Having bought many things online in the last 10 years I have grown to expect a certain level of service and communication from the seller that reassures the buyer that everything is ok and your items, expensive or not will be delivered according to plan, this very consideration that many retailers see as the key to return custom is completely missing from Evanscycles online operation. I had no idea when my item was going to be delivered, in fact I was kept out of the loop, my bike was… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

Visited the Gatwick showroom attached to the distribution warehouse after printing off a 90th birthday discount voucher for 15% off closthing and accessories. The store allows any item in stock at the warehouse to be collected, you just fill in the form and 5 mins later it appears. That is the theory. The collection counter is staffed by a bunch of teens who spend more time laughing and joking with each other than serving customers. Despite 4 staff standing there and only 1 serving, I was… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

really concerned having read these reviews as to what is happening with my bike. I sent an email query after five days as hadn't heard anything and got a standard email back saying delivery is 5-7 days after placing your order. Well no actually it isn't it's now 9 working days after. I emailed again at seven and got no reply called this morning as I received the accessories but no bike. Why bother? The bloke I spoke to queried whether it had been in stock when I ordered it. Yes it was otherwise… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

For more than one occasion I had to get a puncture in the rear tire done in London Victoria's shop. Both times, after the service, the nut on my rear tire wasn't tighten properly. This means the the actual tire changed position while I was cycling. The first time I tighten it myself, I wasn't really happy but didn't think about it too much. The second time the bike actually stopped in the middle of the road and a truck drove a foot far from me. I tried to tighten the nut but I couldn't because… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

We had occasion to visit the store three or four times in one week, at various times of the day and at times when the store was incredibly busy. In particular, Julius was an immense help in selecting and advising two complete beginners about which bike to buy. It was no trouble for us to try various models, ensuring that each bike we tried was set up according to our needs. His knowledge and experience was very useful, making us consider things that we had not thought of. Whilst we primarily… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I ordered my new MTB (Specialized Hardrock Disc 2011) through the Evans store in Nottingham, excellent service (Robert W) very thorough and friendly. Then the problems began, I had ordered my bike to be delivered home as I live quite a way from the store. After being promised both verbally and through Evans' literature that I would be kept up-to-date throughout the entire process and the delivery of my new bike, I heard nothing for over a week. (Advertise a 5-7 day delivery time!!) I then rang… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

purchased a set of Sram A27 wheels which developed a fault after 4 weeks, a grating, grinding hub in front wheel, rode bike to shop, told by assistant did not have part in,so went back 3 days later, told new part had been put in, cycling back home the grating, grinding started again, got home checked hub and the feeling of it catching and rubbing was exactly the same as when I took it to the shop. complained over the phone, and on line but have had no reply from evans at all. told them for what… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I've bought my bike from Evans, which was fine, and have also been in for a couple of other things without problems. Yesterday, I asked to have one of the inner tubes replaces and also wanted to buy some brake pads to replace myself. A few hours later I picked up the bike with new brake pads and no new tube. Assistant says the receipt says the service was for a tyre, so not their fault. Fair enough, but I wouldn't have bought the brake pads if I was asking for them to be replaced by the shop… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

Although I purchased mail order, I visited the Bristol store to explain the problem, and only took the computer itself , having left the fittings on the bike.I was served by Oliver who was incredibly helpful despite the unorthodox approach by me ,and hitting some gremlins re the original Order. At one stage he had to get authority from the Manager and both were most willing to assist. My wife and I frequently use Evans mail order as we live over 100 miles from the nearest store and always… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I ordered a bike carrier late April. I was sent the wrong (used) carrier. I returned the item and a replacement was ordered. The second carrier to arrive was half complete. I again returned the carrier. A third carrier was ordered and sent out of the warehouse on the 11/06/2011 as yet still to arrive. I would think twice about ordering from Evans in the future… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I was unfortunate in that another cyclist hit me at a set of lights and broke the mech hanger for my Lemond Versailles Road bike. The bike was purchased from Evans so despite having received lousy service from them before I bit my lip and went to them for the part and to check the bike over for other damage. Firstly I was told that Lemonds were discontinued bikes (I knew this) and therefore it was unlikely that it would be possible to get the hanger rendering my 2009 carbon fibre bike a write… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I saw Evans had a bad review, but really, they are alright. When they have things in stock, their usually with me in a couple of days, and i couldnt ask for more. Its vital, with Evans, that you shop around and use their price check service. I was wise, and took full advantage of one of their deals on their fb page, which gave (for one day only) a £10 gift card for every £5 order. This looks crazy, but yes, they were stupid enough to do it, and i was clever enough to put in 4 different… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

Hi. I recently took my two boys bikes in for their free first service (a GT Avalanche 3.0 and Specialised Hotrock 24). The shop is at York, approximately 20 miles away and I delivered them on Monday evening (thanks for late opening hours). I got a call the next day to say they were ready but when I picked them up that evening I noticed that very little, if anything, had been done. As it was late I went straight home and checked the bikes and found the following faults; the tyres are still… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

Hi I saw a bike on the web site 5 May 2011, i called my local store in Leeds and they took a £50 deposit for the bike. They told me it was the last bike in the UK and was in the Wandsworth store they would call and reserve it. I waited for a day to be contacted but no i had to call them, i was told the bike was taken off sale and placed in the back of the shop waiting for shipping, i thought a phone call would take a matter of minutes but they took a day. I received an email with an order… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

I went to the store with my husband to get advice on a bike & very quickly got recommended the Pashley. I do love it but we both felt that the sales person was quick to sell me the most expensive bike of that type. I arranged to collect the bike but when I arrived (late) I was told it was built but not tested as it had been wrongly booked in for a week later & 'they were doing me a favour' fitting it in-when I finally collected it was 2.5 hours after the arranged time making me very late… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com

8 May - Bike ordered and paid for.
9 May - Bike assembled (apparently).
20 May - No sign of bike and no communication from Evans - getting worried.
So, I called the after sales line but could only get through to a monosyllabic moron, "What you want?".
I explained and after about 10mins on the phone he came back, "Not sent yet".
When I asked what should be done all he could come up with was,
"I'll e-mail you".
Evans promise 5-7 working days for delivery to your door. I've been waiting 10… Read Full Review

I decided to use Evans online service as the style of bike I wanted is not readily available in the netherlands, and are overpriced where they are available.
I will give credit where it is due, the bike was delivered, and it was the correct bike that arrived. That is where my satisfaction ends.
The bike is obviously a previously returned item as there are scratches to the paintwork - this itself is not an issue as it was a sale item and they really aren't that bad.
However, at some point, the… Read Full Review

I have left my byke in the Evans, to repair the tyre, and told to come next day, anyway, it's ok..but the big problem when was...only cycling for a few meters, the bicycle tire deflated...and when I came back to Evans shop, was closed!! Anyway I m very disappointed with Evans, is a expansive shop, nice Quality ,but the service was a big mistake.
The big problem too, was...another day in morning, I had to use public transport, and I really busy to came back there!!I work to hard, and is a… Read Full Review

My first purchase from Evans Cycles and I visited Leeds Central store. The service was patient and polite. It took a long time to choose shoes as trial and error and long trips to the stockroom showed that my first choice was not in stock and we had to go through numerous other (more expensive) options. Having chosen the cheapest clipless pedals as this was my first try out, it was not until the journey home that I realised that a different pedal (at £25 more) had been fitted and, in checking… Read Full ReviewVisit evanscycles.com
