“Untrustworthy ”

Ordered cough medication 27th December that was out of stock everywhere but they said they had it. Days went by no medicine though they said it had been dispatched. Got in touch, they said it was on its way. Time went by still no medication. I cancelled the order & asked for a refund. After emails going backwards & forwards & them saying they had refunded the money twice I still haven’t received the money. Was only £6.30 but it’s the principal of the situation & this company mislead on many occasions. How can you dispatch an out of stock item. Do not use this company. My credit card has refunded me.

“Refuse to cancel orders and took 17 days to deliver!”

Chemist Direct ignore any requests to cancel orders once they have been placed. Placed an order on 04th May for 3 items and by the 15th May as I hadn't received anything I emailed to cancel. On the 20th May the order turned up! I have also previously experienced this with the other very few times I have used Chemist Direct so you should bear this in mind if you are thinking of using them. In summary, it took 17 days for them to deliver 3 in stock items whilst ignoring an emailed request to cancel the order sent 5 days before they despatched the order. Aside from Chemist Direct being slightly cheaper than high street chemists there is absolutely nothing about them to recommend.

“Don’t bother”

Ordered essentials for holiday 10 days ago , received email yesterday stating one of the items not in stock and was delayed-that is why my order hadn’t been dispatched. Why didn’t they contact me before as I would have cancelled the one item and had the rest. Customer services appalling. Have now cancelled order and need to shop for my items two days before holiday aaaaaaagggg will never order from that company again and advise anyone to think carefully before they order because of the lack of communication from them,,,

“delivery lies”

did think this company was ok until my recent experience . ordered some goods that were promised for delivery on wed 3rd may 2017 ,they did not arrive. I phoned chemist direct on the Thursday to see what had happened only to be told that the delivery man had called 4.30pm and the delivery had failed ??? I was at home all that afternoon ,I live in a small semi and have a loud bell ...no one called ,I would have known ,also no card was left but I was told a photo of my house was taken by the delivery man . this turned out to be an old photo ! however I was promised delivery on fri 5th may but despite being in all day no one came. I phoned chemist dirct twice to ask them to confirm delivery was going to take place first at 2pm then at 4.30pm on both occasions I was promised the delivery would take place but it did not happen . I have now asked for my money back and will not be using this company again EVER ! I know things can go wrong but I hate being lied to .

will now update you on this review... on Saturday my parcel arrived but after I had signed for delivery and later unpacked it I discovered one item a glass bottle of medicine had a broken base and the contents were spilling out. so even more annoyed with this company ! however to be fair to them the problems seem to stem from their delivery agents DX . also chemist direct are refunding postage, replacing the damaged item and are taking the matter up with the delivery company DX.

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE COMPANY AND WHEN SENDING EMAILS THEY ARE NOT GIVING ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS ASKED.THEY RIPPED ME OFF REGARDING POSTAGE I WAS OVERCHARGED.I NEVER INTEND TO SHOP WITH THEM AGAIN OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYBODY AFTER MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM.THERE IS NOT A GOOD WORD I CAN SAY ABOUT THEM.

“EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE”

The delivery options are deceptive, inconvenient and out of order! Customer service is patronising, disrespectful and is an abuse of power. I paid for next morning delivery at an extra cost (oh they took my £6.99 for it straight off!). But despite waiting in all day on the Saturday, they did not turn up. As their office is closed on Saturdays (apparently not considered a working day for them!) I could not ring them. On Monday morning I was told in a very patronising, condescending manner, that I should have read their small print! I was also spoken to as if the woman in customer service was clearly inferring I was stupid! This was a big mistake, allied to the outrageous refusal to refund the part of the delivery charge for next day delivery. On the strength of their appalling attitude I will be making a formal complaint. I will never order anything further from Chemist Direct and neither will anyone I will be relaying this sorry story! Bad customer service, deceptive delivery terms.

Please be aware that even for harmless items a signature is required and that deliveries are only made 9-5 Mon-Fri which is impossible for many people out at work.

“Where's my refund?”

Placed an order for several items on 15th April. My PayPal account was charged immediately. On the 25th of April and after several emails, (one of the items was out of stock and delaying despatch) my order was delivered by DX. When I say delivered; I mean, left around the side of the house by the Bin. No signature. Nothing. I opened packaging to find the "out of stock" item still missing. Fair enough. But the point is, Chemist Direct charged me the full amount for the item not received. Opened a dispute through PayPal as Chemist Direct stopped responding to my emails. Oi Chemist direct! Where's my refund?!!!! Edit. In response to your reply. Since posting this review and disputing the charges through PayPal. I have since received a refund from Chemist Direct a number of weeks later. The delivery company - DX - indeed left the original order outside in the open next to the bin. A card was pushed through the letter box, no signature was attained

Hi, having a similar problem myself, DX attempted to deliver my order to my place of work on 4 occasions, all I kept getting was a text saying attempted delivery failed, bit like getting a 'Sorry we missed you' card, which you get from the PO when they did not even bother knocking on the door..........

Now I'm going through what you went through? Trying to get a refund from Chemist Direct, been going on for 3 weeks now.........

As for the courier DX, I've already slated them on this site.

Glad you eventually got your goods and refund in the end, we live and learn don't we

“Placed order for Next Day - didn't even process it!”

I had an absolutely stinking cold that left me feeling extremely ill and wiped out. I was also running low on cough medicine and too ill to walk to the nearest supermarket chemist so the next thing to do was order online for next day delivery! I placed it before 10am and checked a few times during the day - nothing was processed! I waited the next day and was told it'd be delivered and not to worry.... only for nothing to arrive. I rang the next day (the day AFTER it should have arrived so 3 days since order was placed) and found out that it hadn't even been checked by a pharmacist. The lady on the phone was very apologetic but said that they wouldn't be able to send it out as it was anyway because I'd ordered something that couldn't go with another (night nurse and a day time cough med - clearly I can't be trusted to medicate myself safely! Either that or you need to suffer during the day...!) and that they'd have to cancel some and send the rest....!? I cancelled it whilst on the phone and luckily was finally feeling better so went to Asda where I was served with both - and more - without problems! Yes I paid more - but without next day delivery - it was cheaper(!) I have since used a different online pharmacy for other items that worked perfectly - it arrived next day without even paying for next day delivery!

“What a mess!”

Ordering was painless, but the aftermath has been dreadful and horribly misleading! A few days after receiving a confirmation email for my order, I received another message informing me that my items had somehow been shipped 11,000 miles away to the Congo! I contacted the company and was told that they couldn't do anything about that until my shipment was returned from this war-torn country. Thankfully, another round of emails turned out to me more helpful--or so I thought. Customer service after the initial contact was pleasant but unhelpful. It has felt as though the representatives with whom I have spoken tell me what I want to hear, but not what was actually happening to my order. I had no fewer than three promises of 'I can confirm due date for your products is today and your order will be dispatched to you today as well', only to receive successive messages telling me that the product was out of stock. Finally, one last email came telling me I could cancel my order because the item was discontinued. Bottom line: I've been left waiting three weeks for items that will clearly never arrive. The prospect of many emails to come so I can get my money back is unsettling. Take your business elsewhere!

“Beware, suspicious practices”

I tried ordering doublebase gel (20 of them) - this cream helps my spouse and I with very dry skin and ezcema. Note that this gel is not a prescription medication, just a regular over the counter product. On 3 separate occasions they said there was one issue or the other with my card even though my bank processed the charges all 3 times with no problem. Each time, they would say, "your card failed our autocheck system" - before they received my responses or enquiries, they cancelled the orders. So, I eventually tried calling and spoke to someone who said they mistakenly cancelled the orders on their end (note- mistakenly and yet they sent an email to say my card failed auto check). I sent them a couple of bank confirmation emails on my end to show the charges went through the bank fine. They said they could not reinstate the order that I'll have to put in the order again. I tried the last time and I think their site blocked my card. I eventually asked my spouse to make the order for me (making this the 4th time trying to make this one order). He did and he received a note that they needed him to call because they had some security questions. He called and they really didn't have any questions for him, that everything should be fine now. Before we knew what was happening (the day after), they sent an email to say they have cancelled the order but we should let them know why we are ordered so many of the same item. If they were sensible people, would you not think that they would wait to receive our response before cancelling an order? Keep in mind that the quantity he ordered were similar to what I had ordered but the issue of quantity never came up- I guess after running out of ideas they had to use that one. We live in the U.S. and the items are not readily available here, so instead of ordering 2 or 5 at a time, better order a year's supply, save on shipping costs and having to run out of the items right? No- they are not sensible enough and I guess they don't know what bulk buying is- they probably never been to Costco or Sams Club. Now I am thinking, maybe their website is actually a front. I'll have to keep an eye on my past and future credit card charges now as I am quite nervous something is seriously wrong with the people running this website. Beware of the 5-star reviews you see- I am almost 100% sure these are paid reviews.

“Customer Dis-service”

Having recently placed an order for a number of items I subsequently noticed that I had been overcharged for some Dove Body Wash. When I contacted Customer Services they disputed my claim. I have sent them proof in the form of the delivery note and the amount taken from my credit card but they have obviously chosen to ignore the evidence and my emails. I placed the order on the 19th August so I can only assume, as no refund has been made, that Chemist Direct think it ok to keep money that isn't theirs.

In my case, I paid by PayPal and was charged by Chemist Direct for items that were "out of stock". They delayed refunding my account to the extent I had to open a dispute with PayPal.

“Fail to deliver, keep your money. Make up 5-star reviews.”

Extremely bad business- they suck. I've also a customer in some German online pharmacies and the service and speed of shipping is 1st class, but this Chemist Direct online pharmacy is a shame to UK. Their "live chat" don't reply at all, and they fail to reply most of the emails. They make up nicknames and write 5-star reviews of themselves onto several consumer review boards like this here. I haven't received my purchased items ( I placed the order in the beginning of April 2015, now it's 30th May, no items, no refund) They state that the shipment has got lost in transit. They asked me if I want the re-ship the items or refund, I chose refund, they won't pay. Maybe the domestic clients in UK do receive their ordered goods, for any foreigners I recommend NOT to buy from them. I have to file a police report of fraud, and with that report make a reclamation to my credit card issuer bank in order to get my money back. I also consider a legal act against them, I have enough evidence and money for that.

I give a parcel drop service address as my shipping address. If the delivery name or reference number are not recorded on the delivery document, the goods do not reach me. My default shipping details recorded on the Chemist Ditect System are correct. But Chemist Direct abbreviate these in preparing the delivery document.The result is an inadequate delivery address, which I only become aware of when notified of the delivery. In pointing out the problem to Chemist Direct, an immediate from them reponse stating they are not liable! Not a word of trying to fix the problem< which lies in their system!!! Also beware of buying in bulk for your / your family's personal needs. The cheapies often have a short use by date. Unfortunately when you order, the expiry date is not given

“incorrect information”

i order two packs of krill oil few days ago i pay the total all seems ok until next day i received email saying they don't have the stock as soon they have my order will be dispatch. after few days same email still they are waiting they have problem with their supplier. my personal view is that it is joke we are customer we don't need to know what is your problem with your supplier and top of that still in their web site showing the item is available at least if they have a little bit of honesty they should have mentioned item is not available.

“Horrible company!!!!! Stay well clear of them”

Ordered an item on Thursday to be delivered next day and paid for the privilege of Next day delivery...Item didn't arrive, called several times on the Friday to chase and they couldn't give me any concrete answers. I requested the order to be cancelled and was advised it was (thankfully I recorded the conversation. Through sheer incompetence they sent the item and I received it the following Tuesday, even though I had requested cancellation on Friday. Try to speak to their customer service and they will give you stinking attitude over their own mistake, not until I mentioned I had a call recording confirming cancellation of the order did they agree to send me a self-addressed envelop to send item back and get refunded. Still waiting for the self addressed envelop, if I dont get it by the end of the week, I shall report them to Trading Standards, for breach as I had cancelled the order. If you think of ordering anything with them, save yourself the hassle, they are a bunch of incompetent fools, from the "managers" to the customer service reps!!!!!

“Terrible Customer Experience. ”

I have been waiting 18 days now for a delivery that is obviously not turning up. Chemist Direct refuse to either resend or refund. I would avoid using Chemist Direct if you want your item delivered with confidence.
