I do not recommend 1&1 - they have a few nice tools and the site seems pretty fast, but their customer service really lets them down in my opinion, with only a 24 hour reply to each e-mail query - so it could potentially take weeks to resolve a problem that way, and in my experience customer services really don't seem to know what they're doing!… Read Full Review

Having taken out microsoft exhange server with 1&1, which I didn't use simply through lack on necessity. I left its contract to run out, to find out that tucked away the the ts and cs was the recurring billing info. This is annoying enough due to being very unclear, but when addressed they were the most unhelpful customer service I have dealth with!… Read Full Review

I totally agree with you concerning the reoccurring billing issue and the poor quality customer services in resolving this issue. Is this a sign that the company is going downhill. I would now certainly NOT recommend them, even though I thought them to be a reputable company.

<br/>My issue is they don't issue a reminder before the billing date and then have a complicated system of canceling.
<br/>
<br/>This is compared to Names.co.uk - that send out 3-4 reminders once the renewal date - giving you the opportunity to cancel before the renewal date.

If everything is running fine no problems but the minute you need to involve customer services it goes down hill. Could not take money from the card I gave them as there were problems with Cahoot. Cahoot could find no problem. I asked 1and1 for a reference number or contact name for whom they were dealing with at Cahoot - did not have one!!!!!!!!
