Looked online for a pair of base layers (HH). Found the website very helpful as the reviews can most of the times lead you in the right direction when you're uncertain on which item to get.
Delivery was prompt, no issues there. The problem was, whoever packed it, completely forgot to take the security tags on!!...needless to say no matter how urgently I needed to use them I couldn't. Ended up losing some of my precious weekend time (which was the whole purpose of buying online) and went to the… Read Full Review

Spent a good few months looking about for a new Hardtail bike, kept coming back to Evans. Great website with detailed specs on each item and customer reviews to help. Bought the bike online [Fuji Tahoe 2010] which was on a superb discount and found I was able to use Paypal [great news]. Living on a Scottish island I'm used to the so called 'free' delivery being declined....but here I was pleasantly surprised to find it was still free. So, job done I settled back to wait for a delivery in around… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

Purchased a Womens Specialized Tactic Helmet in the Reading store yesterday (2nd April 2011). After a little debate on my sizing, I settled on a medium helmet. The assistant at first brought the wrong helmet out and then realised and brought out the correct helment. He took it to the till for me to pay with my other goods as I was still browsing. I waiting in the queue for over 15 minutes as their till systems were playing up. Eventually I paid and got the helmet home....only to realise after… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

The price and pre-sales service were very good but the whole experience of buying a new bike was ruined when I got home and found the front wheel flat with a puncture in my boot. This isn't a major problem but it leaves a sour taste when I know the shop knew about it before I handed the money over: they were inflating the wheel when I arrived and gave me some twaddle about it needing extra air. If they'd just acknowledged the problem and offered me a spare tube that would have been fine but I… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

ordering from evans cycles and expecting them to get an order of 2 wheelsets right and on time was one of the most time consuming a biggest buying mistakes of my life. Apparently when ordering a carbon shimano dura ace wheelset, they think it is a good idea (or a cheeaper alternative to them) to ship an overseas customer a shimano deore mountain bike wheel instead. Not only this but since i was overseas cost 300 to ship it back. Now I am out 300. End of story right? wrong. They then recieved it… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

Still awaiting delivery of an item ordered 15 days ago marked as in stock. Various emails have been exchanged, some telling me that item is out of stock and others telling me that they are awaiting item being returned to the warehouse from one of their shops. Just received another email today stating this is what has happened but that it takes up to 14 days for it to be returned and 3 to 5 days for delivery. Well since I ordered this 15 days ago you would think that it would be at the warehouse… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

Communication not perfect (as in when what is going to happen with purchased item etc) although very quick reply upon any of my questions. Overall, for the price I have paid for my bike, absolute great stuff and can't have it all, eg perfect service and cheapest on the planet..... Thanks for all, great bike great business… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I will also write an email once I speak to manager of Fulham shop. I called Fulham shop at 1000 am on Sunday and made an appointment to deliver my bike and have it serviced. I was informed that there is no repair service on Sunday and that service would be carried out on Monday. I delivered the bike at around 1700 on Sunday. When I was going to sign the repair order I noticed that there is a £30 charge if bike not collected on correct date. I asked if it… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I visited the West End store today to buy two Brooks trouser straps and a Brooks tool bag. I was pleased to see the first trouser strap box was marked £10.99 so I bought two and the tool bag which was £54.99. I was charged£84.97. I didn't check the bill as I was in a hurry until I got home. When I got home the receipt showed that I had been charged the correct price for the tool bag but £14.99 each for the trouser straps. When I checked the boxes one was marked up £10.99 the other was marked up… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I popped in to Evans Cycles Spitalfields yesterday to buy a bike. I was deciding between a 2010 Pinnacle (on special) and a 2011 Specialized. They're pretty comparable bikes but the sales assistant was great at explaining the differences in spec. I finally decided on the much cheaper Pinnacle. The sales assistant then helped me select everything else I wanted - lock, mudguards, pannier rack etc.
The bike was checked over and the accessories fitted while I waited, and I cycled home 20 mins… Read Full Review

After reading the reviews on this site I was very nervous. I placed my order on Tuesday, received a phone call Thursday evening advising delivery on Friday. The bike arrived Friday afternoon undamaged. On inspection the bike was spotless and had been set up correctly. I was impressed with the included purpose built tools and adjustment instructions.
Overall it was a very smooth purchase with no problems.
Will definately use Evans again… Read Full Review

A bad experience; firstly i am friendly and not picky in any way. I purchased the Crosstrail and was overall happy with it, expecting to replace the seat no problem. The free service, I was told at the time of purchase; they were busy and to have it done a lot later. Ok! I said, no problem. I haven't used it much anyway. So I thought the first service would be easy. Bad news!!
I rang up and asked for the appointment, yes, bring it it this morning, ok!
I brought it in I gave two telephone numbers… Read Full Review

I purchased my bike from Evans for £600, so when I got a flat tyre i took the opportunity to get a service as well. I was told one price when I dropped the bike in - £39 (£10 cheaper than normal price as single speed bike). After I got my bike back I was charged £49. Then I had a flat tyre as soon as I got back on my bike. So on returning back to the store they said they would fix it, which I assumed was for free as they should have fixed it the first time. But when I returned they charged me… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I wanted some tyres which only a few retailers seem to stock. I thought Evans would offer good customer service (being a large company).
Firstly I tried to price match with another site, my price match request was rejected as the price of the tyre with postage on the competitors site was the same as theirs. That would be fine if I was equipping a unicycle with a tyre, but most bikes have at least two wheels (three on a trike).
I replied that I wanted two tyres and buying two at the competitor… Read Full Review

Let me share a letter I wrote to Evans complaing of service, this says it all!
I think you should know about the very bad experience I have had yesterday when purchasing a Trek FX E+ from your branch at Lakeside, Thurrock. This is a bike that you insist is collected from the branch and is not available for home delivery.
I ordered this bike about 2 weeks ago utilising the Ride to Work scheme. I received a call from the branch on Wednesday 2nd February to say they had it in stock. I explained… Read Full Review

Good morning, I feel I must let you know how happy I am with the service I recieved at your York Branch. The young lad that helped me when chosing my accessories for my new Specialized Secteur (2010), Tom I think his name was, could not have been more helpful. Really pleasant and very informative. The Store Manager, Ian, was also very occomodating, ensuring that I had the necessary equipment to enjoy my new purchase. As for the bike, WOW! I was a little aprehensive to say the least of buying a… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I took my bike to Evans Cycles for a special offer 'Winter Chain clean' at £10. They told me I needed serious work, a new chain, a new cassette, complete overhaul of chainset and gears and a stage 1 service altogether about £170. I took my, not yet 2 year old bike, elsewhere and they said there was nothing wrong with the chain, the chainset, the cassette or gears. I got a full service (about £110 with Evans)and 2 new brake pads for £65. Absolutely disgusted with Evans and will never go there… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

Evans are without doubt the worst sort of low life company it has ever been my misfortune to deal with. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org if you want full details. PLEASE dont use them. I bought a Bianchi bike for $3500 in November. I emailed a week later for the status and was sent a despatch note. 4 weeks later no bike so I called to be told that it was out of stock! They took my money ok and never bothered to tell me that they had stuffed up until I chased them. we fought for two months and… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com
