I recently paid much more than the face value for tickets to see Leonard Cohen in Brighton. I was nervous after reading the reviews about fake tickets, but they arrived in plenty of time and were exactly as advertised. I needed to buy 10 tickets for the Serie A, Inter v Juve game on Nov 22 2008 and was worried by the lack of good reviews on this site. This was my stag do so it was crucial. We paid £70 for our tickets, third tier red. We had a good view of the game even there up in the gods. The atmosphere was top notch...real pantomime....there was a great but not aggressive atmosphere. The interface was quick and easy and I got paid about 10 days after the performance. ** you don't get paid as soon as the tickets sell, but after the performance itself, which I guess is to cut down on fraud. I sold 2 sets of 2 NFL wembley tickets with seatwave a few months back. After reading negative reports about payment on here I was a little concerned. Although it did take 10 days after the event to get paid I was paid in full. Buyers should know they usually will be paying over the odds but that is how demand and supply works. When my tickets arrived I was only sent 9 and thought 'here we go'. However Seatwave were excellent - answered my calls, rang me back and assured me I would get the extra ticket or a new set. Yes you pay more, that is how they make their money so if don't you want to pay above the ticket price then you need to be quick off the mark. We couldn't buy tickets in advance as we were not sure how my grandmother would be. I have sold tickets on Seatwave, and have been paid. For those of you who are complaining about tickets being overpriced, that's the point. Its a fan-to-fan ticket exchange. Supply and demand dictates that if you have the tickets, and they are rare, you can charge whatever people are willing to pay for them. It's not immediately obvious (by the adverts on the tube) that this is how the ticket pricing works. By saying it's a "fan-to-fan" service it comes across as if there is no company in the middle making money. I've had at least a couple of people talk to me about how they'd like to use seatwave as it's something that's done by fans for the fans. I make it clear that it's like ebay eg. people set ticket prices with a big mark-up. And advised them not to use as the service was so bad, took me 10 weeks to get paid, despite me sending the tickets and them being signed-for within a matter of days. <br/><br/>At least with ebay you know what you're getting, and I've never had any issues with ebay when I've sold tickets on. Have always used paypal and ebay with no bother. <br/><br/>And tickets may be advertised in advance, but if it's a gig that's in demand you can't always get through straight away, they can sell out within a matter of minutes.

I actually sell tickets on the site and as soon as Seatwave supply me with the pre-paid envelope (usually the day after the sale has been made) I mail the tickets to the buyer. I've never had any problems and neither have the people who bought the tickets from me. It's a pity that only people with complaints write anything on this site. What about all the happy customers? From Tom at Seatwave. We were shocked to find that the tickets sent were fake and once we were told of this immediately agreed a 100% refund - we will also black-list the seller from our site. As a ticket exchange we bring buyers and sellers together, rather than sell tickets ourselves. We treat every occasion that a customer doesn't receive tickets extremely seriously and try to ensure that whenever possible you get to attend the event. If not, as sadly was the case here, then we offer a full refund.

It seems that their support department has no idea about what is going on... One employee phoned me clearly stating that I will receive a full refund shortly, and now I keep receiving emails stating that I need to somehow get my fake ticket back and send it to seatwave..

1. Fake tickets are confiscated on the spot, no questions asked.<br/>2. Such firms should have close relations with security companies at events instead of saying "we cannot contact Ticketmaster on your behalf."

No, it's not a ripoff. They will refund the money if you return the fake tickets. They only act as an agent - they don't sell their own tickets so the person who gave them the fake ticket to sell is at fault.
