“Absolutely SHOCKING company to deal with!!!”

Received a message from Evri stating my parcel had been delayed until the next working day (3 days later due to bank holiday!) but i needed the items for a camping trip so rushed out to buy again elsewhere, only to receive the parcel later that day. After returning the items back to store, I was told to allow 5-10 working days for a refund. 10 working days came and went, no refund or contact so i called customer service. Despite me having my receipt, despatch note, return slip and bank transaction ID confirming what I paid and needed refunding, the advisor argued black and blue that I paid less and should be expecting less refunded. After an extremely frustrating 20 minutes of being called a liar, she said there had been a system error and I need to wait another 3-5 working days for the refund to be processed by the refunds team. I have never experienced such incompetence or poor customer service, and would never shop at Blacks again.

Been totally ripped off and set up.Returned items to Blacks and awaiting my refund. I've emailed numerous times and had no help. So I phoned and they said parcel had been received back to BLACK'S and I was entitled to a refund and that I would receive it in the next hour. Never got it. Phoned again and they then said to email authorisations and it would be sorted today. Nope not had my money refunded. Useless and stressful. Total nightmare they owe me £144.18! Ive ordered many times off them in the past and never had this problem before. Awful way to treat a loyal customer

NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. 1.They take your money and then say they no longer have the item in stock and take weeks to give a refund. 2. They take your money then send you something different to what you have ordered. You send the item back and wait weeks for a refund. They do not refund postage even though it is their fault. They refuse to oblige by Consumer Rights Laws. Keep well clear. Take your custom elsewhere.

“Horrible shop”

Horrible. They sent me a torn jacket. When I got in contact with them, they said I must ship that jacket back to them, so they will fo some experiments to get known where this happen with jacket (hinting that it's my fault) and I must pay for shipping. Because they sent me a torn jacket - I must pay them more. These cheaters didn't got enough from selling me terrible stuff. I shipped it back, now they don't answer me at all. Not recommend at all. Horrible shop, bad things they sell, low quality support.

“Awful customer service”

No reply to emails. When I rang up, I was told by system that they were busy and then I was told I would be cut off. Great way to wind up customers.

“Disgusting customer service ”

DO NOT SHOP WITH THEM. The WORST customer service I have ever experienced. They deliver me the wrong items (kids clothes instead of a tent) and ruin my family weekend plans. I have to call 5 times to try to resolve the problem with no care in the world from the customer advisor or manager. I'm now out of pocket and wasted so much time trying to resolve their problem. Still not sorted!!!

“Shocking!!!”

So i placed an order on 9.11.18 and I've still not received my parcel. The parcel was delivered to a number that does not exist on our street and now I've been told i will have to wait till 27.12.18 for an investigation. I don't think this is acceptable and i'm not happy as this was two Christmas presents that i ordered. I've emailed and emailed and you get the same robotic reply, the phone number just cuts you off and then they ask you reply to DM on twitter and you get no response. If you want my advice do not order from this company.

“No good”

Rubbish I was informed my item was dispatched on the 12 April, after chasing this up due to Hermes tracking not updating and long delay, I was then told order refunded, 7 days later order cancelled after saying dispatched, what a mess around this company is.

Ordered click and collect online, two weeks later and still no parcel. I have sent numerous emails as there is no way of calling them. The staff do not know what they are doing and have no idea where the item is. I was told on three separate occasions the parcel had arrived and spent over an hour in store with them looking for it, still no parcel. Even the store are told they must not call their own head office, it’s a total joke. I had to refer the matter to Paypal in the end for a refund which Paypal sorted for me. It would be less painful to have your teeth removed. Please buy from any other store apart from here.

“Diabolical ...will NEVER shop with this company again”

Zero stars! A cancelled order was still despatched. Incompetent customer care who are a law unto themselves and no supervisor to talk to. Eventually acknowledged receipt of returned order & got my full refund...within hours of contacting the CEO as suggested in a past complaint on this site. No apology for the whole fiasco that should have been halted on day 1 after my request, at least I got my money back. NEVER EVER AGAIN WORST CUSTOMERCARE DEPARTMENT - DISFUNCTIONAL, INCOMPETENT AND UNPRODUCTIVE, RETRAIN OR REPLACE!!!

“Awful, awful service”

I bought a tent from Blacks that was made by them. It broke on its second outing from ordinary use. It wasn't even windy. Blacks 'inspected' it. ( It was returned in a few days and did not appear to have even been taken out of the tent bag). There was a generic note from JD sports saying the tent was broken through 'accidental damage'. Presumably they have some sort of ability to communicate with inanimate objects to make that decision. And that was it. No offer of a refund, no offer to repair it or replace it. No number to call. Basically, they're saying, 'you've just lost £130, deal with it'. Blacks used to be a great company, but they don't even remotely resemble who they used to be anymore. Avoid at all costs!

“Return of Faulty Walking Boots”

DONT BUY FROM BLACKS IF YOU EXPECT A REFUND OR CREDIT NOTE FOR GENUINELY FAULTY GOODS !!! Recently purchased expensive brand name walking boots. Should have been waterproof - one boot wasn't ! Returned to store to send off for inspection - inspection rejected - now have a battle on for either a replacement pair, credit note, refund - really dissatisfied with service - the customer does all the chasing - its like dealing with a brick wall. WILL NOT BE BUYING FROM BLACKS AGAIN.

“Do not shop at Blacks - trading illegally ”

I bought an item which was faulty, returned it to the store and they refused to refund me!! They would only offer a gift voucher or nothing. Clearly in breach of trading standards regulations but not bothered. I have contacted their customer services team many times now, had typical put-off responses hoping I would go away, and now no responses at all. They are trading illegally and build that into their way of operating. Do not shop at this outfit. If anyone knows the best way of dropping them right in it with trading standards please let me know.

“Avoid like the plague!”

Well where to begin. I choose a very nice coat as my Christmas present from blacks. Only after a couple of weeks the coat developed a small tear over the pocket. I tried to return it to blacks receipt in hand, thinking that it would be a simple return an refund, but oh no... They refused to replace it or refund, saying it's the companies policy to send all faulty goods for inspection. It should take about three weeks! I asked to talk to a manager, but was instead given a phone number to ring! Oh and we don't have a phone for you to use here! 20 minutes of waiting on the phone ( in the shop lol) I got through to a person. I tried to explain about the problem, sales of goods act etc. Fit for purpose ( water proof jacket with a split). Reasonable quality..... Six weeks? No avail. A very defensive and indifferent attitude. I got the impression , WE have your money and WE get to check if WE think you damaged it. I will not be shopping at blacks ever again

“The worst customer service in the history of shops”

My husband bought a North face gilet for me for Christmas the thread was coming away at the back of the gilet, the shop did not have the size I wanted in the same colour so I could return it the shop assistant told me the next shop is York so you will have a long drive to check if that shop has one as they cannot ring and ask, I decided to contact head office around 10-12 times over a 4 week period also sending emails no one rang me back and when I spoke to staff members they promised to look into getting me a gilet from another store but did not ring me back at all they where un helpful and just passed me back and forth to other people and also hanging up on me. I still have the gilet and still no one has called me to follow up my issues would never buy anything from blacks again there service is a disgrace!!!!

“CUSTOMER SERVICE? NON-EXISTENT.”

Just back from the Blacks store in Kingston-upon-Thames where I wanted to buy a pair of Berghaus boots. Waited 6/7 minutes to be served while watching one assistant on her mobile phone the entire time, more interested in the lay-out of the store than doing what presumably she is being paid to do. Her colleague was next to her, drawing holly on a blackboard so making no effort to check whether a customer might be waiting. Decided not to stay and on the way out I paused by them, but was completely ignored. Just by the door another assistant smiled and asked if I was OK. I told him I wasn't as nobody in the store seemed to want to serve customers, whereupon he turned his back on me and got on with arranging clothes on a rail. Went to Cotswold Outdoor where I was treated with courtesy, respect and much appreciated help. So, advice to potential Blacks customers: Try everywhere else before you decide to part with your money in this store. Advice to Blacks management and assistants: Go to Cotswold Outdoor and discover how to deal properly with customers.

“Non existant customer service”

They say that people are more likely to post bad reviews than good reviews.....I guess their right. I felt compelled to write this review in the hopes that it stops someone else from buying from Blacks. Let me first say that I am a very shrewd purchaser of on-line goods. If I have never heard of the company I do background checks on-line to check it is not a fake website or their service is not appalling. Due to the blanket advertising around where I work, St Pauls, both in papers & magazines and on the underground, I stupidly assumed Blacks was reputable. Who spends so much money on advertising and then nothing on customer service, No one right?.....wrong! Blacks do. So below is my experience.....enjoy! I placed an order on Blacks website for well over £100 of goods on 2/12/14. I am well aware of delays in delivery due to black Friday with all companies but this is not where the problem is. After over 7 days without a word from Blacks other than the automated e-mail saying order received I decided to call Blacks customer service. I called on the 9/12/14 to say I wanted more information regarding my order. I spoke to someone who informed me that my order had fallen into some sort of order black hole....maybe that's why their called Blacks...anyway, he assured me that he was going to retrieve it and as by way of apology he would give me 20% off my next order and free next day delivery....fine I said, can you send me an e-mail stating that?....No, sorry....How do I prove that this was ever promised?....just mention it on your next order....... All began to sound like he just wanted to get me off the phone.....If you're not happy we can give you a refund.....I would rather have the order I ordered, I said......All sounded like a brush off so I decided to call back the next day. This time I became down right suspicious about them. The number for chasing up orders was dead so after a work around I finally got through and the lady informed me she would look into it and put me on hold for 16 minutes and then hung up! Now I'm really suspicious, so I google Blacks reviews and here I fell upon the numerous complaints about Blacks.....Never again I assure you, ALL companies will be vetted prior to purchase from now on! But the story is not finished......I immediately rang back and was by this time suspicious that the helpline was not in fact owned by Blacks but a call centre that takes calls for multiple clients/companies. This time a lady answers....how can I help.....first question, I would like to know if you work for Blacks or you're just a call centre?......I work for Blacks sir (that was a lie that she later admitted after double checking that I was calling about a Blacks order)....to cut an already long story a bit shorter.....It ended with me cancelling the order and her promising to call back to check they had not attempted to take any money from my account. I decided to call my bank to attempt to see if they had taken any money and if not, block it. She did call back but suspiciously quickly, under 2 minutes! She said that money had not been taken but as a gesture of goodwill, if I continued with the order they would give me 20% off my order!....really I thought.....where would a call centre get that authority considering they are not Blacks employees??? As I stated. she called me within 2 minutes so obviously had not spoken to Blacks.....at this point I got really worried that this is in some way a ploy to stall me to take money from my account. If they could not even process my order to the despatch warehouse, how the hell are they going to stop themselves from taking my payment.....So 2 months of watching my account ahead due to the bank allowing companies 60 days to claim money.....Thanks Blacks! Merry Christmas to you all.....Not! If you invest only in advertising but nothing into the company, you will go under in 2015

“Next day delivery still not posted 3 days later”

They promise next day delivery online. But my order still hasn't left the warehouse 3 days later. I'm having to perform all the chasing, not a single point of contact from Black's on the issue, no email, no phone call, nothing. No apology either. You cannot rely upon Blacks.co.uk at all.
