if u want speed, looks, and reliability, all compacted together. then this is the non tubo charged car u want, that is also good on fuel when drove sensibily, lol,. full of acceleration and speed. a real head turner. a car which puts alot of cars to shame at the lights. including expensive upto date cars. it doesnt have much room in the back. but if u havent got kids. why not treat urself hey!!! wicked pocket rockets!! worth every penny! never lose value!

The Honda CRX SiR (V-Tec) is good, upgrading this car is good for "Practice" in tuning and building, but you will eventually need to move on to somthing bigger, ie. a 1g dsm or a mk IV supra. Light, extremely good handling, good gas mileage, alot of potential along the lines of a highway racer. Absolutly not good for racing from a dig

Great little car with loads of potential and can without many larger modern engined cars. Good looks and interior. fun fun fun. Reliable little pocket rocket, good fuel economy if driven normally. Good fun to drive and very modern looking for a 18 yr old car.

I have put a 4-2-1 branch manifold on full stainless exhaust system and induction kit. Its knocking out about 200 bhp sounds and runs like a dream

I've had mine couple months. It's a project car - poor condition right now but parts are cheap so it will be nice. Love the car and shape, and acceleration on the little car it may be little but its packs a wallop. Once you get the right stuff I'm putting a invader full body kit, exhaust, headers, fuel injection, B16 motor ecu, stage 3 turbo and stage 3 short shifter clutch it should top out like 170 maybe also maybe racing chip then it'll be nice but you should get one plus I got the SI so stock is 120 also 38mpg is money saver.

I have owned many cars over the years, Hondas, also owned turbo cars, but recently I've bought a Honda CRX 1994 SIR, no mods yet but this thing moves being a high revving engine. Slap it on third gear while you're on 100km/h and you're can feel the thing pulling. In the years of experience in street racing I would say the Honda 1600 DOHC VTEC engine is the quickest you'll get in the non-turbo range cars. Best of all, it's hassle free. Here is some basic mods that is very effective in these engines with out spending too much money! All you need is a 2 N quarter pipe strait through take the cat off a bullet instead for that back pressure and another bullet muffler for the exhaust extractors would be good but then you start pushing it on $$. A after market pod filter maybe a K&N. Advance the timing and run the high octane fuel 98 will do fine. That's it for the basic mods and watch it rev out.. you'll be surprised.

I had the Mk2, not a bad car, very nippy. Handled like a loony. fast off the line.
Tried to replace it with a Mk3. This is definitely one for men who appreciate fashion.

Excellent 2 seater semi-sports car. The Honda CRX SiR is an absolutly stunning car, I have the 92 CRX Del Sol SiR, 1.6 litre DOHC V-tec and these cars can move, turn heads, impress the ladies and beat down cars with much bigger engines, handling is excellent as is top speed and acceleration. The feeling of the Vtec in full roar is amazing. I would recommend this car to anybody, I will have it for many years.

I have owned a 1991 Honda CRX SiR VTEC since 1998, and still love driving it. It is the best car I ever bought. It is perfect for cross-country motoring but nippy around town too.

I own a 91 Honda CRX SiR (V-Tec) Sports Car and its gotta be the fastest thing Ive ever driven, beating integras, audi tts and even scoobys in a straight line. Bought it stock 3 months ago, i've already fitted a full exhaust system, induction kit and superchip. Favourite thing about the car has to be the noise though when I put my foot down and get that vtec smile. You know what Im talking about.

Hehehe with a big grin - that's all I do - laugh and smile when I'm behind the wheel of my '86 import Honda CRX SiR sports car. I wish I had a VTEC though, but I read that the Jap spec was 150bhp, and it appears to weigh virtually nothing. Although a little bumpy, the handling is out of this world for the money. It does have a rather exotic clutch, described by my local garage as more of a switch - but you get used to it and learn to love it! I'm nearly six years into this one, and will be replacing it with another as soon as it eventually rusts into the ground. Well done Honda for understanding the spirit of small sports cars!

I own a Honda CRX SiR (V-Tec), and I dont know about the (SIR's) and the vtec b16a1 and all but I dropped a jdm b18c5 (type R) engine in mine! my car is so fast! It redlines at 9,000 rpms! I have about 195 whp! I wanted to run boost, but I think it is much more fun to run all motor and not lose!

The best car in the world for that money. I have had three a 16v, a UK VTEC, and an SIR.. they are all bad. but an SiR with PAS, LSD, A/C is the mac daddy. Fast, fun, and to good.. get one!

I own an 88 CRX si, and the title says 2100 lbs, but i weighed it at a weight station, when i was using its spacious rear to haul my new engin around. The car only weighs 1950 lbs
since then i have modified the car slightly and put into it my 1.8 Litre LS engine (b18b) and bought my vtec head from a b16 parts store.
i have to say whoever said the crx weight 2400 lbs really doesn't know about the rex...
I don't got it running just yet, but its soon to be a very fast car. The engine is expected to put out 190 HP and 154 lbs of torque, after im done with the LS/vtec. That seems to be the going dyno results out here in San Antonio, after the swap... just clearing up.. the crx is a bad ass, when its a hybrid.

Hello CRX fans, I own an alpine white 91' Crx SiR B16A1, and this is the best i've driven. Although it's a stock b16 jdm engine, i've wooped 5.0's, and camaro z28's like nothing. Too bad it's not smog legal in the US, so to get your hands on one of these is to consider yourself lucky. I plan to fully mod the engine, don't know if all motor or turbo is the way to go though, so if you guys know or own one that is all motor or turbo, give me some feedback, okie? IIghtz then, just to coment on the previous articles, it doesn't matter what kind of car you drive, i give total respect to all cars, shape or form, except for dumb ass people jus tryhing to pose and think their cars are fast. It all depends on how much money you put into your car, rather it be a crx or a pinto. I just bought a crx b/c they're cheap, easy to fix up (if you have the right connections), looks awesome, and plan to be the head creator of the fastest import car club in the world...till then my honda enthusiast, keeping hitting vtech, and watch those others guyz faces expression, that foo is quick... HHAHAHAHA Peace out... Sir's rule, but Skylines are the ultimate Mofo's. Email me at the addy provided for questions, or to chat about crx sir's...late

POCKET ROCKET. When these compact japanese racers (Honda CR-X SiR) They were extremely popular mini sports cars. The long sloped hatch back gave the CR-X it's unique and sporty image. My first glimpse of the CR-X was the Super charged 260hp Mugen factory model. Lowered, kitted, charged and completely decked out in full show gear, the CR-X instantlly became an obessesion. I searched all my contacts to find a Mugen tuned model but they were no available locally not to mention export. After settling for a standard import 90 SiR stil gives the perfomance from a compact car that is incomparable to similar sized models in this catorgory

What can I say... this is the ultimate of the 1.6 VTEC engines available its also ultralite, super sexy and blows away most of my mates, one of whom has 323 BMW :-) it's de-limited so no more cutting out @ 118mph I have a full greddy stainless system, jacksonracing supercharger, 18" OZ polaris alloys, it's silver and it also has the electric trans-top i'm hoping to get a VIS bodykit for it eventually but as u can imagine i've spent a fortune already and bodykits dont make my baby go faster.

This guys car is great. He doesn't need anything. I would cut off my left pinky finger to have it. If you are fortunate enough to live in a country without clean air conservative laws, a place where DOHC VTEC engines were introduced in the late eighties, you are in one special place. In america the only engines ever to see a civic hatch or crx engine bay was the ever efficient 16 valve SOHC. Did i say non-vtec, even in the USDM crx si, or, your vti. The JDM or european models of the SIR far excede the top model honda powerplant in the USDM 88-91 crx/civic si. Nearly 60 ponies more! The things I'd do for a right side drive JDM SIR!!! japanese engineers, oh god, please give america type R civics please,

Your Honda is phat but it needs a better paint job like see through. You need a hood that you can see through it would look a lot better.

Your car is nice but it is too flashy (i prefer a Clean almost stock looking car)

Boy you have a nice car. I like it alot. I have almost the same car as you the color is the same except the skirts on mine are different. I love to drag in mine. What about you. I've only lost 3 races in the past year and i race like twice a month. So i like it alot it reminds of my Honda.

I lived in Germany and have the USDM (United States Domestic Market for those far from import knowledge like M3) 91 CRX Si which came stock with 108hp. I altered the intake, custom exhaust, headers and ignition and while on the Autobahn (German Highways M3!) I very easily kept up with Bimmers to include 3 and 5 series. Yes the BMW M3 will outperform a CRX, but not without having to work for it (not to mention the owner so he can pay it off!) I have now a B16A1 (JDM Si-R engine) same as the review was written for and I noticed an outstanding change in performance. The fact that Honda's are light does not mean they can't run, my CRX before the engine swap in Germany easily made german cars pull to the right lane as I was flying by them at around 130MPH and I do believe the car had more to go although I was very close to the rev limit. I know for a fact that a 90 Ford Thunderbird will whip a Taurus SHO (but then again it is an 8 cylinder engine) which my friend kept up with no hassle to a 92 Mustang GT and my little CRX could keep up with the Thunderbird. It will beat my car stock, but all he got was about half a car lenght on an 1/8m strech. So don't hold your breath while you say you beat Honda's cause you might end up holding it for a long time as you stare at the tail lights of one

I have built several b-18 vt crx s and the fastest was a b-18 ls vetec which
i would go looking for mustangs and could play with gt new mustangs, let them go first then juststay back a door, they think they got you beat then in 3rd go on buy and wave, they swear I was shooting juice butwas not,
I have a 96 gsr with b-16 pistons which that ls had also and my present car is not as fast as the first ls, they have little more length in the rods so is higher compression I think they are 11.7 with stock b-16 pistons.
If your crx wont spin stock new tires( medium soft) 195x15 at a idle in first gear with foot off clutch just idling along it aint fast. My new car wont do that but the ls v-tec sure would. oh, I am 66 years old haha
raced scca all my life in formule fords, atlantics. 300hp in 980 lb Reynard rear engine, no wheel spin in paved road hill climbs google floyd schrammeck thanks farmerfloyd
