A bad experience; firstly i am friendly and not picky in any way. I purchased the Crosstrail and was overall happy with it, expecting to replace the seat no problem. The free service, I was told at the time of purchase; they were busy and to have it done a lot later. Ok! I said, no problem. I haven't used it much anyway. So I thought the first service would be easy. Bad news!!
I rang up and asked for the appointment, yes, bring it it this morning, ok!

I purchased my bike from Evans for £600, so when I got a flat tyre i took the opportunity to get a service as well. I was told one price when I dropped the bike in - £39 (£10 cheaper than normal price as single speed bike). After I got my bike back I was charged £49. Then I had a flat tyre as soon as I got back on my bike. So on returning back to the store they said they would fix it, which I assumed was for free as they should have fixed it the first time. I wanted some tyres which only a few retailers seem to stock. I thought Evans would offer good customer service (being a large company).

Firstly I tried to price match with another site, my price match request was rejected as the price of the tyre with postage on the competitors site was the same as theirs. That would be fine if I was equipping a unicycle with a tyre, but most bikes have at least two wheels (three on a trike).

I think you should know about the very bad experience I have had yesterday when purchasing a Trek FX E+ from your branch at Lakeside, Thurrock. This is a bike that you insist is collected from the branch and is not available for home delivery.

The young lad that helped me when chosing my accessories for my new Specialized Secteur (2010), Tom I think his name was, could not have been more helpful. Really pleasant and very informative. “I took my bike to Evans Cycles for a special offer...”

I took my bike to Evans Cycles for a special offer 'Winter Chain clean' at £10. They told me I needed serious work, a new chain, a new cassette, complete overhaul of chainset and gears and a stage 1 service altogether about £170. I took my, not yet 2 year old bike, elsewhere and they said there was nothing wrong with the chain, the chainset, the cassette or gears. I got a full service (about £110 with Evans)and 2 new brake pads for £65. Absolutely disgusted with Evans and will never go there… Read Full Review

I recently bought a Scott RC pro jersey from Evans Cycles at 50% off the RRP.
The jersey arrived quickly but unfortunately it was not in the best condition due to having been "returned" previously.

I complained to Evans customer care department about this and they were fantastic. Another jersey was sent out along with a gift voucher to spend at an Evans store or online.

It is obvious to me now that customer care is top priority with Evans cycles.

I ordered a Caanondale Bad Boy Rohloff from Evans in the Uk over Christmas and it was delivered to Germany within a couple of weeks. After reading the reviews I was quite worried and considered cancelling the order but the bike came. Not within a couple of days but also not outrageously late. The sale price 2400 euros was really good for this bike and good luck with finding a better price than this.

“This place is garbage. I ordered shin guards from them...”

This place is garbage. I ordered shin guards from them along with other parts. The other parts showed up immediately but nothing was said about the shin guards. I emailed them and the response was that the pads were at the store not at the distribution center and that recalling them would take 10-14 days. I honestly have no idea why the store couldn't ship an item directly to a paying customer but whatever I decided to wait because I really wanted these pads. “These people have the worst customer service I have...”

These people have the worst customer service I have ever come across. They list items as being in stock, then find parts here and there to try to fit the order.
I received my "brand new" trail a bike 3 weeks late without the hitch which rendered it useless. After weeks of regular contacting their customer service they finally sent a hitch out but without the plastic shims that are essential!
I called again and again and gave up... they never sent the complete item. I had to order the shims… Read Full Review

Used Evans Cycles online for the first time, normally used the nearest store but couldnt be bothered to make the trip down.

Ordered some tyres, marked as in stock, delivery 3-5 days. 8 days later no arrival so emailed Customer Service. Received email back apologising as one of the two tyres was out of stock at the depo and they needed to get one from a store which could take 14 days!!!???

The service was more expensive than 1st estimated but no work was done until the shop mechanic phoned with a final assessment and quote. And I do agree the work was necessary and am very happy with the revitalised ride. Niggles like the brake/gear units on the handle bars being at different heights were quickly adjusted at home and perhaps that's he best for personal preference.
