i am totally inlove with this car!...its my everday drive and is extreamly reliable. i have done small upgrades, t2.5 turbo running at 1bar boost, 63mm exhaust from down pipe till the back, just with these the car runs insane!!!!!
i have taken on and beat alot of fancy sport cars (s2000,golf 5 GTI, Golf 6 GTI, and alot more!)i have driven alot of high powerd turbo and N/A cars and only a few can come close to the thrill the Uno turbo gives you!!

The Fiat Uno Turbo is the best car. Good points are size, agility, power

I had one of this and it was the most exciting car I ever had! It cost me very little money to buy it and fix it and it gave me very big pleasure....it has great acceleration because is very light...but you cant stop it easy after 100km...No one is perfect! For its time (90s) I think that it was the best turbo car including Renault gt5!

The Fiat Uno Turbo is an excellent car... I always go back to them even having owned many other cars...
Fast.
Rare.
Look great.
Devoid of most styling atrocities of the 90's (ala Renault 5 etc)
Once you own one youll always want another.

I've had my Uno Turbo for a year now and so far I haven't had any mechanical problems. No one has beat me off the lights yet. Recommended if you like that sort of thing be aware of rust and thrashed engines!

I have a Fiat Uno Turbo and it is the best £2000 I ever spent on a car. It a 1.4 running 165 bph at 18psi of boost. I spent a lot of time and money to get the power from it.

I owned a Fiat Uno 1.4L Turbo for a few years and there is only one way to describe this car - "Too fast for it's own good!' My car was lowered on racing suspension with momo rims, steering wheel and shifter boot. I had a custom Downpipe on my turbo and about 2 inch exhaust piping from the headers back. My turbo pressure was turned up just a bit from factory trim.
Overall a fun car to have but not your everyday grocery getter type of car - with the car lowered the amount of cushion in the suspension is almost 0 - you feel every bump and rock. BUT, if your racing this is a great thing. The Uno is so light it should be illegal. It allows that little 1.4 L to send it rocketing to over 250km/h very, very quickly. I've raced BMW's, Porches, and more and didn't lose very often. On long trips it's a workout to drive at speed but on the long straight roads it loves to roam free.
I've topped out at 262km/hr racing a Hayabusa motorcycle.

It is frankly laughable to allow 17 year old boy racers to allow to place this old tin box from the year dot to get almost as high a rating as a Ferrari 360 Modena F1. If I followed the advice of this site I'd find myself looking at Maestro's and Uno's as practical motoring choices. This part of the site needs to be divided in to cars less than five years old (or 15 years in the case of this heap) and bangers, because a Uno is a banger.

The Fiat Uno Turbo overall was ok I had to mod everything to make it good enough for me. The cosmetics were poor but I did it with accessories and lowered wheels 17''

Rather don't buy a Uno Turbo if you need a car, buy a Uno turbo if you need a unreliable toy!

What a load of rubbish! I've had two Uno Turbo's and one Punto GT Turbo and I've only had two problems with them.

Problem 1, was on a mk1 Uno Turbo and the electric windows stopped working along with the wipers. I changed the fuses and all was OK.

Problem 2, was on the Punto GT and it was the coil pack.

There were no other problems at all.

I have had my Fiat Uno Turbo Mk1 now for 3 years, it has been completly rebuilt and resprayed in Vdub Blue incl. wheelarces & bumpers, koni adj.shocks (yellow),OMP Drilled/grooved discs. braided brakehoses also OMP, soft brakepads, OMP strutbrache front, Sebering exaust 103 mm, 4 harness OMP seatbelts, Abarth black leather steeringwheel and gearshift. Mk 2 Interior, Digi dash (very rare), Raised turbopress up to 1.5 Bar (home made elec.switch) Forge dumpvalve, K&N airfilter, Alfa 33 electric window switches (glow in the dark!, just plug & play thats all) Gearbox from 1.5 Uno with longer 5th gear. Standard rims (two-tone grey) polished with Toyo's 175/60-13
Car is very fast 0-100 km/h can be done in the 7 sec range (wheelspin in third gear doing around 100 Km/h in the wet is not amusing!), topspeed over 235Km/h (and still pulling, ran out of road!)
I owned a few Uno's (about 8 of them) and I'm the founder/chairman of the Ducht Fiat Uno Ownersclub, visit our site at www.fiatunoclubholland.nl
They have to kill me first before I buy another car!
Projects (still under construction) are 1.3T Mk1 engine with Turbo from Volvo T5 and NOS injection Kit! and water/nitro injectionkit on intercooler and an Uno with Lancia Delta Turbo 1.6 engine with 2Ltr Turbo and manifold!
Everybody thinks the Turbo sign on the back of the Uno is a joke, they stop laughing when you pull away from them doing 200 Km/h.
Last question "would I recommend this to a friend?" Hell NO, in the hands of an inexperienced driver it's a widowmaker!

I have a 1993 Fiat Uno Turbo 1.4 i.e. not modified, yet as fast as a BMW 530d, 325i, many Audi's, only BMW 6-series was faster, once I left behind a motorcicle in a curve at 210 km/h, then I pushed it to 240 km/h slightly downwards. It felt like driving a Cessna, it was dangerous and beautyfull.
I want a bigger turbo, Garrett or Turbonetics Hybrid T3/T4, bigger wheels and brakes, new suspensions. My Uno is not a bit rusty, looks like a new one, it's protected with Tectyl, I want to have it for ever! The only car I would consider having in second place is Fiat Coupe 2.0 Turbo 20 V Integrale. But having Uno Turbo causes an addiction, after all it's about how you drive to make the best out of the car.

I had one of these Fiat Uno Turbo's once (borrowed, actually). Badly built, thrashy engines and a ghastly gearbox. Front wheel drive was also awful with turbo power.
Now the provence of the Burberry baseball-cap brigade: the car and owners go well together.

I have had my Uno turbo mk1 for around 3 months without a hint of trouble, I had a close race with a Civic Type R the other day, it'll kill any Clio or Escort around, sweet sounding engines and respect to anyone who owns one out there!

So, it'll kill any Clio or Escort around will it? Not long before you add a pedestrian, yourself or perhaps another driver to the 'kill' list. But I'm sure when you're 'ragging' your little car you don't let small considerations like that worry you, eh?

No respect, I'm afraid.

I Modified my FIAT Uno Turbo MK2 when i bought it, with k&n, dump valve, custom build 4" system, Super Chip, lowered, 15" five spokes. Funnily enough on my test drive one of the rear callipers was in need of replacing so the vehicle had no brakes what so ever. One of the most terrifying experiences of my life. Also the one which made me fall in love with it. Raced every car i could and was beaten once by a celica GT4. BMW's a personal favorite to spank. Got 140 out of it before i chickned out. Has inspired me to go for the holy grail of motoring a ... lancia delta HF integrale evo 2. Still got the dump valve from the uno to whack on it.

my first car was a Fiat uno turbo mk2 at 17 i would not advise it.As now i have no licence and no car.

I agree, it certainly would be more helpful if the car reviews were divided in two. pre 2000 and post 2000 or something like that. May we put that in the suggestion box please Moderators?!
