“Evans online orders”

I ordered a bike carrier late April. I was sent the wrong (used) carrier. I returned the item and a replacement was ordered. The second carrier to arrive was half complete. I again returned the carrier. A third carrier was ordered and sent out of the warehouse on the 11/06/2011 as yet still to arrive. “Appauling service. My 5 year old nephew knows more...”

I was unfortunate in that another cyclist hit me at a set of lights and broke the mech hanger for my Lemond Versailles Road bike. The bike was purchased from Evans so despite having received lousy service from them before I bit my lip and went to them for the part and to check the bike over for other damage. “Fantastic when everything goes right, rubbish when...”

I saw Evans had a bad review, but really, they are alright. When they have things in stock, their usually with me in a couple of days, and i couldnt ask for more. Its vital, with Evans, that you shop around and use their price check service. I was wise, and took full advantage of one of their deals on their fb page, which gave (for one day only) a £10 gift card for every £5 order. Hi. I recently took my two boys bikes in for their free first service (a GT Avalanche 3.0 and Specialised Hotrock 24). The shop is at York, approximately 20 miles away and I delivered them on Monday evening (thanks for late opening hours). Hi I saw a bike on the web site 5 May 2011, i called my local store in Leeds and they took a £50 deposit for the bike. They told me it was the last bike in the UK and was in the Wandsworth store they would call and reserve it. I went to the store with my husband to get advice on a bike & very quickly got recommended the Pashley. I do love it but we both felt that the sales person was quick to sell me the most expensive bike of that type. I arranged to collect the bike but when I arrived (late) I was told it was built but not tested as it had been wrongly booked in for a week later & 'they were doing me a favour' fitting it in-when I finally collected it was 2.5 hours after the arranged time making me very late… Read Full Review

“8 May - Bike ordered and paid for. ”

8 May - Bike ordered and paid for.
9 May - Bike assembled (apparently).
20 May - No sign of bike and no communication from Evans - getting worried.

So, I called the after sales line but could only get through to a monosyllabic moron, "What you want?".

I explained and after about 10mins on the phone he came back, "Not sent yet".

When I asked what should be done all he could come up with was,
"I'll e-mail you".

I decided to use Evans online service as the style of bike I wanted is not readily available in the netherlands, and are overpriced where they are available.
I will give credit where it is due, the bike was delivered, and it was the correct bike that arrived. That is where my satisfaction ends.

The bike is obviously a previously returned item as there are scratches to the paintwork - this itself is not an issue as it was a sale item and they really aren't that bad.

I have left my byke in the Evans, to repair the tyre,and told to come next day, anyway, it's ok..but the big problem when was...only cycling for a few meters, the bicycle tire deflated...and when I came back to Evans shop, was closed!! Anyway I m very disappointed with Evans, is a expansive shop,nice Quality ,but the service was a big mistake.

My first purchase from Evans Cycles and I visited Leeds Central store. The service was patient and polite. It took a long time to choose shoes as trial and error and long trips to the stockroom showed that my first choice was not in stock and we had to go through numerous other (more expensive) options. Can you give someone 0 star? I ordered a front mountain bike wheel on express delivery so that I could ride my bike at the weekend with my friends, and Evans shipped me a rear wheel for a road bike. Not sure why a bike shop can't tell the difference between a front and rear wheel and why they can't tell the difference between a MTB wheel and a road wheel. I have had the worst experience ever at the London bridge store. I certainly won't be recommending you to anyone. It has taken more than 6 return visits and an email to customer services to have my bike in perfect condition. Without any compensation for my time. I am extremely disappointed in the general attitude of staff, communication and of your customer relations team.

Test road a Scott Aspect and brought it. Friends were unable to buy the bike they wanted as Evans are in a different 'ride to work' scheme. Will vist stroe again as really really helpful. I was extremely happy with the service I received from the west end Mortimer street store. I have been in the store before and always had a satisfactory experience. Today I was overwhelmed at the length a staff member went to to help me. Having not been able to get a bike I wanted in stock I was recommend another one. Bike was marked as 'in stock' on the website. But after payment had been taken and a wait of nearly 3 weeks, there was no news. Phoned 4 times and got told each time someone would look into it and get back to me. No one ever phoned back. Emails went unanswered. Staff were rude and absolutely clueless as to where the bike was and how long it would take for delivery. In the end I cancelled the order. I ordered my bike in mid March and after being informed that it was in the Brisol shop visited on the 27/3/11 to look at it. I liked it and as I wanted it delivered and the accessories fitting, arrangements were made for this to happen. I was notified by phone on the following Wednesday that it was ready to be delivered. “Bought New Specialized Rockhopper. BACK brake squealed...”

Bought New Specialized Rockhopper. BACK brake squealed like a banshee. Called store, advised it will be looked at on FOC service. They called me to say it was all done and had adjusted FRONT brake! Went back in workshop they said it needs new pads, no luck. Then changed the disc, still not ready as they had sheared a bolt.
