“AVOID CONMEN JUST WANT MONEY FOR NOTHING”

Friend booked her flight for 5 of them over the phone was told how much the flights where. Then got e-mail to say the Airline had stopped flying to ANKARA and was offered alternate flights or a refund. She took the refund and then found out that they are taking £360 off her for admin charges as the airline is not refunding all of the flight. I was quoted £580 on line for a direct flight to Thailand with Eva air, when I went to pay £588 automatically came up, I did not pay them on principal but called them instead and explained the situation after waiting 3 minutes for them to answer the call. I have had similar experience to many others....purchased tickets online, received email confirmation and then a few days later an email saying that the price of the ticket had increased, so I would either need to pay an additional £120 per ticket (so, £360) in my case or get a refund. As my trip is now only a couple days away, ticket prices have increased dramatically. When I phoned to argue that they have to honour the price quoted and release my tickets, they said they do not. Absolutely understand you. They never issue my e-ticket and now I have to rebook and pay the difference! They also wanted a 6 digit authorization code from Bank of America. Poor service...

There are bad reviews for a very good reason. Lots of people have lost significant sums of money to this excuse for a company. I appreciate you have had a good experience, as I'm sure a minority of people have had too. However, by describing to write a review to counteract or dilute the negative reviews is wrong. If your review persuades one other person to give this company a chance, rather than staying well clear, quite frankly what you have done is stupid! I never review anything on the Internet, yet I did with this company purely because I don't want anybody to go through the worry and anxiety I did. Then after waiting a month for my money book, paying a lot more for flights as a month had passed. The reviews are not a forum to let off steam! They serve a purpose to warn people!!

“Warning travel up”

I booked flights to travel to Orlando with them as they were the cheapest around by about £100. I booked on 21st March 2013. I received a confirmation email and all was fine until I got a call on 28th march 2013 from a representative of the company to tell me that unfortunately when I booked my flights at 11pm on 21st march 2013, the price had changed at midnight (1 hour after I booked) and as a result I would have to pay £350 more. “Rude and do not pay refunds.”

I had to cancel my flight because the airport I was flying into was closed and "travelup" could not fly me in a day early. I canceled my flight and was told it would take two months for the money to be available for a refund. “Pathetic admin, no tickets but £1k credit card bill”

I paid TravelUp £1000 for tickets to Phuket (from London) and received an email saying that the payment hasn't gone through. I then followed the instructions and attempted a second payment. I received confirmation of payment from SagePay and TravelUp. The next day, I received an email saying that payment hadn't gone through. I travelled to Australia with Travel up as their prices were significantly lower than other providers. Was directed to Travelup through Skyscanner for a flight I wanted to book. Travelup had the lowest price. I booked the flight through Travelup and received the E-Ticket the next day. Also just did the online check-in for the airline I booked with and it recognized my e-ticket and let me check-in. Saved a about 20 quid and it was no hassle at all. Terrible company. Take your money, confirm booking, flights then strangely not available. Try to force you to rebook similar flights at a significant premium, even offering flights that are currently "live" on their website at £100s more than advertised, with no ability to book at web prices (even though these will higher than the original price you paid anyway). Booked a ticket to travel at Xmas. Had to cancel my ticket due to a illness in my family. I was told that a refund was due with the remainder to be paid by my Insurer on provision of a cancellation invoice. 1 - Initially told it would take 2 weeks. NO! Then told it can take up to 6-8 weeks. 2 - Staff don't answer the phone, speak English or understand politeness. “RUDE. LAZY. INCOMPETENT. ”

I had a horrific time dealing with travel up. I was simply trying to alter a return flight to the day before it was booked. It took me two days to get any sort of useful information from them, all the while being told id be called back or emailed promptly.
