This Breville Hot Cup is an interesting kettle. It does not work like the other 'instant' kettle on the market. I think that one pumps water around a heating coil and so it never quite boils - the main gripe as I understand it. This kettle works in a more conventional way. 250ml of water is transferred from the 'reservoir' (which you fill up like a normal kettle) and is boiled. I recommend this Breville Hot Cup. My lodgers are terrible for putting up to a litre of water in the kettle and then just boiling for one cup. Whats left goes cold and has to be reheated again. If you reckon that this unit just boils 250ml in one go, thats saved 750ml from being unnecessarily being heated up! I also don ' t like the taste of re-boiled water! What are you waiting for --- go out and buy a Breville Hot Cup, or two - they make great presents! Most importantly - unlike its competition (begins with T and ends in L) - this item heats the water to a temperature which is high enough to make a decent cup of tea!
