Had a quote online, came out cheapest, called up because I'd rather speak with someone to sort it, woman on the phone wasn't rude, but seemed pretty eager to get me insured as quickly as she could and onto the next customer. I've worked in outbound sales and she gets a 2/5 for report building haha! Quote turned out to be £300 more than online and the compulsory excess was £2000! 1) Although your agent, was excellent in all respects it still took 20 minutes on the ‘phone to renew my insurance 2) I gave her my new E-Mail address and she updated it as we spoke, but the documents were sent to my old E-Mail address 3) When trying to log in to retrieve the documents I had to put the new E-Mail address, even though you sent everything to the old address 4) I did not expect to have to print 23 pages of documents and which idiot decided to make the breakdown… Read Full Review

The cover was best value and has been consistently so, no complaints there. I did however find the experience of applying for the cover to be quite frustrating when using a smart phone. The graphics seemed to push the data fields off the screen. Also, there either did not appear to be, or I was unable to access, any saved data as a returning customer. I have used MCE for many years now to insure my 1990 Honda PC 800. I am a Driving Examiner, and it was me who took the owner of MCE and his wife for their bike tests many years ago. I do have VIP status with them, but I'm not convinced it has any benefits. I have always found them fair to deal with giving good value for the premium. “Reasonable good service”

The information passed from a comparison site to yourselves passed an old address instead of my current one, meaning my policy was registered in the wrong address. I rang immediately and this was changed over. However, the correct price for my correct address was around £6 cheaper and this was not passed back to me. Also, my home town was entered spelt wrong. “Incorrect documentation and a lack of customer service”

What do I think of MCE? At the moment appalling! I registered and took out a policy 9 May 16. The website software recognised that I had been a customer of MCE in the past as it bought up an old email address and an old defunct bike reg. Corrected the details, entered the dates needed; it recognised the change of email address and showed the correct model of bike; and I paid. You're asking me for a review when I haven't even received my policy documents yet you take my money immediately. The girl on the phone had exactly zero communications skills and I fear if I had asked her any questions then she would of exploded or melted. I took the policy as, embarrassinlgy, I can't be bothered to ring round trying to save £5. Having done some research on-line I phoned MCE to insure my bike. After an eternity of asking questions, most of which I had answered on-line, I was given a quote. “Online and telephone quotes don't match”

When swapping my two year old bike for the exact same new model the quoted mid-term renewal on exactly the same terms (fully comprehensive) was almost double the current price - and the excess went up to £2,000.
