“Poor Customer Service”

Placed an order for an item showing in stock. Didn't arrive after a week so I sent an email to find out if it had been despatched. “Didn't spend any money!”

Went to the MK store today for some 'stunt pegs' for my sons mongoose bmx. The chaps were very helpful and obviously realised I have no idea about these things. The guy helping me said there were some out back and went to look. He was gone for a fair while and when he came back he had just the ones we wanted. When I asked how much (my son was going to use his christmas money) he simply gave them to us for free!!! I salute these guys and won't use anyone else from this point onwards… Read Full Review

“Amazing quick service”

Lately I had quite a few problems with my bike so I stick with my local bike shop at Rathbone place to get everything quickly soarted. The service is always to a high standard and they talk you through the whole process. Lovely team and always there to help and give you a good pice of advice. My daughter had received two clothing items from her boyfriend for Christmas which were the wrong size. Unfortunately, he had not kept the receipt, only the email of order confirmation. I contacted customer service to discuss this matter, Craig who I spoke with was very polite and helpful and with the order number he was able to forward an email with a copy invoice so I could go in store to exchange the items. I recently bought a cycle from the deansgate store in Manchester.Id had the bike 3months and the gear changer broke .I returned the bike,the assistant tried to find a screw for it but couldn't he then came back and told me he could do a temporary repair on by fixing it with sellotape,no other help was offered .I took the bike and had it repaired elsewhere. “Winter cycling gloves and great advice!”

I would like to thank the Liverpool shop assistant who recommended the Endura Women's Strike winter waterproof gloves. I explained that despite trying several gloves, my hands always got cold on winter rides. I was baffled by the choice but the assistant had no hesitation in recommending these gloves. I went out this morning & my hands were warm & comfortable for the first time. So pleased but wish I'd noticed his name. “Awful After-Sales Service”

I have found Evans to be terrible to deal with. I bought an indoor cycle which didn't work initially and then took several weeks to fix. After 18 months it has failed completely. They asked me to send it back in a box via the post (!!!), then arranged a courier, then cancelled a courier. In the end I had to go to the manufacturer to resolve the problem. In my opinion these guys are just riding the UK cycle wave and don't care about customers. Think twice about using them… Read Full Review

I bought my bicycle at Evans Cycle 8 years ago. I tend to shop online for components, mainly Wiggle. Sometimes I shop at the Cycle surgery, which disappoint me slightly (always pushing the customer to buy more). However the staff of Evans cycle is really poor. It has to be said that your review does reach the shop or customer service centre and becomes part of what is known as an NPS score.

However, from experience, "detractors" i.e. people with negative comments, scoring 7 or less are, effectively, dismissed by management.
This highly destructive attitude means that this really important part of the business i.e. its most vulnerable and weakest points that require improvement are utterly ignored meaning the company will continue to be stuck with its outmoded attitude towards its business..

My partner and i have just had an amazing time on our first ride it event. The atmosphere was very friendly , the helpers were great and the course was well planned out. Went in to buy a new lamp - that time of year again. I chose one from the lighting display unit priced £13(and some pence), and took it to the counter. The assistant scanned it and said, "oh it's gone up now, it's £15 (and some pence), sorry about that". I said, "can you do that?", he replied, "afraid so". I would have asked for the manager and insisted that they charged the price advertised on the display as this is sloppy management in the shop, or the usual poor communication from head office to the shop.

If I had been serving you I would have made every effort to find you the price that matched, or beat that on the shelving then called the manager over.

Next time kick up a rumpus and do some research - find a price match with the companies that Evans Cycles matches with, (bottom of their website), and insist upon it being matched.
