I booked a stay at the Hilton Palacio Del Rio in San Antonio, then had to change my plans due to a family illness. The website promised a free cancellation up to three days prior to my stay. I attempted to cancel eight days in advance. The booking.com website would not give me a cancellation confirmation number. “Quoted one price and resort charged me $1200 more”

We booked with Booking.com and the price they quoted was incorrect. The resort charged me more and claimed that booking.com only had one person in the room. We were in a foreign country so had to pay the extra because what are you going to do. I emailed booking.com with my problem and got no response and still have not 5 days later. “They show price in your currency (GBP in my case) and...”

They show price in your currency (GBP in my case) and actually charge in EURO. As a result I got charged 25£ more for my reservation than showed at the time of booking and they claimed it was due to conversion rate. 25£ - really?? “avoid using this company”

I used booking.com where they advertised under a different company name called edreams. I made an expensive reservation through quidco via this edreams fully expecting to reciecve the 12 % rebate advertised. I never received the rebate and both edreams and subsequently booking.com denied making it even though I had the official confirmation and took the holiday. A year on and I am no nearer getting the rebate. I would advise anyone to be cautious when dealing with these companies… Read Full Review

The customer service stinks. A fault on there iPhone site, led to a dispute about breakfast. The site did not mention it wasn't included. I rang to complain I was cut off once and on the following call I asked to speak to someone with authority they put me through to the B and B without telling me or the proprietor. Was given awesome helpful service when my booking was done fro the wrong date, not sure if it was my error or a computer error but they worked with me for over an hour and were able to get me a booking for the night I wanted at the same hotel (which was fully booked for that night from the hotel itself. Used this site twice and both times there were problems on arrival at the hotel and booking was not as expected. Both times the hotels said it was not their problem because the booking was not made with them and would not refundcancel the booking despite and would have to seek refund from booking.com but of course we needed somewhere to stay that night. I used Booking.com to book a hotel in Costa Rica for two different nights at the same hotel on either end of our trip. On both check ins they had NO record of our reservation, and checking in was a lengthy and involved process. Got sick before my hotel stay was scheduled. When I booked, it clearly stated that any cancelation one day before arrival would not be charged any fees. Went to cancel my booking one day before my check in date and was advised that there would be a considerable fee. Called and spoke to CSR who advised me that the no fee cancelation date was actually two days before arrival. I booked to stay at the eckerlyk Inn hotel in Kortrijk in November 2015. I was not able to make the trip but my friend went and she paid for the room on check out. Departamentas para Touristas is a very clean and comfortable place to stay. Not a hostal, not a hotel, but a family business that surpasses any service from hotels costing ten times more. Booked an apartment offering free cancellation ........ have had to email and call repeatedly to get them to help me with this. The rental agency dragged their heals, told me they couldn't refund the $ to my credit card etc etc. Now trying to deal with booking.com to recoup some of my losses (bank forex rates not nearly as good as credit card ones) it turns out they don't even have a postal address so I will have to find someone with a fax machine.
