“NO SECUTITY at MELBOURNE INN Barbados 135 4th Dover”

The room had mold, mopped with dirty water, no view of anything, NO SECURITY at Melbourne Inn Barbados. I over looked that because it fit my work budget. For a couple more dollars you can stay at the beach hotels or the main strip Inn's in Dover. I requested that my room not be entered unless I was notified, Melbourne Inn Barbados management agreed to my request. I went to a meeting when I got back, some things were removed from my room. After having received confirmation for my summer holiday made with much anticipation , I received a messagge informing me that rates published were wrong and they could not honour price given. It is the first time something like this happens to me. Once you find a good rate, you book it and it's done. I did not agree . I had the most horrible experience. Used this website. Got an email with a Confirmation number, everything looked fine. When I arrived at the hotel they were over sold it was Spring Break everything was sold out! it was a mission to get to speak with them had to wait for more than 45 minutes on hold at midnight and they were not able to help me. On Feb 28th I went in to look for a hotel for April 28th. The site seems great, look-- reserve-- no upfront charges etc. But I put a hotel on reserve for the same day due to their site auto loading the current day into their stay calendar. So because it was less than 24 hours away, it auto charged, them no showed, and I paid for the ENTIRE STAY (not just the first night) because of a mistake on my part and an auto load date on their part. Be carefull when you display hotel list at booking.com. The "Our recommendaitons first" (which is the default) hotel list is ONLY based on the amount of commision the hotel is paying to booking.com, no matter what so being totally tricky. Sort your list on any other criteria. You want to save money ... search whatever you liked and google the hotel name and book straight forward with them int their website or call them and they will be glad you to give you a discount instead of paying high… Read Full Review

“Could do better”

I stayed in the single room for 2 nights, whilst newly decorated and pristine I felt the room was too cluttered the corner unit was useless as was the bureau in the other end of the room and a small chair would have been useful. I slept quite well but the glass fanlight above the door lit up the whole room the hall light was eventually turned off but when people returned late the light was turned on and my room lit up waking me. Making a booking was quite easy. All is automated and worked as expected. But then we needed to make a change and it was impossible. We had to pay 2 nights accommodation that we didn't use from our original 7 day booking even though the hotel was happy to take the cancellation at no charge. However, they couldn't refund us as booking.com had been paid for the whole booking. We tried to contact someone repeatedly for two days at booking.com viva phone and emails with no response at all. “Never Again at The Parkview, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee!!!!”

I book a room at the Parkview in Gatlinburg, Tennessee through booking.com. The hotel was nasty and the staff was rude. The room had did not even have bathroom tissue or a plug for the bathtub!!! I booked a stay at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio in San Antonio, then had to change my plans due to a family illness. The website promised a free cancellation up to three days prior to my stay. We booked with Booking.com and the price they quoted was incorrect. The resort charged me more and claimed that booking.com only had one person in the room. We were in a foreign country so had to pay the extra because what are you going to do. I emailed booking.com with my problem and got no response and still have not 5 days later.
