I have always founded the website and the app user friendly. I always trip advise before I book the hotel and generally they have the cheapest price. I have not had one bad problem with them, so I will continue to use them. I liked app which I have just used and it is really simple to use. I wanted to share my recent misadventures with booking.com so that the same thing does not happen to you. I booked a hotel for Marseille in October 2015. The room booked (Hotel le Vieux port) was indicated as a 2 adults + 2 children room. But, when I arrived, the room was only for 2 adults and one child! While on a trip to europe ny wife decided to change a booking. She called Customer Support (from Austria no local number - cost over $100 in phone call fees). The request was to cancel two nights in Munich and and add two nights to a stay in Salzburg Austria. “Beware! The "Total Price" is not the total price! ”

When you book on booking.com, it displays the "Total Price" at the end. It says, "The "Total price" shown above is what you will pay the accommodation property. We don't add reservation fees or any other charges." That's a lie! They will add credit card fees, however, to find out what these fees are, you need to go to the website of the hotel you are booking and read their fine print. “Ignorance, template care”

I understand Booking.com is a intermediary company and bookings are going through their site, however when issues arise, their customer service is terrible. I had 3 different replies from 3 different people, writing the same template message and copy and paste their policies. Very white or black, however when the issue is unique, they don't have a clue how to solve it and rather be ignorant about it. My husband and I previously stayed at Amalfi Resort Busselton Western Australia about 5 or 6 years ago and were happy with our stay back then. 1- the so called lower price guarantee is in fact the same price you get when you call direct 2- you are charged if you cancel less than 3 days before whereas most hotels don't even have that policy. And it doesn't warn you All it says is that you don t get charged until you get there!!!! 3- if you have a problem nobody ever calls you back you are left with endless calls to make that you pay roaming for! I've never been so disappointed in a hotel experience. This hotel staff and management almost ruined my trip to the beautiful island of Florianopolis. I flew 6,500 miles from Los Angeles to come to Floripa and stay in a 5-star resort. Haha, 5-stars. Well here's the story. Hi I recently stayed at Black Tulip Hotel (Istanbul) and I would recommend this hotel to everyone. I want to say that Ali, Cuma and Önder were very wonderful from start to finish.
