Absolute shambles at Evans store in Kingston on a Sunday with jobsworth manager who seems to spend more time having power trips on his junior child staff than checking stuff is sold on time/correctly. Any one who is looking to purchase a road bike from Evans Cycles, please take on board my experience and I'm sure after this you'll seriously reconsider.
Bought a Scott CR1 (Team) from them last year the frame broke after just 5 months of usage, I have had nothing but problems trying to get them to resolve the issue, I thought by buying off a big chain this would provide a good sense of security if anything went awry, how wrong I was! Was looking for a new bike for the Summer - Ordered the new Mx5 from Evans three weeks ago, payment was taken from my card instantly!
The bike was dude to be in the store 2 days after I ordered it. I decided to phone up the day after it was dude to arrive in the store to see if I could get a delivery date - They told me it hadn't arrived, which was fine - They said it should arrive at the start of the week and that they would contact me.

Ordered bike on 10 March with 5-7 days in stock. After 2 weeks told 5-7 does not mean 5-7 days but means 9 days which I said was also rubbish because it was now 2 weeks and still no bike. I have been given 4 different dates for delivery and still no bike, was even told bike in stock and would be sent out and I would receive it yesterday. I really don't know where to start on this. After taking me more than a month to set up our company's cycle to work scheme and numerous phone conversations where I could never get hold of the right person and they never bother to call me back. I ordered a road bike that was out of stock and told it could be up to two weeks. Two weeks later, having heard nothing I contacted them only to be told the delivery dates had changed and would be another two weeks. When I contacted Customer services I was told, speak to the store, not us.

Evans has a new ordering and stock control system. Their staff don't seem to understand it and it doesnt work. I didnt receive the things I ordered in spite of paying extra for a Saturday delivery and phoning to double check on Friday that my order would be despatched. Result of this cock-up, a day wasted waiting for an order that never arrived and a cancelled cycling holiday as I didn't have the things I needed. The sent me a bike with a Tiagra rear derailleur, when it should be a 105. When I went back to the store, the sales woman told me that was the bike that came on the box and there was nothing she could do. I insisted and she said it could be a misespecification at the website. I showed her at Fuji's website that the bike should come with a 105. Service from Evans really depends on the store that you go to. I first went to the store in Kingston Upon Thames and although the staff were helpful, the bike I ordered wasn't up to scratch (bike issue not Evans). Trying to sort out an alternative was difficult - they never answered their phone and nor did I get a call back from the manager despite leaving countless messages in store and on phone (the few times someone picked up).

I ordered a bike from the site which turned out to be out of stock. Replacement arrived late and I missed a weekend away as a result. When bike finally arrived it was misassembled and the sales staff were rude and uninterested. i had used the cycle for 1 season when it developed a flaw in the paint
finish they tried to fix with cange of colour that did not suit me .

What can I say, absolutely disgusted with the service. I have had my mountain bike booked in for a service for 2 weeks and was told by one of the Milton Keynes Evans bike shop staff to just drop it in on my way to work. I said that I started at 9am.
