My dogs love this food, we also have a new puppy and this is the only food she will be eager to eat. We buy the food from wholesale (we have a trade account) and have never had a bad/blown packet. We keep the food in our cool garage before use. and use a pack within 24hours when opened. The dogs love the food, even the fussiest of them all… Read Full Review

The difference in our dog since going onto Nature Diet has been outstanding - results not seen with any other dog food which we have tried. It was recommended to us by a behaviourist and we have not looked back since! Our dog's poos now have no smell, are completely dry and are much smaller than they once were.
We have had a few packets which have smelt a little "unusual" but certainly not rancid like some of the reviews have said. We've noticed it more with the lamb than with the other… Read Full Review

I too have had many blown packages of nature diet which have smelt bad when opened. I wish they would sort this out. When in perfect condition the food is excellent, but it is becoming too costly with the amount of dodgy smelling cartons I am getting in each box.

I have recently transitioned my Northern Inuit puppy (11 weeks) from Wainwright moist puppy trays to Naturediet Puppy in the moist tray and I have to say so far it has been fantastic (fingers crossed).
I had been feeding Wainwrights since 8 weeks old, based on some research I had done online, I have found nothing but trouble with it. Puppy was constantly having loose stools and going to the toilet up to 6 times a day. The poo was pudding soft, with mucus and slime init. I can only assume it… Read Full Review

My dog was thriving on this food after several attempts to find something his delicate tummy could tolerate and I was delighted.
However along with other reviewers I have found blown packs in bulk orders. I could live with that as it is obvious the pack isn't sealed and you can usually get your money back.
What I have been less impressed with is apparently intact packs that when opened leave you reeling with the stink. While I dont expect my dog's food to smell great I also dont expect to… Read Full Review

Have experienced a large number of packets that were either "blown" or had an unpleasnt smell when the packet was peeled open.
mixed experiences with the manufacturers, sometimes charming other times the "customer services" could not care less.
Our dog loves the food and this was the first do food he did not re act to( sensitive stomach due to virus when a puppy)
Would recommend but only if and when they sort out their production issues - many different casuese claimed by the manufacturers as… Read Full Review

Positively dangerous. I am no longer prepared to risk my pet's safety by feeding petfood which has the potential to make her seriously ill. I used to be a massive Naturediet fan. The ingredients are 100% trustworthy & my dog thrived on this food. So why the 2 stars & "dangerous" label? I have lost count of the number of "blown" trays of rancid food I have ended up with. Despite storing them correctly, I find that all too often, within 48 hrs of purchase, I will come across at least one… Read Full Review

I have been feeding this to my Parsons terrier for three months now. I use it in addition to JWB dry kibble. I have found it to be a very good quality food which has so far been in very good condition with none of the problems of blown cartons as mentioned by some of the other posts. The dog had previously suffered various food related alergies which now seem to have cleared up since switching to the JWB and Nature diet combo. I will continue to use this product as it's quality is without doubt… Read Full Review

We changed our border collies to this food and they love it, it also calmed them down a lot, lastly what comes out of the other end is so much better.
There is a problem with the occasional blown packet of food but I simply return it my supplier on my next visit and he exchanges it. Its worth putting up with this slight problem because overall the food is very good. We weaned our puppies on natures diet puppy food and it waqs so easy.I told natures diet about blown paCKETS WITHIN THREE DAYS NEW… Read Full Review

We have a 2 year old German Shepherd who didn't enjoy his (dried) food. We looked around for a natural wet food and tried him on Nature Diet, all flavours, which he loved. Over the period of a few months, there was the odd carton that smelled awful that we would throw away but recently we have noticed a real difficulty in buying this food. Our local pets at home had only fish which fortunately our dog liked so we bought some to tide us over until our usual online supplier had more in stock… Read Full Review

The food is very good, when it is in perfect condition. That seems to be the problem. The number of packs that I have opened that have been off, honestly, there have been that many over the years that I have lost track. The company are very good at sending the odd pack out as a replacement but when I had an issue with multiple packs, they appeared uninterested and told me to take the problem up with the supplier, even though I had supplied them with batch numbers. Needless to say I have… Read Full Review

I have a 14 month old male whippet who is quite a fussy eater. I started him on JWB but he didn't take to dry food even though I persisted for several months. I changed over to ND fish and salmon flavours and he appeared to love them at first. Then he just stopped eating them. I changed over to the lamb, chicken and rabbit and he seemed to enjoy them. However, I'm fed up of blown trays of food, especially the lamb, which smell so rancid it makes me retch. Found a blown, spoiled lamb packet in… Read Full Review

I cannot understand the bad comments that i have seen my 2 year old german shepherd has been fantastic on nature diet his stools are fine, the comments about blown packaging are unbelievable i check the food i buy as i do for my family.Perhaps people should check their suppliers for quality. If any of these complaints had been directly supplied by nature diets and then had complaints ignored i would be concerned about that but that does not look like the case buying expensive food cheap from the… Read Full Review

I also have had major problems with nature diet,
I had been weaning my Irish setter puppies on this and they kept getting upset tummy's,
two of them ended up having to go to the vets and were but on a special diet to help them get over it
this cost me over £90 inc vet fees,
I have sent loads of e-mails and complaints to nature diet,
they say there is nothing wrong with there food and I am the first person to complain,
well there is something wrong with there food and they should start to take… Read Full Review

I totally agree with Gavin's review. I have two dogs one of which has been diagnosed as having a pancreatic insufficiency. He now is fed solely on a prescription diet. Prior to this nature diet was the only food that he could tolerate without experiencing severe stomach upsets, and expensive trips to the vets. when we got our second dog nature diet was the obvious choice and worked well for her until I began experiencing problems with rancid food. I have just returned another load to pets at… Read Full Review

I too have fed this food for six years to four different dogs who all loved it and did well on it. But recently I have had a real problem with blown trays and food that smells rancid when you open it. I emailed the company but they don't even reply. Three of my dogs have had stomach upsets and I am sure it is due to this food. I am going to stop feeding it and change to another variety - either something is wrong with the packaging or they are not cooking it properly. Either way something has… Read Full Review

We have 9 Shih Tzu's all in full coat. We thought we would try Naturediet as a change from Royal Canin Sensible and only gave a half of a tray between six of them as an addition to the sensible kibble. 5 out of the 6 had upset stomachs. Think we will chuck the other half of the tray… Read Full Review

Our collie cross had problems with collitis prior to using this product - he is so much better now and knowing what I know now I would always use a wet food rather than dry. We always bulk out his food with more carrots and rice. Have noticed a difference since we have gone on to brown rice - he is even better. Great product would recommend highly… Read Full Review

My border collie LOVED this product (for 2 and a half years), until we started having problems with both the dog and the food. We bought the food in multiple boxes and initially we had problems with the chicken smelling rancid (nothing to do with our storage as it was from the day we bought it). More recently, we had 4 boxes of turkey that smelled so bad that we didn't have the heart to feed it to him. A sample sent to Naturediet was said to be fine, making refunds a problem, but I still… Read Full Review
