“Abysmal, shocking, disgraceful customer service”

Where do I start? Offered a discounted introductory rate which didn't materialise, lost my domain so I couldn't use my website and emails even though whois states they still own it, allowed my account to be transferred to another email address not owned by me and then allowed my card details to purchase numerous servers. Shame to see the unremittingly one star reviews for 1and1. Shame to add mine to it too. Been with 1and1 for nine years. Got three different packages from cheap and cheerful to business pro. “Rude, unhelpful and dishonest”

I made the mistake of choosing these after a friend recommended them to me on a forum after being unhappy with my current host. Their technical support staff are rude, sarcastic and very unhelpful. “Worst webhosting server ever”

This is one of the worst email service that I am seen. I never seen anything bad than this. When you try to open the webmail using any of the links like email.1and1.com or webmail.1and1.com, the session automatically expires. You can observe this behaviour number of times in various situations. “NEVER Ever Use 1and1.co.uk AVOID at ALL COSTS”

I have had a business contract with 1and1.co.uk for many years. From 2005 onwards, but not any more or ever again. In the early days they provided cheap and cheerful web hosting but as my business grew, so did the incompetence of 1and1.co.uk. Simple things like updating my home address was and still is impossible (even worse when I moved to Ireland for 2 years) so I've always had to update WHOIS via Nominet and not via 1and1's control panel. “1and1 Minus anyone. Do not use!!!”

I rated one star as I couldn't rate minus five. Date: 2012 When I first started with 1and1 up on first signup, this was an offer of a first month free basis. For that first month I couldn’t log in to my 1and1 account as their was an error on 1and1’s part. This happened for the first month therefore I lost my first free month due to not being able to log in and access my account. “Dishonest, untrustworthy, do not give them your bank...”

Please think twice before signing up for any contract. Do not give them your bank details. 1&1 will call you offering you a 30 day free trial and then enter you into a fixed 12 month contract for something you didn't ask for, refuse to give you a refund for cash they have taken without authorisation and then send you round in circles trying to cancel it. i second this review as I have had the exact same problems where all i wanted to do was register a domain then found they had automatically added me to a website builder package with a minimum 12 month contract for a package i didnt want. Even before i realised they had put me on 12 month contract without consent they have made cancellation extremely difficult and i have many more issues with them but please dont touch this company as they are criminals as far as im concerned. in fact i wouldnt even give them a 1 star. they also dont respond to complaints.

would appreciate how you get on with watchdog as i think i will go down that route as dont know who else to report them to?

“Warning,! Auto renew contract cannot be cancelled!! ”

Terrible support. At one tenth of the maximum database size and with no one on the website, they are claiming my site has 'too much load on the server'. “Dangerous security procedures ”

I recently have chsnged from a partnership to a Limited company anf have had to change my details with over 50 companies zi deal with. 1and1 make the whole process lenghy and have the worst security procedures i have ever come across, they wanted me to put down on a form all of my baccount access information and the passwords to access my account and send that to them. “Billed me for domains that were transfered to another...”

1&1 are the worst Hosts and domain registar's I have experienced. Please do not entertain them. I have been with them a few years and to be honest they make my blood boil. I now registar all my Domain at Namecheap. I tried a number of times to transfer two Domains to Namecheap 2 months before they were due for renewal. The control panel is awful to use. I've had a similar issue. I transferred several domains in May 2013 and 1and1's cancellation/transfer dashboard was not working. I emailed customer services and received a response stating that their IT help desk was aware of the issue.

So I went via Nominet and changed the domain TAGS to my new hosting company.

Long story short - over 35 days later 1and1.co.uk have no issue an invoice for domain name renewal. The same domains that were successfully transferred away over a month ago.

I have all the emails proving the transfer was completed 10 days before the invoice was raised, so look forward to ignoring the fools.
