I was initially a bit nervous about using Seatwave due to the bad reviews, but then its often only when something doesn't work out that people bother to write a review, where's many, many satisfied customers who probably don't write their good experiences. I paid £600+ weeks ahead for Mamma Mia tickets and they let us down 3 days before the show. She cried for hours and hours and hours. How do you explain it to her?
Oh, and why do they take 2 weeks to refund the money - they took it quickly enough.

From Tom at Seatwave: May I re-iterate our sincere apologies that you were unable to attend Mama Mia at the weekend. We actively monitor all sales on our site and as a result were alerted to the delay in your seller dispatching tickets to you. Further investigation uncovered the fact that your seller was not able source the tickets and our internal sourcing team immediately attempted to find alternatives. Unfortunately, due to the timescales involved and the popularity of the show we could not find replacements. Your refund was immediately raised and approved; the 10 day timescale quoted is to cover all eventualities in terms of the processing of the refund back through the banking system. We would always hope that the money is credited to the account before this.

<br/>We never want to see a sale end up as a refund and it is all the more galling that this situation involved a birthday and the disappointment experienced by your daughter. After reading so many negative comments i bought more tickets for coldplay next year thinking mine from seatwave would not come! However, they came 10 days before the gig, and we saw them last night at the o2 arena. They were amazing. Yes our tickets were expensive but we were willing to pay that for them. I recently paid much more than the face value for tickets to see Leonard Cohen in Brighton. I was nervous after reading the reviews about fake tickets, but they arrived in plenty of time and were exactly as advertised. I needed to buy 10 tickets for the Serie A, Inter v Juve game on Nov 22 2008 and was worried by the lack of good reviews on this site. This was my stag do so it was crucial. We paid £70 for our tickets, third tier red. We had a good view of the game even there up in the gods. The atmosphere was top notch...real pantomime....there was a great but not aggressive atmosphere. I sold 2 sets of 2 NFL wembley tickets with seatwave a few months back. After reading negative reports about payment on here I was a little concerned. Although it did take 10 days after the event to get paid I was paid in full. Buyers should know they usually will be paying over the odds but that is how demand and supply works. Yes you pay more, that is how they make their money so if don't you want to pay above the ticket price then you need to be quick off the mark. We couldn't buy tickets in advance as we were not sure how my grandmother would be. I have sold tickets on Seatwave, and have been paid. For those of you who are complaining about tickets being overpriced, that's the point. Its a fan-to-fan ticket exchange. Supply and demand dictates that if you have the tickets, and they are rare, you can charge whatever people are willing to pay for them. It's not immediately obvious (by the adverts on the tube) that this is how the ticket pricing works. By saying it's a "fan-to-fan" service it comes across as if there is no company in the middle making money. I've had at least a couple of people talk to me about how they'd like to use seatwave as it's something that's done by fans for the fans. I make it clear that it's like ebay eg. people set ticket prices with a big mark-up. And advised them not to use as the service was so bad, took me 10 weeks to get paid, despite me sending the tickets and them being signed-for within a matter of days. <br/><br/>At least with ebay you know what you're getting, and I've never had any issues with ebay when I've sold tickets on. Have always used paypal and ebay with no bother. <br/><br/>And tickets may be advertised in advance, but if it's a gig that's in demand you can't always get through straight away, they can sell out within a matter of minutes.
