I stayed at the Premier Inn, Milngavie for three weeks during September/October 2014. I am seventy, travelling alone, with business in Glasgow. During my stay, I had not one complaint. The Reception staff were wonderful - lots of local information re shopping, public transport, libraries, churches. “customer service is not good”

I had a problem with writing a review for two of the hotels I stayed in last year. I will not go into details as this was discussed in great length with the support. Eventually though, after many promised and tossing me around, the problem was never fixed and they just decided to forget about it. I love the site, or more precisely loved it before. Misleading advertising on Booking.com website. Was very disappointed in accomodation. Pictures show modern updated apts, and also somewhat shabby looking apt pictures. “Old mill bath”

Very nice , stayed for bath half marathon, had lovely relaxed meal in resturant great food and service , close to bath we got a taxi due to daughter running but easy walk on a nice day, lovely views m great breakfast, Only bad point daughter said was abit noisy when hen party returned ! First of all: booking.com does not do bookings - it forwards them automatically by IT to the hoteliers... Because they want to have a direct handcuff for the customer, they confirm at once - in the name of the hotelier - regardless, what the hotelier wishes. Their published informations are not checked - or other wise from fairly irresponsible people in charge - because almost nothing is really completely right. I am frequent traveler that has used Booking.com dozens of times (Genius level). Before this incident, I highly recommended this site to my friends (5/5). I highly recommand that you reserve directly with the hotel of your choice and be aware to use only Booking.com for hotels list and prices, the raison is that somme infos are imcompleted, and by reserving on booking.com open the door for extra charges that you didn't expected. Some infos aren't explained or detailed on the website that is why if you call and deal directly with the hotel you will know exactly what you will pay for and what will you get for what you pay. Worst booking service ever! Asked for hotel in Chadstone Melbourne got one in Bayswater Melbourne 2 hrs away from the centre of Melbourne. Not counting time getting to train station total journey about 3 hrs! I am sorry to hear what has happened. I do understand and appreciate that you made your reservation via Booking.com. However, when a consumer makes a reservation through the Booking.com service, a direct and legally binding contract is created between that consumer and the Hotel in question. From the point of reservation onwards, the relationship lies solely between the Hotel and the consumer, and the Hotel remains responsible for supplying the accommodation service. From the point at which you make your reservation, Booking.com acts solely as an intermediary between you and the hotel, transmitting the details of your reservation to the relevant hotel and sending you a confirmation email for and on behalf of the hotel. In case of requests/complaints, our dedicated staff will always do their utmost to mediate with the booked Hotel in an attempt to reach a satisfactory solution or settlement; however, this also depends on the situation and the cooperation of the Partner Hotel, and a positive outcome is not always possible. Here’s a little 7 point plan

1. Make it clearer what you are getting into when booking on your site . You have no rights whatsoever to cancel

2. Allow customers to pay a small premium should they wish to cancel if the owner is unresponsive. This owner responded to nothing expect a text asking me not to contact them

3. When customers are asked not to make any contact with an owner because its ‘harassment’ – you remove that property immediately!

4. Send me a £600 voucher as a gesture of goodwill to rebook a holiday to replace the one booked with you

5. Get rid of scripted emails and telephone conversions – annoying

6. Stop spamming me every day with emails about the location we never went to.

7. Listen

As the owner, when the system of booking will make double booking, property cannot do anything. Contacting booking all you will hear is sorry , not our problem. Client don't want to change for other property, so the only thing is let the client arrive and inform that they stay in other hotel since this is booking polices! “Cancellation hassle”

I cancelled a hotel with booking.com one month prior to departure. Cancellation was supposed to be free up to a few days prior to departure and total refund guaranteed. It has been a total complicated process to get refunded. I had to send copies of payments made to my account. It took one full month to get refunded. They didn't not refund me the full amount and I had to send again proof of initial payment and incomplete refund. It took about 10 emails and it is not even sort it out, although… Read Full Review

Hi,

I am going through same problem. I have their emails which states I will be paid off the difference after my stay. I just have to provide them with invoices. Its been a month but nobody seems to come back or help me with my refund. It is the worst ever service I have come across. I would recommend online nobody should use booking.com. They are useless and never ready to help. The customer would end up in a mess and would receive no help from booking.com for whatsoever reasons.

“10% "Genius Discount" is fake”

Been travelling with booking.com worldwide for a few years now. Have so many bookings that supposedly I get a 10% "booking Genius" discount as they call it. Just compared the price with normal account, and its actually 3% discount, not 10% as stated. That's just shameless marketing. The Genius rate is available only for certain rooms at specific properties. A Genius property might have rooms that are not offered at the special rate, and if you’ve booked one of these, you won’t get the Genius discount. Also if you made the reservation without being signed in, you might have missed out on the Genius rates. If you’re not seeing the Genius icons during the reservation process, it’s a sign that you might be missing out on the discount. Once you pick a property, the rooms that have Genius rates will be clearly labelled with the Genius logo. Remember, not all rooms have the Genius discount. If you’ve chosen the Genius rate for the room you’re booking, this information will be displayed all through the booking process and on your confirmation email as well. I hope I have addressed your concern.

A beautiful resort in the middle of oil palms and rubber trees plantations where it's possible to relax and sleep good. The rooms were extremely clean and the food fantastic.
