A mobile newcomer's first impressions:
I like the dinky looks and feel of the blue version very much. It feels good in the hand because it has good ergonomics with the shape and quasi-rubber, and good balance of the weight unlike the 3510. I don't mind that the buttons are clicky since that is the price you pay for the robust versatility of the phone.
Compared to the 3510 though, the sound is a little tinnier or scratchy in the way those simple metallic earplugs are. You know, the really cheap… Read Full Review

The nokia 5210 has a major software bug. If you go to profiles->general->personalise-> message alert tone->personal and you select a ring tone, then you 'll get a language menu when you go to names->caller groups and select one of the caller groups. Instead of group name, ... you 'll get a language menu. There are more of these software bugs, so i recommend that you don't buy this phone… Read Full Review

I wanted a robust phone that i could use and abuse, i am an operational firefighter, and up to now it has not disappointed (yes it has been dropped and been wet). So maybe some reviewers expect too much and if they want a poser's phone don't buy the 5210… Read Full Review

I got my 5210 in April 02. I am now on my 5th. Y? because it's the most unreliable phone i've ever had! Faults i have had include, buttons not working, buttons putting a different number on the screen to that i pressed. Phone cutting out during texting. Phone losing signal until phone is switched back on. Turning itself off. Locking up. Not switching itself on at all. In addition to these faults i've had a screen crack when the phone was in my jeans pocket, and i'm a small person! The phone… Read Full Review

By far the worst phone I ever bought. It was so boring, thermometer doesn't work at all etc... I now own a panasonic gd 87 colour camera phone. And there is just no comparison. I wouldn't change it for anything. Never buy a monochrome phone these days, at least get a colour phone like the 3510i, or the 7250 soon.. I always ask myself this question: why do people bother buying monochrome phones??? I can't stand them anymore!!! Get real, colour and camera phones are the future!… Read Full Review

I got this 5210e on a free upgrade from Orange, used it for one day at work (cycle courier). I like the phone, small and light, can knock it about a bit etc. But I can't hear the ring over the London traffic noise. The main problem for me is using the hands free kit. I got a nokia hands free and need to use voice dialing alot, but when i press the button on the mic to start the voice-tag recall nothing happens. If i un-lock and then re-lock the keypad it works fine and dials away, but if I… Read Full Review

It's nice (as far as my review is concern) has good features well if you're an outgoing person, hey dude try this one! HEY NOKIA: IF YOU COULD BUILD A 7650/5210/5510 COMBINATION WELL MAKE IT A PHONE W/C IS SHOCKPROOF,COLORED/HAS DIGITAL CAM.,HAS MP3 WAPABLE HUH WHAT ,MORE!!!!!! (",)… Read Full Review

The Nokia 5210 mobile phone is garbage - it is for clumsy idiots.
The only reason to buy for is being a bit more resistant to shocks than others.
Rest is same with every others.
Thermometer is a mean marketing trick from Nokia. It is definitely useless, I tried two 5210 phones. I regret to buy this phone. Should have bought a second hand 6310 which would be a great phone. I went for the thermometer and got backstabbed... The dealer refuses to change the phone also.
Damn you Nokia !!!… Read Full Review

I had my 5210 for 12 days, for the first week, it was great (previous phone Siemens C35i), Unfortunately people that phoned me said they couldn't me hear very well. After a week the novelty value of the phone wore off, as I am not sporty the chances of me dropping the phone are slim. Therefore I changed to a Nokia 3510, so far impressed with this one much better battery and reception … Read Full Review

I was on my third Nokia 5210 mobile phone in 12 months. I like to have a good phone but if I buy the best, I will lose a lot of money when it inevitably breaks in the near future. So I buy mid range phones generally, 3310, 3330, 3330. These never lasted more than 4 months. I am a clumsy person and my phone gets dropped often. This phone practically bounces back into your hand when you drop it. Feature wise, it is a substantial upgrade of the 3330, which in turn is an upgrade of the 3310. It has… Read Full Review
