    The nokia 5210 has a major software bug. If you go to profiles->general->personalise-> message alert tone->personal and you select a ring tone, then you 'll get a language menu when you go to names->caller groups and select one of the caller groups.     I wanted a robust phone that i could use and abuse, i am an operational firefighter, and up to now it has not disappointed (yes it has been dropped and been wet).
    So maybe some reviewers expect too much and if they want a poser's phone don't buy the 5210

    I've had my nokia 5210 for a year now and all i've had is trouble, I wish i hadn't bought it. I am going to sell it now and when i dropped it the screen cracked. So how can they call it shock proof? I am going to buy a different phone now!!!!!

    SIZE IS A PLUS, IS NOT SO LIGHT. I WAS LOOKING FOR A WATER/SHOCK PROOF PHONE FOR TRAVELLING AND THIS IS THE BEST AROUND. HAD IT SINCE APRIL 02 AND HAD NO PROBLEMS AT ALL, HAS BEEN BANGED AROUND A LOT WHEN TRAVELLING.

    I would like to see the phone with the build quality of the 8310 cause if all the things that were on the 8310 were put on to the 5210 it would be a smashing phone

    I got my 5210 in April 02. I am now on my 5th. Y? because it's the most unreliable phone i've ever had! Faults i have had include, buttons not working, buttons putting a different number on the screen to that i pressed. Phone cutting out during texting.     By far the worst phone I ever bought. It was so boring, thermometer doesn't work at all etc...
    I now own a panasonic gd 87 colour camera phone. And there is just no comparison. I wouldn't change it for anything. Never buy a monochrome phone these days, at least get a colour phone like the 3510i, o ...
