“London West End - Great Save after Big Mistake...”

I bought a bike and paid in full on the Sunday, arranging to pick it up on the Tuesday evening once it had been built, before I headed back to Edinburgh the next day. Due to an error it wasn't ready when I arrived just before closing at 7:30 - in fact they hadn't even started the build - but the guys immediately started work on it, even staying back after closing to get the bike built so I could take it with me. “Beyond brilliant”

Attended National Cycling centre shop at 7:40pm at night after ringing them re play in my front wheel. "Bring it over, I'm sure someone will look at it for you". “Gold Service”

The boys at Braehead Glasgow offer a first class service, in relation to advice and to cycle service. My cycle, a Dawes Galaxy was booked in for a gold service, I received a call telling my bike did not need the gold service, as it was in very good condition. All that was required was a new chain and rear cassette and the brakes serviced, therefore a silver service was all that was required, plus the above parts, meaning I was charged no more than a gold service basic cost. “Evens Evens Evens! what are you doing!”

I like Evans because when buying online, you can return to a store for a refund or exchange. But they do take an eternity to despatch and deliver. They say on the website delivered within 3-5 days, but my last 4-5 orders from them have taken at least 9 working days, usualy at least 4-5 days to even despatch the order. And my last order has been lost, in the proccess of trying to get a new one sent out. (not sure who is at fault Evans or royal mail, but i have my suppositions!)… Read Full Review

“Keep on spamming me after bike purchase”

I bought a bike from them. I had to give my email so as to receive details of when the bike arrived. However I never agreed to receive any marketing emails. Since the purchase I have received non=stop spam, and however many times I have tried to unsubscribe - they keep on sending me further emails...."Summer holiday time! I bought a Bianchi Impulso 105 from the Lakeside store on the 7th July and found the service absolutely fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble, Jem was knowledgeable, helpful and made me feel that my custom was appreciated. “Bad communication”

I have ordered some stuff online at Evans, while they were extremely quick to make the purchase status "Successful", they took like 5 days before sending me an email stating that the items were dispatched, and this only happened after I emailed them regarding my purchase. On the 11th of July 2012, I purchased a cycle and accessories from this bunch of jokers. When I read that they offered next day day delivery, I paid an extra £19.99 for that service. “Shoddy service and communication”

I ordered my bike from Evans as they promised it would arrive in time for a bike ride that was coming up. When I called the store to check the order was on track, I was told the bike would be four days later than promised. Fair enough, they offered me a more expensive bike in its place that did arrive in time (only after I'd given them an earful though), but after about half an hour's riding the brakes started rubbing against the front wheel and the gears started rattling. “Empty box”

I ordered two bike lights from Evans. The website is great. Ordering and payment was easy. When my package arrived I opened it to find one back light and one empty box for a front light. The best bit is that the box's front is cut away so that you can see there is no light in it! There is a little red arrow saying "try me" and sadly pointing to the empty space where the light should be. “Single worst order/delivery service ever encountered”

Totally dreadful delivery service and follow up customer service was beyond amateur. They offer a Saturday slot. But use a company that is not contactable on Weekends. Delivery failed to appear on a Saturday. Then they attempted to deliver during the week when it couldn't be accepted - obviously. The kicker: any follow up with Evans was met with crass, arrogant responses from their team. Seriously unprofessional approach to a complaint with jokes and sacrastic remarks. “Trouble-free and prompt”

The items which I've ordered come quickly, with no hassle, and prices are reasonable (usually lower than the local bike shop). Also delivery is free. This, combined with the large choice of items in stock, makes it attractive for even small items. An additional advantage is that there is an Evans Cycles store about 45 minutes ride away, so I can often get some idea of an item before I buy it - in cases where I'm unclear about exact dimensions, say.
