My son wanted a Diamondback Joker BMX bike in white. Evans had a decent price and as their warehouse is just down the road, ordered the bike on the final day of a 10% discount for BMX. I rang them first thing the following day expecting to be able to collect the bike direct from their warehouse, which was advertised as being open 9-5 for the Bank Holiday.

I had an initial problem in that the folding bike I ordered online turned out to be discontinued, which was annoying as it had been clearly advertised as being available. Subsequently I had two further attempts to purchase an alternative folding bike but in both cases the mechanic at Evans Birmingham determined the bikes to be faulty. My first and last attempt to buy online from Evans cycles.

On 6th of April I sent an order through Evans cycles site, a Maxxis tyre for my bike to Portugal.
It was immediately payed trough Paypal and I received the order confirmation from Evans cycles.
As orders from UK are often very quickly dispatched I was worried after two weeks of waiting and nothing happened.
When trying to logon later to Evans site my user did not exist!! Have to repeat another registry with the same e-mail!! I guess… Read Full Review

I just had my bike serviced at Evans in Leeds. I thought I'd give it a try, as I usually go to Edinburgh Cycles, which a little expensive. I unfortunately was disappointed. Firstly I had a new chain and rear cogs fitted, but then found that my gears weren't set correctly. Therefore I took it back to get readjusted, to find out that the gears still weren't set correctly and when my bike was handed back to me it had a puncture, which wasn't there when I dropped it off. The bike and accessoires (carbon mtb, bottle, cage and saddle bag) were delivered within the advertised times, however the bike had a few scratches on fork and frame.
After emailing pictures, Evans offered gift vouchers if I were willing to keep the bike since (quote) "they (scratches) aren't something that will affect the working of the bike, it's more cosmetic marks".

I decided to return the bike and received a full refund.

This will mean that purchasing from alternative outlets will become much more attractive.

Warranty issues with bike was dealt with quickly and professionally. Was very impressed with the Kingston in store staff. They could not have done anymore to get the issue sorted and re-built the bike to a high standard with the replacement frame.

I bought a second bike from Evans Cycles when my former bike broke. It's a few months on and the new bike has a click to the bottom bracket. Thinking the bike was due for a "6 to 8" weeks service, I took the bike in.

Looked online for a pair of base layers (HH). Found the website very helpful as the reviews can most of the times lead you in the right direction when you're uncertain on which item to get.
Delivery was prompt, no issues there. The problem was, whoever packed it, completely forgot to take the security tags on!!...needless to say no matter how urgently I needed to use them I couldn't. Spent a good few months looking about for a new Hardtail bike, kept coming back to Evans. Great website with detailed specs on each item and customer reviews to help. Bought the bike online [Fuji Tahoe 2010] which was on a superb discount and found I was able to use Paypal [great news]. Living on a Scottish island I'm used to the so called 'free' delivery being declined....but here I was pleasantly surprised to find it was still free. The price and pre-sales service were very good but the whole experience of buying a new bike was ruined when I got home and found the front wheel flat with a puncture in my boot. This isn't a major problem but it leaves a sour taste when I know the shop knew about it before I handed the money over: they were inflating the wheel when I arrived and gave me some twaddle about it needing extra air. ordering from evans cycles and expecting them to get an order of 2 wheelsets right and on time was one of the most time consuming a biggest buying mistakes of my life. Apparently when ordering a carbon shimano dura ace wheelset, they think it is a good idea (or a cheeaper alternative to them) to ship an overseas customer a shimano deore mountain bike wheel instead. Various emails have been exchanged, some telling me that item is out of stock and others telling me that they are awaiting item being returned to the warehouse from one of their shops. Just received another email today stating this is what has happened but that it takes up to 14 days for it to be returned and 3 to 5 days for delivery.
