Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback. Tickets are normally available for dispatch 1-2 weeks before a performance. So it usual to receive them in the week of the event.

We trust that you have received the tickets safely since and we hope you enjoyed the event and had an amazing time.

“DO NOT USE THESE TOUTS!!!!!”

Written on: 03/06/2014 by AVOIDanddisappointed (1 review written)

I paid £249 in December for 2 tickets to the concert taking place on 20th June. The tickets arrived today face value £55 each. so why was I charged £249? A telephone call took place and I was told this is common practice and I should have seen details of this on the site when I booked my tickets! I feel totally ripped off. I have never had this problem with Ticket master. Avoid Seatwave like the plague!! … Read Full Review

Ticketmaster is a primary agent. Seatwave is a secondary agent. The sellers who list the tickets decide the price - not Seatwave. It's all explained very clearly on their website, and the face value of the ticket is always shown. Your decision to buy at the higher price - you were not misled in any way.

I didn't pay for any tickets, and I certainly didn't sell any to you! All I am telling you is that everything is explained very clearly on Seatwave's website and it's sad that you didn't notice it when you bought the tickets.
As the CEO of Seatwave explained on Watchdog, they believe that it is everyone's right to do what they want with their tickets. Once they have bought them, they become their property.
Perhaps if you had read the website you would have chosen not to buy second-hand tickets - but Seatwave is very clear on their role in the ticket selling market. They are not out to cheat anyone. 85% of the reviewers on this site are happy with Seatwave!

No - I don't work for Seatwave! And, hey! - I'm on your side. I'm only sorry you didn't read the website properly. Next to each listing is an icon, and if you click on that you will see the final price you will have to pay, plus postage which ofcourse can't be added until you put in your address. On the next page, which is the payment page, the face value of the ticket is very clearly shown BEFORE you imput your credit card details, so it's up to you to choose whether or not you want to pay over the odds. I don't think Seatwave could be more transparent.
I HAVE read the other comments on here. The vast majority are positive, which is quite unusual as most people don't post a review unless they are unhappy with a service. 85% of people have posted positive reviews, and of the remaining 15% most of the complaints are because the tickets haven't turned up (yet). People don't bother to repost if they then receive their tickets in time.

HI there,

We would like to apologise for any frustration you've experienced with your ticket purchase on this occasion.

The reason the price stated on the ticket is different to what you have paid is because seatwave is an on-line marketplace, where people can buy and sell tickets. Prices are set by sellers when they list their tickets on seatwave.

We believe that fans should have the right to do what they want with tickets they have bought, including selling them at the going market rate if they choose to. Sellers can list tickets to any event of their choosing and can select their own selling price. We provide tools that show the market value of their tickets on our exchange over time.

Buyers on our platform have access to the same marketplace information, allowing them to make calculated decisions on seat location and the best time to buy tickets. We have several features on our buying page that help you to narrow your search to your specific requirements. One of those features is a sliding scale price bar where you can select a maximum price and only the tickets within your selected price range will appear so you can choose exactly how much you would like to spend.

We can assure you that the face value is shown for every transaction on the buying page before you go to the next step and enter your payment details and we’re sorry if you feel this was not clear, as we go to great lengths to develop our website and make it as user friendly and transparent as possible.

do you think I would have agreed to pay £249 for tickets of a face value of £110 if the information you claim to have been available was visible. It may have been in small print somewhere but I did not see it. I was under the impression that seatwave worked in the same manner as Ticketmaster who only charge the face value of the ticket plus commission. I have had my fingers burned and will only work with Ticketmaster in future. They are open and honest unlike Seatwave!!

Haven't got them anymore sorry, but you can have some for another grandstand with better views, same price, fair enough I thought. Hi there,

Firstly, we would like to apologise for any frustration you've experienced with your ticket purchase on this occasion.

Our priority here at Seatwave is to ensure that we get you to the chosen event so we are very careful to follow up any unusual issues that may arise and this would have been one of them.

Seatwave is a marketplace where people can buy and sell tickets. This means that we at Seatwave do not sell the tickets ourselves and all the tickets listed come from fans and distributors around the world.

We can assure you that we have strict terms and conditions in place to ensure sellers fulfil they orders and it is a rare occurrence that sellers are not able to supply tickets as advertised. In case anything goes wrong we step in and try to source replacement tickets for you or if we fail, we will issue you the full purchase price including the commission and postage you have paid, which means seatwave itself will not keep a single penny of the purchase price. This is our promise (Ticket Integrity) to our buyers.

We are very sorry that we have been unable to find replacement tickets for you. We don’t underestimate how disappointed you are and we can assure you we really have tried all possible options to source you tickets.

We appreciate that money is not always the most important issue and therefore we offered you a 15% voucher that can be used towards a future experience as we would like you to see a truer reflection of the way we work. We understand that you may not use us in the near future as it is clear that you feel we have let you down however, should you change your mind please do to get in touch with us. We would love for you to have seamless experience with us.

Anything you have written including your offer of 15%discount was already mentioned in my review. I have been completely honest with my review. One other thing I must mention is this....why do you take the money from a customers bank account before you send out tickets you do not know you have or not!! You took an age to refund my partner for the said above event, but you weren't so slow to take it from him!! I stand by my review of your company which is at best poor, but more like atrocious...

HI there,

Firstly, we would like to apologise for any frustration you've experienced with your ticket purchase on this occasion.

We know people have busy lives and we know how frustrating it is to receive the tickets so close to the event, this is why when purchasing tickets with us you are given the option of selecting a different delivery address to your home address.

We ask our Sellers to send the tickets as soon as possible after the order confirmation and we do specify that tickets should be shipped at the very least two working days before the event.

The charge of £9.99 you are referring to, covers the delivery as well as the handling fee for your order and we are sorry if this was not clear upfront. If anything goes wrong during the delivery process, for example if your tickets are lost or delayed during the delivery process due to the fault of the delivery service, we at seatwave will step in and try to source replacement tickets for you at no extra cost to you.

This is our Ticket Integrity Promise.

Once again, we would like to apologise for the inconvenience and are sorry for the disappointment felt. We do appreciate you getting in touch and welcome your feedback.

Hi there,

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused due to invalid tickets you have received for Barry Manilow.

We can assure you that we have strict terms and conditions in place to ensure genuine tickets for our buyers and it is a rare occurrence that buyers are denied entry and we appreciate the disappointment that this situation has caused to you.

We only issue the payment to the seller after the event took place and once we know you successfully gained entrance. In case anything goes wrong we will issue you the full purchase price including the commission and postage you have paid, which means seatwave itself will not keep a single penny of the purchase price. This is our promise (Ticket Integrity) to our buyers.

We acknowledge that a full refund was already issued however, we do appreciate that money is not always the most important issue and we would like to offer you a gift certificate that can be used towards a future experience as we would like you to see a truer reflection of the way we work.

We do hope this goes some way in showing you that we do care very much about how you view our company and your customer experience.

Ticket prices are set by the sellers and may be higher than face value

Face value printed on ticket excluding fees: £55.00

I copied the above paragraph directly from the Seatwave website. The face value is shown on every single booking BEFORE you enter your credit card details. I don't think they can be more transparent than that.

Actually the law needs to be changed so that promoters must offer a refund for unwanted tickets. You know, it is JUST possible that some of the tickets bought on secondary sites were placed there by genuine fans who could no longer attend the event. At the moment, all they can do is resell the tickets on a secondary site or bin them.
As for a law being passed that stops people buying anything and then selling it for as much profit as they can get - that's never going to happen!

Maybe so, bit it is clear that with so many tickets bought writhing 4 hours of the event going on general sale and the volume of tickets placed on secondary markets the amount of genuine fans must have been a very small minority given they were placed I'm sale writhin 5 hours , I can see a genuine need for a secondary market but it is very much being a abused to such a degree that something is so very wrong. Yes it is free market and we all have a choice but I think your comments are well wide of the mark

Yes, ofcourse it's a shame but spare tickets come from many different sources. They could come from complimentaries dished out to people who are not interested in the artist, or they could be from fans who can no longer attend, or they could be from ticket touts. They could even be from promoters themselves. But face value and market value are two very different things.

Hi there,

One of our main priorities at Seatwave is to be completely transparent which can also be found on our company blog.

We operate a fair and secure marketplace for both, sellers as well as buyers. We're big fans of music, theatre and sports events so we do genuinely care about getting our customers to their chosen gigs.

Our Ticket Integrity guarantee ensures that buyers using the platform will receive the tickets their ordered in time for the event, and that they'll get entry, should anything go wrong we at seatwave will protect you and got you covered, which is part of the reason why seatwave was born.

I have no idea how Seatwave persuaded you to buy tickets for a concert that you didn't want to go to. In any case, you got the ticket for face value plus fees. Even the primary sites like Ticketmaster and the venues themselves charge enormous fees for doing very little.
If you didn't want to go don't you feel bad about taking up a seat that a genuine fan could have sat in?

Very clever! Most tickets on Seatwave are way above face value and that's how you make money. My point was many people who have no intention of going to concerts buy tickets to sell on sites like Seatwave simply to make money and you make money from that. Do you think this is morally acceptable? You obviously do as you work for the company. Most genuine fans unable to go would sell at face value - which I accept happened in this case. However I still paid over the odds because of your fees - which were far more than Ticketmaster etc.

No, I don't work for the company and I misunderstood your first comment. I think people sell tickets for many reasons; if they are unable to attend themselves it's their only way of recouping their money because the primary sites do not accept returns, or perhaps the only way they can afford to attend a concert is to buy more tickets than they need and sell the extras at a profit, or, they are just buying to sell and make a profit. I don't accept that "genuine fans" would balk at making a profit. Being a "genuine fan" doesn't make you a saint. Hitler was a genuine fan of Wagner.

“Unreliable. lost money and chances”

Written on: 20/05/2014 by Dakesh (1 review written)

I strongly suggest not to use seatwave and such kinds of services, for very obvious reasons. Off course, for the first sight it looks pretty easy to order the ticket and go to the event. I have made two orders, both to the soccer matches, but I have not visited them, spending 93 and 206 euros respectively for the event tickets, and approx 300 euros for the airway and train tickets to Milan and Barcelona, without counting other spendings. My first event, that I missed was Milan-Inter Milan… Read Full Review

I am wondering why you think you were mislead. The face value of the ticket is very clearly shown on the checkout page, before you enter any payment details. It's not even in small print. Can't understand why you missed it.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback.

Firstly, we would like to apologise for any frustration you've experienced with your ticket purchase on this occasion.

With regards to the Face value, the reason the price stated on the ticket is different to what you have paid is because seatwave is an online marketplace, where people can buy and sell tickets.

However, we understand that this has been a far from easy experience for you and so we would like to make this up to you and offer you a 10% Voucher towards a future purchase, so you may see a truer reflection of the way we work. Please do get in touch with us through our website.

We do hope this goes someway in showing you that we do care very much about how you view our company and your customer experience.

Seatwave is one of the most transparent secondary ticket selling sites around. Face value is clearly shown, as is the final amount you are going to pay. The only addition at check-out is the postage which can obviously only be added once they know where the tickets are going to be sent to. They have an 85.2% positive rating on this site alone - not bad when you consider that most people who are satisfied with a service don't bother to post a review. Compare that to the 16% positive rating that Ticketmaster has!!

I bought the tickets from Seat wave as an organisation not a 3rd party and I can assure you at no point did the face value of the ticket appear - just the cost per ticket you as an organisation were selling at. If the face value of £36 rather than the £79 I paid have been shown I would have looked else ware without a doubt.

And having read similar reviews since I realise I am not alone. On other organisations such as Ticket master who I would recommend and in hindsight should have used they very clearly state the face value price of the tickets.

If you are that concerned then refund me the difference in price to show good will........but the likes of greedy organisations such as yourself would never act out of concern for customers would you

Why are you giving Seatwave a bad review? It's the fault of UPS - obviously if they did not contact you, neither did they contact Seatwave.
By the way, the seller can only generate an airway bill which has the address already printed on it - the address supplied by you, so ultimately if this was wrong it's you that is at fault.

It was written on your website: 'Your order has been confirmed and as soon as your tickets have been sent out you will receive a dispatch confirmation email with a unique tracking number'

I did not receive any.

having the track number, I could observe the ticket moving on my own.
Seatwave only sent me this track number when ticket was on the way back to the seller

Hi there,

thank you for your feedback.

Excellent customer service is very important to us and it is also important to us to make things right when they do go wrong. We regret any inconvenience you have experienced and it’s disappointing to hear when our customers are less than happy, especially when tickets cannot be delivered due to an incorrect delivery address as this is something which is of course out of our control.

We regret that this transaction did not run smoothly and we do appreciate that money is not always the most important issue and as a gesture of good will we would like to offer you a little something towards a future experience.

Please do get in touch with us through our website so we can offer you a 10% discount code.

We do hope this goes some way in showing you that we do care very much about how you view our company and your customer experience.

Seatwaveteam's Response to Mwww's Review

Hi there,

thank you for your time and feedback.

Our priority here at Seatwave is to ensure that we get you to the chosen event. So we are very careful in following up any unusual issues that may arise, this would be one of them.

Whilst we fully appreciate the disappointment you have experienced, given that the tickets are provided from a third party, we would require the written confirmation from the venue that they were unable to gain entrance as proof in order to be able to proceed actions against the seller.

As Seatwave is a marketplace, we don’t own the tickets, therefore the proof from the venue is needed as we need to pass this information on to the seller. We hope you can understand that this measurement is in place to protect sellers that use our site who supply genuine tickets.

We take our Job very seriously and we share the passion for live events with our customers, this is why we have strict terms and conditions in place for sellers and we will ban any seller who is supplying invalid tickets from our site.

We would like to urge you to get in touch with us through our website and provide us with the written proof from the venue so we can do the right thing and refund you the full purchase price and take the appropriate actions against the seller of your tickets as we feel you have been let down.

We would like to apologise for the inconvenience and are sorry for the disappointment felt.
