I wouldn't sell mine for the world, and i work for BMW. It's just a matter of personal taste. It's stood the test of time, its been heavily modified, it's been taken back to original spec. Let's not forget that a lot of car manufacturer's built their so called 'hot hatches' to compete with the the M ...

Mk1's look the business. I've never driven one so I can't say how it handles but they always turn heads when you see them being driven around anywhere. You don't see heads turn with Reanults and Citrons! I have A MKII and it's the most enjoyable, solid car I've ever driven. VW is the top player ...

Hello people. Joing in your talk about the hottest hatch ever. The Mk1 GTI is the orig GTI and therefore deserves respect, it is also reliable in all areas and has a good power to weight. I own a campaign myself as a second car. I bought it mainly due to its classic hatch rep. I also have a series 1 ...

What are these "max power" type people on about? Citreon have developed a hot hatch with a 16valve engine wow!!!!!!! They have also created the most boring boy racer car of all time! How can anybody even try to compare a saxo to the mark 1 golf gti. I own a mk1 and it is the best car I have ever own ...

The MK1 Golf GTi was my first car, and although i'm currently driving a Porsche, i still miss the old girl. she was the original hot hatch and should rightfully be number 1. all the rest came after, pug 205, fiesta etc.... but u can't really compare the new boys like the saxo and such to the MK1, i ...

The Mk1 Golf GTi was and is the best hot hatch about. 1.8 litres of fuel injected mayhem and good handling makes these motors spot on. Forget the heavy MK2 and MK3 golfs, they aint got nothing on these motors. As for the Astra GTE the MK1's are quick and so is the 2.0 16v, but when you consider the ...
