I used to use Piz Buin as a child and had no problems. Then i started using it again last year on holiday and developed an unsightly red itchy rash that became like blisters from head to toe. I didn't consider it was piz buin, until i put some on again this weekend with the lovely weather, and only put it on once and the next day am covered again. I just hope it doesnt take weeks like last time to disappear, at least i know before this it ruins this years holiday!
Would NOT recommend! (read more)

Travelled to Bhali last year and used Piz Buin cream....came out in a red itchy rash, my eyes swelled and chest was tight. The lovely people of Bhali came all sorts of antedotes which helped after about 7 days, and they put it down to sea food.
I then went to Portugal and suffered the same thing, i had some tests and they thoughy my sweat glands were blocked causing prickly heat.
I went to Spain a month later and used an organic sun tan cream and experience no problems.

Just come back from 3 weeks in Australia after using Piz Buin 1 Day Long suncream. Had to visit the doctor as my arms/lower back are covered in a red rash, really itchy and hot to the touch. My wife is now coming out in a rash on a neck & chest. Never been allergic to suncreams before or indeed anything else. Doc confirmed it was an allergic reaction to something and not prickly heat, recommended anti-histamine tablets and E45 anti-itch cream - seems to be working. I would avoid this product.

Created an alergic reaction in both my husband and I. As I didn't use if for more than a few days the rash didn't develop more than a bumpy feel to my skin, however my husband continued to use Piz Buin 1 day long for a few more days and came out in an angry red itchy painful rash from his neck down to his feet (luckyily he didn't use it on his face). He was so uncomfortable we went to the resort nurse who sent him to the doctors, who threw everything at it - prednisilone tablets(steriods),... (read more)

Have used this product now for over two years. It is absorbed really easily without leaving lasting residue. I have sensitive skin and do not tan but trust this product to protect me. If sun is really intense I would still apply twice a day, as a precaution more than necessity. Big fan of the 11ml sachets as you can put in bag/pocket just in case. (read more)

DON'T USE THIS PRODUCT!!!!!! We've used this product twice - both times on skiing vacations. The first time, my daughter broke out in a rash on her face that ended up in scabs. We thought it was windburn. The dermatologist said it was sunburn and that we should use more sunscreen. The next time we went skiing, we put tons of Piz Buin 50+ sunscreen on my daughter and by the second day, her face was again covered in a rash. We finally figured out the Piz Buin sunscreen was causing the... (read more)

I used this product two days ago prior to going into the sun. When I woke up the next day and had a shower I thought I had sunburn but turned out to be hive like lumps all over my arms and legs where I had applied the sunscreen. It became very red , itchy and bumpy. Now my summer has been ruined because I have to cover up this unsightly skin. It's been four days now and it still hasn't gone away. TERRIBLE. DON"T USE THIS PRRODUCT!!!! (read more)

Used Piz Bruin once a day sun cream in Turkey at beginning of summer and developed a rash all down one arm and leg, and side of face. I put down to prickly heat though I hve never suffered from this before. I am on medication that lowers my immune system and thought that that was probably why. The rash did not disappear until days after I returned home. I avoided the sun at home but enjoyed a few days at the beach and used my friends Nivea sunscreen and I was fine. Back home in the garden I... (read more)

I used this product for the first time in the caribbean, I don't know how they can call it one a day, because after about 1 hour my skin was burning and repeated applications did no good what so ever, in the evening I had sunburn.
I have previously used P20 which is a fantastic product.

Like the other reviews I have read, I suffered a severe allergic reaction on holiday to this product and ended up in Spanish casualty having an injection of cortisone and then polyamides to fight the awful effect that the cream was having on my face and body. The doctor was particularly worried about my breathing as the swelling under my chin and across my nose was severe and who knows if it may have become effected if I had not had treatment. I have no other allergies to cosmetic products... (read more)

I too had a terrible allergic reaction to this product. I had used it for about 5 years previously and then last year on about day 2 of my holiday woke up with a swollen face and very itchy skin. I took over the counter antihistimine tablets and applied calamine lotion, but still continued to use the product as did not think that could be the cause having used it many times before. By about day 7 of my holiday the rash was so bad, my face was so swollen and I could harly open my eyes. I... (read more)

I cannot believe what I am reading- how can PIZ BUIN Suncream still be on the market!!Never ever using this again!I used once and by the evening I was beginning to itch on top of my arms!By the next day, the red, raised and angry rash had spread to my chest and neck then my jaw-line.My ears and nostril swelled slightly!Went to my docs and he diagnosed Polymorphic Light Eruption and prescribed anti-histamine tablets and steroid cream. The rash slowly crusted over and calmed down, then skin was... I too have used this product for just one day and my skin has erupted into a sore, red itchy rash which is incredibly uncomfortable. Nothing seems to be easing the symptoms either and it's all over my face which is rather unsightly.
Please DO NOT USE this product unless you want these unpleasant side effects!!!
I'm extremely disappointed in the brand for selling this product which appears to be having such adverse effects on so many people and will never use any Puz Buin sun creams... (read more)

I hope I can put anyone off buying this product. I have skin which can withstand most things which are thrown at it and knowing Piz Buin to be a reputable brand i thought I would give their one day cream. I am currently sat on a cruise ship close to tears as this cream has ruined my holiday. At first I had no problems then I started to develop a very angry and itchy rash on my chest which I put down to prickly heat or sunburn. As a result I applied generous helpings of the suncream all... (read more)

wish i had seen these as before i used it. Used it on my neck arms face and within an hour in the sun I came out in a red itchy bumpy rash like hives which 4 days later is getting worse despite taking perscription antihistimine. What will take it away? This is obviously a substandard product ans I don't recommend anybody take the chance buying it. I have never had a reaction before to anything. It should be labelled as likely to irritate skin and then I wouldn't have bought it. (read more)

Wish I had seen these reviews before our summer holiday this year. My partner used factor 15 1 day long piz buin on his head and face on the first day of our holiday in Majorca and next day woke up looking like the elephant man. Swollen and blotchy face and felt unwell. We went to the pharmacist who gave him antihisthamines and said that she had seen hundreds of people with a similar allergic reaction to these suncreams. He had to stay in the shade for 7 days which spoilt our holiday. His... (read more)

I am extremley disappointed in this product. I have just returned from my holiday abroad for 5 days. On the second day of my holiday I began to get a rash on the tops of my arms. I thought I was beginning to burn so I applied more cream. The following day the rash had spread to almost every part of my body, apart from my face luckily (I used a separate face SPF in a different brand). Anyway I carried on putting this cream on when I was out in the sun. By the 3rd day I was in agony, my skin... (read more)

Bought this for my holidays this year as it is quite hard to get any suncreams where I live which are lower than a factor 15. Used this for about 4 days of my holidays and came out in the most awful red itchy rash. I have never before had any rash etc. with using creams. One week later I am still in agony. NO-ONE SHOULD EVER USE THIS SUN CREAM AND IN FACT IT SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF THE SHELVES. This totally ruined my holidays and I am now wearing long trousers and long sleeved tops so... (read more)
