I own a Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk1 1.8 Cabriolet. My older brother owned a Golf convertable in its peak time, my sister owned one as well, and both never failed to impress the locals and neighbours.

I own both a Saxo VTR and a Golf 1800 GTi campaign model. I use my Saxo as the day to day car and Golf for when I need cheering up and on the weekend.

Well the Mk1 Golf is the best hot hatch and will be around for many more years to come. (I quote) The common mans porshe! However my personal taste with regards to the MK1 are not the late GTi shells but the early small tail light models, I believe last produced shell of this kind was in 82. These a ...

We should all be grateful for VW starting the hot hatch genre, however the best old school lightweight GTI's are the 205 and the williams clio.
