“I have used credit safe for a while now…”

★★★★★

written by eden.homes on 10/11/2022

I have used credit safe for a while now, and our account manager is so kind and helpful, very patient and always ready to be on hand to assist. I have dyslexia and get very anxious so to have someone reassure you and take you along each step certainly is very valuable. I would certainly recommend her to anyone.

“Creditsafe need to be shut down”

★★☆☆☆

written by RhysReynolds on 26/01/2022

I am a small business owner and was referred to Credisafe. I was told they would show your credit scores accurately and offer so many other benefits.  When I decided I didn’t want the service they billed me for an additional month and now refuse to cancel my services. Someone calls and want to argue with me about why I want to cancel my services. This company is TRASH.

“Flexible sales team paid commission on their sales”

★★☆☆☆

written by LondonMan22 on 27/07/2021

Ive been with Creditsafe for a few years. It seems each year on renewal the annual fee is completely negotiable. Day 1 they start at thousands but you will end up at a few hundred pounds. They are a pressure based online sales company offering , sometimes, inaccurate data. They will pressure you and pressure you until you agree to re-sign. My company is not doing well due to COVID and I have told them so by email twice, once before the renewal date, but I keep getting emails regarding my renewal and today, believe it or not, an email telling me my accounts suspended. Great, that's what I am trying to do. They are like those companies you see on Watchdog and also fail to know the law about pressure selling. They seem to go through staff like there is no tomorrow, call one day and speak to one member of staff and a month later you have another "account manager".

“Help!!! CreditSafe.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Vikit on 13/05/2021

Hi, maybe anyone was in similar situation and can help me. Yesterday I just wanted to check credit score one of my suppliers, and found Creditsafe via Google. To view one off report I was asked to enter my details and that I will be granted one time username and password, which I thought will be sent to me by email. But just 5 min later I received phone call from one of their staff giving me username and password so I could do my search. Then that person started explaining about their services and asked me if I would be interested to sign up for £1800 a year so she can send me email with full description of services. So I said ok and thought that it feels quite expensive for me as I only do 1-2 searches a year. So after confirming my details we hung the phone, and few hours later I received order for £3600 2 year subscription followed by invoices, instead of expected product information packs. I replied to their email straight away stating following: "Hi [name], I am really sorry, but I think I misunderstood when talking to creditsafe on the phone. I thought I was going to be sent product package for me to review and decide if it’s something I need for my company, but instead I have received order confirmation. I gave it some thoughts and decided that my company is too small and not changing clients or suppliers to often, so I believe it will be to high price for us to pay and only use your service a few times a year. So please treat this email as cancellation of any subscription or agreement (if there is any)." And also I have sent similar email to their Helpdesk. This morning I received call from them again saying that entered into agreement with them over the phone the I told them that I was interested in their services. I told her that in that case it was huge misrepresentation from their side, but if it happened I believe that I have a consumer right to cancel any service or product within period stated in T&C's. I have read their T&C's start to end, and found that there is nothing about cancellation or cooling off period at all, but I found that you entering the agreement by signing Agreement or by setting up your account and logging in. So I didn't do either. And when I told it to the person on the phone this morning, she just ignored it and said all she can do is reduce premium from £1800 to £1200 a year, but I refused and only asked to cancel whatever they set up for me without my written consent, so she ignored me again and said she can reduce premium to £400/year. I told her that all I want is confirmation that I don't have any subscription with them, on what she said she can't help me then. I believe that is ridiculous, and selling their service in such disgraceful persuasive way without giving you time to do some research on them. I have contacted Citizen advise and business line, and reporting to actionfraud police department as well. So they advise me that my solicitor send them letter stating braking of misrepresentation act 1967 and do Subject Access Request and also use ADR scheme. But from what I see, I am now entering into long process where I have to spend my time and money, trying to fight something I never signed for. I am running small business all by myself which requires huge time investment where you actually sacrificing all your quality family time. And now this company is taking my time from me and it makes me so frustrated. Is there no any other simpler way or no low to protect us as consumers?

“Product is useless and customer services is very poor”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AlanPandey on 13/06/2018

They treated me very badly, first they made me an impression that they excellent product to cater my need, later found its no way neat that. Asked me to sign a contract before I see the product and later instruct legal to chase the contract value for the money without using any of their service. Had to pay all their invoice for nothing.

“Credit ratings are rubbish”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Calluml156 on 28/09/2017

While all other credit rate are credit very good credit and describe us as very low risk ,credit safe advise their users not to give any credit on our company. When suppliers tell us they use credit safe I advise them to pay a bit more and go to a proper credit rating agency. We have been in business for over forty years and feel that this is the worst product we have ever seen.

“A CASE OF BUYER BEWARE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Corbettto435 on 30/07/2017

As a cash only business I believe that we were really misold this product. The sales stratedgy was more than intense, to the point where not having the capacity to be down right rude I agreed to the whole thing just to escape the pressure of the sales mantra. We will obviously have to pay for the service for the year but over the months have not accessed it. Indeed I wouldn't know how as no instructions have landed on my desk despite several people phoning and my colleagues have had no use for this service either. This is obviously a company whose sales are driven by commission based or incentivised targets. My story involved the operator just needing the one sale for tickets to Disney land. What did surprise me on reflection is how or indeey why we were contacted when ALL our details are registered with the telephone preference service!! Maybe this dosent apply to Disneyland and the likes of Mickey and Miney. However on a more serious note I do feel the sales and direct selling approach was far to intense and overbearing, certainly not what I would want from my own staff. I did mention it to the company via email and indeed just received a call from their representitive who in all honesty was just interested in when the invoice would be settled. So for me its a lesson learnt and sadly I have come to the conclusion its probably just best to put down the receiver than try and do a polite 'no thank you'

“Liars At Best”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Caseyk143 on 04/07/2017

Having provided us with data which was inaccurate and useless, they agreed to refund the money we had given them in advance. Two months later and we are still waiting for the money. They have consistently lied to us, told us staff were not available to process the transaction and have done everything they can to avoid giving us our money back. Their data is not very good, and their data sourcing system is unable to differentiate between sectors in the market so data available is not targetted. I would suggest that you never do business with this company

“Reports based on ignorance”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/04/2017

We are a reputable company of over 34 years standing. We received a bad credit rating through creditsafe, which I queried to find that the information they had based the report on was completely untrue. I cannot imagine where on earth they get there information from. But I would never use them if I had to know about a company's repute.

“Are their methods safe ?”

★★☆☆☆

written by DanielWells264 on 18/03/2017

The salesman wanted me to log onto their website then access a sample trial using their password etc. In this age of cyber crime I refused as you never know if you will unwittingly give them access to your systems. I actually told him this but he kept insisting they were a very large/reputable company but anyone can say that and I did not know of them so I refused to login.

“Creditsafe marketing data”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Andrea386 on 11/08/2016

As a purchaser of marketing data Creditsafe offered me a good deal and then kept cutting price to a point where it seemed a no brainer to buy. However on testing a small sample it was utter nonsense. 80% of the list were hugely off target. ie multinational's on a selection of UK based SME's with no more than £1 million turnover! It is the worst quality list I have ever seen. I have refused to pay the invoice on the basis that it is not fit for purpose and have heard nothing back! Suggests I am not the first to complain.

“Inaccurate reporting”

★☆☆☆☆

written by tchadwick on 26/04/2016

The carrier sent us the actual Credit Safe report on our company and basically none of the information is accurate or up to date. If you run a report on our company form a Cortera, Ansonia or Truckstop it will look nothing like the misinformation Credit Safe provides. I would not trust them as a reputable credit source.

Creditsafe's Response to tchadwick's Review

Written on: 05/07/2016

Dear tchandwick:

Due to the nature of the industry in which Creditsafe operates, there will inevitably be occasions where there is a divergence of opinion between the operators of the companies rated regarding the health of their enterprise and the companies that rate them. Ratings and suggested credit limits, as with all providers of these business intelligence solutions, are indicative guides based on the available information. They are designed to help companies make informed business decisions.

We believe we have one of the most accurate algorithms in the marketplace. It incorporates data from respected sources such as Companies House and other reputable bodies, with millions of trade payment experiences, which feed into the overall algorithm to establish a business’ financial health and propensity to enter insolvency in the next 12 months.

Trade data experiences are sourced from suppliers’ ledger systems and feed into the system directly from a client’s accounting software. The data is processed utilising comparable security links to those employed by the banking industry. Payment experience data is only integrated as a variable into the ratings algorithm when multiple payment experiences are available. This ensures there is no opportunity for an enterprise to manipulate, or ‘game’, the system to negatively impact any other company’s rating.

Kind regards,

Creditsafe

“RUDE RUDE RUDE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Lamont425 on 31/03/2016

Guy calls my business asking for credit manager. I replied that they are not in. He then says "I find that hard to believe that they are not in, are they on vacation or something because that's hard to believe that on a Thursday afternoon on the 31st of march that they are not in". I then say they are currently at our other location, he then says I don't believe you and hung up. Who talks like that. I have never heard of this company before, but if that guy is supposed to be soliciting for business, they are in serious trouble. I called back the number to complain but the lady just said she would look into it- That is hard for ME to BELIEVE!

“Sales Call Was a JOKE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Catherine28 on 28/10/2015

I received a call from Credit Safe this afternoon and when I began asking questions just to be certain I knew what she was talking about the girl got frustrated and accused me of being rude then just hung up. I was not being rude but trying to get her to tell me why she was calling since she was all over the place trying to get around me. Glad she hung up on me because after reading their reviews the company sounds like nothing but a joke. By the way I called back to see who it was that even called me since she didn't identify herself in the beginning. A little updated training could go a long way for this place or not. Blocked their number so they do not waste anymore of my time. She must have thought she was just talking to the operator but I am a 20 year employee and the manager. All our new customers pay at least 1/2 down if not 100% and if there is a balance it is paid before their order is shipped. That eliminated any unwanted customers right away.

“Total Nonsense”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Gavyni22 on 21/10/2015

We decided to use creditsafe to check prospective clients and for the price it seemed a reasonable proposition, however, after seeing our own credit rating tumble due to totally irrelevant factors it soon became apparent that the information that they use is based on nonsense. We are a new but stable and profitable business and even invited creditsafe to have unrestricted access to our financial affairs but they declined and said that they are 'Confident that their assessment of our company is accurate'. Creditsafe should be held to account for potentially ruining new business and discouraging economic growth in the UK. Our credit rating with real credit rating companies, incidentally, is very good. Appalling company.

I have been a Creditsafe customer for years and find them a damn side better than D&B who charge silly money for the same information!

Creditsafe are a primary provider and they hold their own info the same as both D&B & Experian b.t.w.

Everyone to their own but I find Creditsafe fantastic.

Actually that is not strictly true. They do use Experian as a part of the algorithm that they use but not exclusively. Since I wrote this review we have moved to Experian and they show that our credit rating is above average. The part of the system that they write in-house is where the nonsense factor 'comes to life'. It is also where they 'justify' themselves as an alternative to the usual companies.

We used to use a more expensive supplier of credit information and thought we would try Creditsafe as they did persist in getting us to change. Since we made the move our bad debts have significantly increased and we have resorted back to our old supplier as Creditsafes information is not fit for purpose.

“leave well alone”

written by on 26/08/2015

We were talked into using credit safe with an offer of a substantial discount then an added bonus of 15 months for 12. there main selling point was that they have a unique director tracing and checking facility.when we tried this out using information we new to be correct credit safe did not have any of this information on there records even giving one company a glowing record even though its main director had been involved with a string of failed companies. the director search could not find him either by name or address, total waste of time and money.they then rated my own company as very high risk with a cash only rating. when we queried this they said it was because we had not filed our accounts, on checking on our insistence they agreed that they had made a mistake and apologised but said it could take a few days to rectify the matter, causing us major problems with some of our suppliers.after this and several other bad experience's we tried to cancel which they refused saying because we had used the system we could not. under no circumstances use this company
