The Canon AE-1 is an awesome SLR camera. I'm no pro, but even with this SLR, I seem to take pictures that look awesome..and it's so easy! I've only had one thing that needed to be fixed, but it was minor...my grandfather bought it new back in 1976, and it's been working strong ever since! I love ...

I love my canon AE-1 SLR. it's the best thing next to thanksgiving. I wouldn't use another camera if my photo career depended on it. It's God's gift to photographers.

Recently ran into someone at a dog show with the exact same camera I had, both of us noted the others AE-1 and we both remarked, "don't ever get rid of it!" Maintenance? All I've ever done is change the battery and blow the dirt out of it. This camera is a real trooper.

This camera has to be among the best SLR cameras ever made. The mechanic and electronic part works like a charm, doing what you expect, and neither sand or snow kills this camera. The choice of original optics are good, and the availability and prices of used optics etc are also good.

I love my AE-1. However, I learned on a Pentax P30t which has a light meter that suggests shutter speeds, unlike the AE-1, which suggests f-stops. I still think photography is quicker when you can choose a motion-stopping shutter speed and move the aperture ring around until your meter says 1/250 ...

They dont make them like they used to do they.This is better made than the Nikons of this era. I have a Nikon FG20 too which has now broke (dropped from a great height) oops a daisy!

35mm SLR Cameras: Manual Focus
