This year they have introduced an app which is unnecessary and the only reason I can think of is they can charge twice the price. Have a look at feedback on their app. A few disgruntled customers. I have joined them. What a shame. It takes a long time to build a good reputation but something like this will set them back. Customers are not stupid. I won’t be ordering from them again.

“Lovely cards and calendars”

★★★★★

written by Sara7 on 26/06/2018

I have subscribed to Jacquie Lawson, for about 5 years now. I download the Advent calendars and send them to friends as early Christmas gifts. This summer I am enjoying the English Garden. There is usually no problem with delivery, but occasionally cards end up in the recipient's spam box. The one time one of my recipients had a problem with downloading an Advent calendar we were able to resolve it using the site's standard instructions. I haven't had a problem with JL's financial arrangements, and it is very cost effective so be able to send as many cards as you want throughout the year for a nominal annual fee. I love the beauty and serenity of the JL cards and calendars, and I enjoy the activities and games as a little break in a busy day. My only aesthetic objection is that the pet animals are too cutesy, but I can live with that. Some of my friends who are going through personal hard times have told me that they love the JL calendars and find them comforting. Finally, I like the short history and culture lessons. Five stars!

“Very satisfied”

★★★★★

written by blackbeauty51 on 28/12/2017

I have used the e-card service for nearly 4 years without complaint. My friends love receiving the cards. I can easily find a card that is appropriate for the recipient. Cards are always sent. They may not be seen because they may go to the recipient's Junk mail because of their settings. But I can always check the status of my cards and re-send with a personal note to the person to check their junk mail. I have never ordered the Advent calendar (not my taste) and I don't do the automatic renewal - they send a reminder and I respond in time.

“2017 Alpine Advent Calendar”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 03/12/2017

I so enjoyed the 2016 Advent Calendar that I ordered the 2017 Alpine Calendar this year. It is a serious disappointment. I can go to each day's activity and complete the activity, but when is click on "Return to Scene" the program does not take me back. I have to re-download. Then, when I open on the village scene, nothing that I have done shows up. The scene remains the same as it was at the beginning and does not show my Christmas tree that I created and tried to put on display. I contacted Jacquie Lawson on their site for help with this problem. Three days later--no response.

“Jacquie Lawson eCards are pretty but boring so pretty...”

★★★☆☆

written by Alexanderq146 on 26/12/2016

I seem to be the only one out there that finds the Jacquie Lawson cards way too boring. Cliche with a capital C. The first few times I "watched" one of her ecards, honestly, I was in awe because of the artwork. That was way back when she first started. Now, about 15 years later, her cards are exactly the same. Funny. Even the yellow lab is still there! Here are some of the words I use to describe Jacquie Lawson cards: Boring Long winded Predictable Same old, same old Too slow Too long Despite being animated, not enough action Same (or similar) old music Too cliche (I'll explain) Not creative: good artwork doesn't equal creativity Not funny Not entertaining (to me) Grandma content and material Dumb endings The good: The artwork reflects great skills. The same old music is not bad music but of same genre. Why cliche? Well, take a look at her Christmas cards, for example. Snow, deer, fireplace, candles, snow covered pine trees, the yellow and/or black lab (not cliche but they need to be there always). The plot is always the same and very cliche. Why? Because they only have a handful of plots they choose from. Remember, thinking outside the box, creativity, is not a skill they possess. The worst scenario is when friends or family send you one of Jacquie Lawson's cards. They often expect a reply from you and lots of thank-you's. I can do that, no problem there, but having to sit through and watch the entire card is pure torture for me. You always feel like you are obligated to do it or you get emails from your friends or family with: "hey, didn't you get my card? you gotta open it and watch it!" And also, they really want your feedback on the card they carefully chose for you! Just lie to them folks, no need to hurt their feelings. Yes the card was rather gagging and boring, but your friend's intentions were good! One new observation that I've just made: The newest cards are worse than the old ones. As a fellow designer these cards look like a lot of cut and paste work to me. They have cheapened the cards so they can crank them out faster in the hopes that no one will notice. I've got news for you Ms Lawson and American Greetings, I noticed!

“Appalling non existent communications”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Murdoch50 on 11/12/2016

They charged be for ten advent calendars when I only ordered three. One calendar being for myself which I did not receive. Twice contacted them to no avail. Similar problems last year where once again I was over charged AND I never had communication from them. Their cards and advent calendars are very good. But they should seriously do something about their admin section.

“Advent Calendar Order Problems”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GKNL on 29/11/2016

For several years I have ordered and enjoyed the annual Jacquie Lawson Advent calendars and shared them with others. This year I can indicate how many calendars I would like but when I go to place my orders, I ended up in an endless loop of the login page regardless of which of many web browsers I've tried . I never get to the site for entering my choice of payment and finalizing my order. I have used the "contact us" option on at least 3 occasions and only received a response to my first comment saying I can't use Internet Explorer. This is most frustrating and surely in this internet era, could easily be fixed by savvy tech support. What say you?

“Customer service is email only and it is awful”

★★★☆☆

written by Milescm480 on 29/11/2016

The cards may be nice, but if you goof up somehow, you can only write an email for help. I did that and it appeared they didn't even read it before they pasted a reply. They do not have phone customer service - so if you goof up, your out of luck and money.

How can I contact jacquie lawson in order to question why they have cashed my check? Dated Feb. 9 and cashed trough my bank on Feb. 13,for renewed membership , yet are notifying me that my membership has expired? Nothing I have tried allows me to make a more personal contact in order to straighten this out. Also, I paid $18 as per the company information. However, the last renewal /expiration notice says it is only $12. Please, please, please a contact that can help would be helpful.

According to another review here, the company was bought by American Greeting and since then the customer service has tanked. I suggest that you contact your bank, though it may be too late to get your money back. I don't know what we can do to stop dishonest companies from ripping us off. There don't seem to be any laws to protect us any more. Good luck.

Dear Mr/Mrs Nelsen, I wish I could help you. Since I removed Jacquie Lawson from my life, I also deleted all e-mails from the company. They were pretty useless as if sent by an automatom. The other reply mentions American Greeting. One option is to try & contact them. The other is to contact the source that you paid through. If it was Visa for example, try and put a stop on the payment (reverse the payment). If that happens, then there is a chance that their customer service dept may try & contact you. Sorry I could not help further.

I had some trouble with them in 2012. I wrote several emails, at first I was getting just automated replies but in the end I am afraid I wrote a really strong email in Red and In capital letters. I advised them I was keeping all records as evidence and would take it further, if necessary, to ensure my matter was resolved. I also informed them that I was using review forums and suggested they read the comments. Someone came back to me in response to this email and he did resolve my problem. In fairness I have renewed again - but I do not use the automatic renewal system. I probably will not renew with them again as they still seem to be ignoring their on-going issues. Hope this helps.

This company seems to have made it impossible for clients to contact them when a payment problem arises. I have paid for a subscription about a year ago using PayPal I have tried all i could to contact them but to no avail. Since I live in Australia, the only thing I did not try is phone them. It is absolutely wrong for a company that charges a fee for its services not to provide a means of communication. Actually, I believe it should be made illegal. I have not pursed the matter with PayPal due to the small amount involved. I have accepted my financial loss and have no intention to try to resolve the issue. I have simply gone elsewhere for my e card needs. Should i be requested by anyone to give an opinion on their customer service, it will certainly be very negative. Complete waste of time and money.

Agree with the previous reviewers answering this. I even searched UK telephone directories for a telephone number without success HOWEVER, I did succeed in getting a refund on my subscription in January which had been deducted twice, by persist e-mailing and threatening them with action by the credit card company. I have fully cancelled my subscription. I'm just waiting to see my latest statement before I hoot too loudly to make sure that they do not try and take anything else now that I have my money back! If like me you do not have time to keep repeating the story or responding to non-sensical message they send, I just kept re-sending my message. I had it set up to just copy and paste the same message every day just changing the heading to reflect the number of the reminder we were on e.g Third reminder as no action taken, fourth reminder etc. Not sure if I was lucky or they just got fed up with me but hang on in there. Good luck.
