Absolutely love this place; lovely, scenic,wooded country atmosphere yet very close to all the shows and activities. This was third visit to Westgate and most enjoyable yet. I am sorry to hear about this.
Hotels that choose to advertise on Booking.com set the rate/policy of the rooms that are displayed, with many properties offering guests various options to select from. Often, this will include a pay when you stay, free cancellation (up to a date specified by the property) at the highest rate. Conversely, the same room type, book now/pay now, no cancellation/modification at a lower rate. These details are provided prior to booking under the the "conditions" column (with additional details provided in a pop up box when cursor is held over the blue "?"). If you would like to provide your booking number, I can contact the property to ask if they will authorize a free cancellation.

Before using Booking.com, go to consumeraffairs.com and read over 300+ complaints against this company. Buyers Beware!!!!! that's all I can say. Not a good company to do business with. “Most wonderful hotel!”

We just came back from our 5 day vacation on the South of Italy. We were 2 couples in our late 40's. This hotel was superb! The photos at the site do not do justice to the building or the beauty of the location: literally on the side of the rock. There's nothing between you and the bluest ocean. We rented a car, and went on day trips to other towns (as far away as Pompeii). Palace Residence Rosebury Crescent Edinburgh. We booked for 8 weeks and the flat was dirty, the landlady had a party each week the longest till 3 am when we phoned her to get her to stop music and noise. that is the problem - people who have had their reservations cancelled do not have a way of passing on the warning to other potential guests. guests have to look to external reviews to find out the truth, and the hotels ratings are much lower as compared to booking.com so i don't think booking.com reviews can be trusted.

i don't think that booking.com understands how awful it is to have a reservation cancelled. having a reservation cancelled on arrival is an extremely upsetting experience, and guests have no way of knowing in advance that it could happen at a certain hotel. up until it happened to me, i had no idea that it happened at all.

i thought it was just a problem with the hotel i stayed at, but apparently it is a prevalent issue at many hotels that booking.com works with. a simple perusal of the reviews on reviewcentre for booking.com i would like to know what you

i did not know i would have had the option of receiving assistance from booking.com when my reservation was cancelled as it is not communicated at any time during the booking and confirmation process.

this situation has already been investigated, but i welcome your additional attention to the matter. i would like to think that the hotel has repercussions within your company for cancelling bookings like that, but i doubt that it matters.

my concern cannot truly be addressed due to the nature of your ratings system, so i stand by my original statement - prospective guests should not trust the hotel reviews on your site because they do not accurately reflect what seems to be a common problem - cancelled reservations.

I checked into this hotel on 5/1/14 and when I went to my room it looked tired and worn. There was obvious damage to a lampshade. “Lousy Customer and Charge for canceled reservations”

I can't see how they got a decent rating on this site. Every other site I checked had them listed as one of the Worst! Customer service is arrogant and they don't give a damn about anything. They don't accept responsibility for any booking as they are an agent and claim no liability. What good are they; not much. Booking.com prides itself on providing the best possible customer service, I apologize that you feel this was not what you received. Hotels that choose to advertise on Booking.com provide the photos/descriptions of the properties. To ensure guests have a clear understanding of what the property is offering, Booking.com also provides the hotels star rating (from an independent source), as well as previous guest reviews. Additionally, the hotels provide the rate/policy of the rooms that are offered, with many hotels providing various options to meet various needs of guests. Some of those options may include pre paid/non refundable bookings, at a lower rate. While Booking.com requires a valid credit card to make a booking, unless clearly indicated prior to booking, Booking.com does not charge guests(a booking fee or process payment). All details are forwarded to the property, who will process payment within the terms of the selected booking. I would like to look into the problems you experienced, can you please provide your booking number?

Because I am a manager in a hotel and I was choosing booking.com to work with and to travel with, I am sad that there are lots of thing that I don't like about this engine. First it says only 1 room available which is not true because hoteliers don't give all the rooms to booking.com to sale. I realize some properties may have rooms that are not advertised on Booking.com, when guests are advised that availability at a property is limited, it is in reference to only the rooms that are advertised on Booking.com. I do understand your concern over negative guest reviews, especially when a hotelier works so hard to satisfy a variety of guests/expectations. Having read many guests responses to reviews, I have come to accept that many well traveled guests do not pay attention to the best or worst reviews, as those in the middle provide the most accurate description of a property. “Incorrect hotel address”

We jumped in a taxi at JFK airport & gave the driver the address of the hotel. After 20 minutes of driving we could tell he was lost.
