Written on: 28/05/2002 by GSV. (1 review written)

The Nokia 5210 mobile phone's dimensions are 105.5 x 47.5 x 22.5 mm, 83 cc, and it has a weight of 92 gr. This phone is supposed to be tough, however it isn't. Everybody must be aware that 5210 isn't shock, dust or water resistant. It just has "Improved Durability" whatever this means... The Nokia 5210 has the typical features of a Nokia phone, like WAP 1.1, T9, calculator, currency converter, voice dial and....thermometer. BUT, I think that someone who wants to buy a phone with increased… Read Full Review

Yes. Others have poured water on theirs and it still goes, lucky I say as it's only supposed to be splash resistant not waterproof.
On another note, WAP 1.1 is rubbish. The phone should have WAP 2 to be more useful.

Nokia 5210: I love my mobile phone, I've had several others including Nokia models but none are as good as this. Love how it feels so robust. Came with wave blue shells (looks sophisticated) some features need a bit of work, mainly the picture editor. Overall this is the best phone for the clumsy people amongst us, or just those who want a fantastic phone with great features!… Read Full Review

Mobile phones that save logos over the top of others are a pain as you have to download another when you want to change it. Any decent phone should store several of them so you can change them as and when you want.

Written on: 24/05/2002 by Sam. (1 review written)

What a fantastic mobile phone, I'm almost completely in love with my Nokia 5210. I think Nokia need to employ new graphics designers as the picture messages and profile logos are a let down but they are not the main bit of the phone, features you would expect to find on any Nokia are there but with lots of very useful and some pointless extras. For example the thermometer (not sure how reliable it is if you have been holding the phone in your hand!!) bit of fun anyway. If you like your phone to… Read Full Review

<br>i'm having mix feeling about buying the fone after reading a whole bunch of reviews about poor reception and battery life so tell me have you had these faults?

The power button is probably so difficult as the phone is designed to be rugged.
This should not be a problem anyway as how often do you actually need to turn off the phone. I mean, why have a mobile if you're going to turn if off all the time. If you are busy or at work put it on vibrate or silent. For the odd times that you HAVE to turn it off (like in a hospital), well we hope that isn't too often. :-)

Written on: 04/05/2002 by Raj Hanson. (1 review written)

The Nokia 5210 is a wonderful mobile phone to have! Nokia's human technology concept is just great. The 5210 is an ideal phone for those on the go. But there is still room for improvement. The slot for inserting the SIM card should have been designed just like the Nokia 3210, which does not cause scratches on the surface of your SIM. The orange backlight is bright and nice to look at. I am very happy with this phone which I just bought… Read Full Review

Yeah, I heard the reception is useless and the thermometer is hopeless too.
Mind you, the thermometer would only work accurately if the phone is left for about 30 minutes in the place you want to check the temperature. In you hand or pocket it will read very inaccurately. Like any digital thermometer device, these usually need to be sat for about 30 mins to get an accurate reading with the major exception being ones with a laser sensor.

I heard they are full of problems too.
I agree that the Nokia's are all very similar from the bottom model to the top end (except the very new colour screen ones). The software is getting really, really boring. Personally, I can't stand the Nokia operating interface.

Written on: 21/03/2002 by heffer. (1 review written)

I hate to admit it, when it comes to ease of use Nokia can't be beaten. I had a cool small phone from another manufacturer for two weeks but had to give it up because it was very difficult to write text messages due to the small keys and very unfriendly user interface. Although Nokia targets mostly young consumers, it's user-friendly interface makes it a winner and a highly recommended device for any user. ET come home!… Read Full Review

The screen is too small. The orange backlight is horrible. Nokia's user interface is so boring and their menus are too simple. There interface is so plain it's tedious to use. Virtually all models are the same old boring style.

I have had my Nokia 5210 mobile phone for 2 weeks and I fell in love with it. Comparing to what I had before ( Nokia 7110 ), it is light, compact and far more robust. As fun stuff and multimedia it is awesome: animated screensavers, vibra and backlights are in the melody rythm, cool melodies, you can save the stopwatch timing as calender notes ( this is great for my swimming practice ), the thermometer is cool ( though not so accurate ). You can even create or edit a picture, even if it is… Read Full Review

Would be better with WAP 2. The others are outdated.
Thermometer is only useful if phone is left for about 30 mins in the position you want to get the temp like any other standard thermometer for an accurate reading. If you are holding it, it will warm up also if in your pocket so give you a bad reading.
